Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings boom appears to be circling the drain.  

Disney briefly suspended ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last month after the host’s remarks about the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk sparked widespread backlash. Once Disney reversed course, the liberal comedian drew a massive audience for his much-hyped return on September 23. 

On Thursday, Oct. 2, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” averaged 1.9 million viewers, shedding 71% of the audience that tuned in for the host’s return from suspension. 

The decline among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54 was even more significant, as “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” managed 265,000 viewers from the critical group on Thursday night to lose 85% of the 1.7 million who tuned in on Sept. 23. It marked Kimmel’s smallest audience among demo viewers since the suspension. 

Kimmel averaged 1.6 million viewers in 2025 before Disney decided to temporarily sideline him, so another drop would result in the show returning to its pre-scandal viewership.

ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” also trailed Fox News’ “Gutfeld!” across the board on Thursday. 

Gutfeld averaged 2.8 million total viewers to top Kimmel by 49% and 370,000 demo viewers for a 40% edge in that category, too. 

Kimmel found himself in hot water last month when he falsely suggested that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect in the Charlie Kirk assassination, was part of the “MAGA gang,” despite reports he had a left-wing ideology, which was reaffirmed in the indictment filed the next day.

According to the Daily Wire:

The man who planned to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022 in an attempt to change the court’s balance of power was sentenced by a Joe Biden-appointed judge on Friday to 97 months in prison, granting the defendant’s request for an eight-year sentence.

Judge Deborah Boardman, a Joe Biden appointee to Maryland federal court, acknowledged there was “a whopping 22-year difference” between that and the minimum of 30 years called for by federal sentencing guidelines. Prosecutors had asked for sentencing guidelines to be followed.

The Department of Justice plans to appeal the sentence, The Daily Wire has learned.

Nicholas Roske traveled from California to Kavanaugh’s Maryland home armed with cache of weapons after a leaked document showed that the court planned to rule against liberals on abortion. Although he had meticulously planned the assassination for months, he had a change of heart outside the conservative justice’s home and called the police to turn himself in.

He has been detained in the three years since, so with time served and good behavior, Roske’s sentence would mean he could be out four years after being sentenced on the charge of Attempt to Assassinate a U.S. Justice. The sentence also included lifetime court supervision.

Boardman said “Under the law I must consider the sentencing guidelines. The guidelines in this case are 360 months to life. It’s important to understand the Supreme Court stance on guidelines… They used to be mandatory, but in [a case called] Booker the Supreme Court held that they were advisory.”

The judge acknowledged that “this crime did involve domestic terrorism,” but undid most of the “terrorism enhancement” created by the U.S. Sentencing Commission to increase recommended punishments in terrorism cases.

“I have not seen evidence that the Sentencing Commission relied on evidence that it would reduce recidivism,” she said. She said recent research in the Georgetown Law Journal said terrorists are not uniquely incapable of being rehabilitated.

He tried to murder someone for political reasons. You don’t assume he won’t try it again. For the protection of the public, you should assume he will do it again unless otherwise proven he won’t.

Then we get to the real reason why this POS should get a shorter sentence:

The sentencing took more than seven hours, with much of the time dedicated to discussing how Roske’s transgender identity meant he should get a lighter sentence.

In a more than hour-long speech justifying the light sentence, Boardman said “Ms. Roske came out to herself as transgender in 2020 but kept it secret. Ms. Roske’s sister came out as gay two years prior but Ms. Roske saw that their parents struggled to reconcile her sexuality with their religious beliefs.”

“I am heartened that this terrible infraction has helped the Roske family… accept their daughter for who she is,” Judge Boardman said.

His mother Colleen told the judge on Friday that “I have attended PFLAG meetings and learned about the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to going on this journey with Sophie… She was frustrated with what was going on in the world, and we weren’t a safe place to process it.” As his mother wept, Nicholas Roske also choked up, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.

Boardman said “Any prison time is punishment for her. The length doesn’t need to be particularly long… unduly harsh conditions make a difference, too.” The judge continued, “She will be imprisoned in a male facility even though she is a transgender prisoner, pursuant to an executive order from the president. Before the executive order, that wasn’t the case.”

Democrat Virginia attorney general candidate Jay Jones, in recently uncovered text messages, fantasized about murdering a state GOP leader with “two bullets to the head” and “piss[ing]” on the graves of other Republicans.

In the wake of the scandal — which comes at a time of increased political violence from the Left — Jones has sought to blame Republicans and President Donald Trump.

In text messages obtained first by National Review, Jones says to another lawmaker that he would use two bullets to murder then-GOP House Speaker Todd Gilbert.

“Like all people, I’ve sent text messages that I regret, and I believe that violent rhetoric has no place in our politics. “I want to issue my deepest apology to Speaker Gilbert and his family. Reading back those words made me sick to my stomach. I am embarrassed, ashamed, and sorry. I have reached out to Speaker Gilbert to apologize directly to him, his wife Jennifer, and their children. I cannot take back what I said; I can only take full accountability and offer my sincere apology.”

The media is still claiming these are just allegations that Jay said this.

An Indiana man accused of breaking into a home and stabbing a family, including the brutal, fatal stabbing of 6-year-old Logan Tipton, is now a free man.

In 2018, Ronald Exantus was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the gruesome murder of Tipton, who was forcefully stabbed repeatedly in the head. The jury, though, found him guilty but mentally ill on assault charges. He was sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

This past week, however, Exantus was released from prison after serving only eight years. He’s set to serve six months of parole in Florida.

Notably, the defense team admitted during trial that Exantus committed the murder, and the victim’s father, Dean Tipton, witnessed the attack and held down Exantus until police arrived on scene. Two of Tipton’s sisters and Dean were stabbed and injured during the attack.

Tipton’s sister, Koral, recalled waking up to her brother’s screams on the night of the attack, December 7, 2015, in their Kentucky home. “All I could see was a man, a big man, over top of him, stabbing him,” she said to FOX56.

Dean fought to save his son, but was thrown across the room. “He snaps, just snaps, and stands up with me sitting on top of him, and he throws me across the room,” he said. “I mean, maybe 10-15 feet he throws me across the room and goes after [Koral].”

Dean said he held his dying boy in his arms that night. “He was gasping for air; I was holding him deep in my arms. And finally, he took his last breath, looked at me, closed his eyes, and he was gone,” the father said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted to X on Saturday morning, “I can confirm the White House is looking into this. It’s wholly unacceptable for a child killer to walk free after just several years in prison.”

According to the New York Post:

Chicago police officers en route to help federal agents who were being surrounded and menaced by an angry mob of ICE protesters were seemingly ordered by their chief of patrol to stand down and not provide assistance, stunning dispatch audio and internal messages reveal.

The group of agents was conducting a routine patrol on the city’s South Side on Saturday “when they were attacked and rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars,” the Department of Homeland Security said.

The agents were on patrol about 15 miles from the anti-ICE protests that had been simmering for several days outside the ICE processing center in the Chicago suburb of Broadview when the attack began.

Once they attempted to flee their trapped vehicle, a woman — later found to be toting a semi-automatic weapon — attempted to run the officers down, but was shot by police.

Local cops were initially prepared to help the agents, but were ordered to stand down by the chief of patrol, according to shocking dispatch audio transmissions.

“Younger male Hispanic wearing all black … wanted for the hit-and-run, this guy fled from the scene,” a female dispatcher blares in response to a call for help from the surrounded ICE agents on audio shared by ExxAlerts.

“When the offending vehicle crashed, they ran the federal agent off the road, they fled on foot westbound.”

A male voice then comes on the radio channel, telling the dispatcher to direct officers to head to the scene and “stay put” a few blocks away and await further instruction, which she relays.

A few seconds later, the male voice is heard again, saying tersely: “Per the chief of patrol: Clear everybody out, we’re not responding over there.”

The female dispatcher then tells officers on the way to the distress call, “per the chief of patrol, all units clear out from there, we’re not sending anybody out to that location.”

A male officer responds over the sound of sirens wailing in the background, saying, “We’re going to clear out as soon as we can, we’re like blocked in over here so we’re going to do the best we can to get out of here as soon as we can.”

An internal department memo sent to Chicago cops and obtained by Fox News confirms the shocking reversal.

“PLEASE CHIEF OF PATROL NO UNITS WILL RESPOND TO THIS AS RELATED FROM 04-Oc5-2025/12:34:44…CALLER IS 1 OF APPROX 30 ARMED PATROL AGENTS (ICE) WHO ARE BEING SURROUNDED BY A LARGE CROWD OF PEOPLE REQUESTING CPD,” the dispatch message read.

According to Fox News:

A federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s efforts to deploy National Guard troops into Portland in a late-night decision on Sunday.

U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut ruled the action was unlawful and unconstitutional, issuing an emergency temporary restraining order to halt the deployment of California’s National Guard. The order also bars the use of troops from any other state or Washington, D.C. in Oregon.

Immergut’s ruling says that the Trump administration’s action violates federal statute 10 U.S.C. §12406 and the Tenth Amendment.

“It appears to violate both 10 U.S.C. §12406 and the Tenth Amendment,” Immergut said during the proceeding, according to reporting from Adam Klasfeld of AllRise News.

Immergut also pressed Justice Department attorney Eric Hamilton on why the DOJ continued to pursue troop movements.

“How could bringing in federalized National Guard from California not be in direct contravention of the TRO that I issued yesterday?” she asked.

“You’re an officer of the court. Aren’t defendants circumventing my order?”

Hamilton went on to deny any wrongdoing but did offer a defense to which Immergut pushed back.

“You have to have a colorable claim that Oregon conditions warrant deploying the National Guard — you don’t.”

A man has been arrested after firing multiple shots at a window of an ABC News affiliate in Sacramento, California, following the network’s decision to pull late night host Jimmy Kimmel after he lied about the assassination of 31-year-old Charlie Kirk.

The suspect has been identified as 64-year-old Anibal Hernandez-Santana. He’s been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm, and shooting into an occupied building.

An investigation into the shooting is still underway, however, a report from Variety says the suspect is a former legislative director for the California Federation of Teachers, and his social media is rife with “anti-Trump commentary.”

In one post, the suspect allegedly wrote in July, “The authoritarian oligarchy is now complete. CBS+ caving, big law firms in DC, the subservients FBI and AG, university presidents stepping down, fan boys SCOTUS, public radio, ICE goons. We are going to have to ‘fight like hell’. Rules don’t apply if election was stolen. FIGHT!”

But that wasn’t the only one. According to Perplexity:

A 59-year-old man named Robert Steven DeCesare was killed during a shooting at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire on Saturday, September 20, 2025, while a wedding reception was underway at the venue.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, though witnesses reported hearing Nadeau say phrases such as “the children are safe” and “free Palestine” after the attack. Authorities have stated there was no ongoing threat to the public and that the country club is cooperating with law enforcement officials.

The man who attempted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh identifies as a transgender woman and was deeply mentally ill and suicidal, according to court documents first obtained by The Daily Wire.

The Department of Justice is recommending that the defendant, 29-year-old Nicholas Roske, be sentenced to 30 years in prison for attempting to kill the Supreme Court justice in 2022, according to a Friday filing outlining the case against Roske. Roske pled guilty to the attempt to kill a United States Supreme Court Justice in April 2025, three years after authorities arrested him in Kavanaugh’s neighborhood, carrying a bag full of weapons and burglary tools.

A filing from Roske’s defense attorneys shows that Roske now goes by “Sophie Roske” and that his legal team will refer to him using female pronouns. A footnote on the filing, obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire, explains that the defense will not use Roske’s legal name “out of respect” for the would-be assassin.

“The case is captioned as United States v. Nicholas John Roske,” lawyers for Roske state. “That name remains Ms. Roske’s legal name, and she has not asked to recaption the case. Out of respect for Ms. Roske, the balance of this pleading and counsel’s in-court argument will refer to her as Sophie and use female pronouns.”

A source familiar with the legal proceedings in the case told The Daily Wire that Roske was using female identities online before the attempted murder, and now goes by the female name reflected in the defense filings.
