Episode 802 – So, What’s the Point of School?

The war between Israel and Hamas continues with the worst yet to come.

The 1970s loses one of its greatest icons.

And maybe George Floyd wasn’t murdered after all.

Some Thoughts on Israel and the World’s Response

Fox News released a report about some of the information gathered from a captured terrorist in Israel. It is eye-opening but, to be honest, could have been a lot more eye opening. Let’s listen:

I believe all this. Israel has released tapes of captured terrorists in the last few weeks and they have said the same thing.

First off, I hate this moral high ground that the news media holds by withholding information because it is “too graphic.” Throw a warning out there and then give us the information. Here’s the problem, we need to know what’s going on over there. We need the realities of what these terrorists are doing. A lot of people in this country think the Hamas terrorists are freedom fighters that will stop when they get what they want.

There’s a problem, they want dead Jews. That’s all they want and they won’t stop until they are all dead. So just tell us what those f-ing animals are doing over there and spare our tender mercies.

I will go a step further, we should see everything. We should see the violence. Here’s the problem with this country, we live in a bubble that filters out all the bad things in the world so we don’t have to face them. Our people live in fantasies, ideologies and narratives. Most of us don’t live in reality. That’s why there was no discussion when 9/11 happened. We all saw it. People couldn’t hide behind their little fantastical walls.

By the way, the animals that perpetuated 9/11 also perpetuated this attack.

Good news, the Daily Wire added some context from a military gal for the IDF that was in charge of taking care of the bodies:

A woman named Shari, who did not want to give her last name because she wanted to protect her family, works in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Rabbinate corps and it is her job to clean the victim’s bodies as best as possible to prepare them for burial.

“We wash the bodies and prepare them for burial. We try to bring them dignity in death,” she told the Daily Mail. “I heard stories about Auschwitz as a child growing up in New Jersey. But what I have seen here with my own eyes is worse than the Holocaust.”

“What these barbarians did to these people is beyond words,” said Shari, who is from New Jersey and moved to Israel 20 years ago. “There is evidence of mass rape so brutal that they broke their victims’ pelvis – women, grandmothers, children.”

She said that she never expected to see some of the horrifying scenes that she was exposed to as a result of the Islamic terrorism.

“People whose heads have been cut off. Women standing in their night dresses woken up and shot. Faces blasted off. Heads smashed and their brains spilling out,” she said. “A baby was cut out of a pregnant woman and beheaded and then the mother was beheaded.”

“Women and children burned to charcoal. Bodies murdered with their hands tied behind their backs,” she continued. “My mother and my grandmother are Holocaust survivors. They were the only members of the family to come out of Auschwitz alive after they were taken from their homes in Czechoslovakia. All of her brothers and sisters and uncles and aunts were murdered there.”

The Hamas terrorists were barbaric to begin with, but many of them also reportedly took a drug called Captagon, an amphetamine produced in southern Europe and the Middle East that has helped fuel terrorism. It is commonly referred to as the “ISIS drug.” Small bags of cocaine were also found in vehicles that the terrorists used to drive from Gaza to Israel.

Colonel Rabbi Haim Weisberg said that what Israeli forces have discovered in the aftermath of the attacks was “evidence of torture and savagery.”

“We have babies with their heads cut off. Bodies without hands, without legs, without genitals,” he added.

Some things:

  • I know you have been hearing a lot of bad things the Israelis are doing but they are not doing this.
  • It is a pretty sick and, dare I say it, evil society that supports the people that do this kind of thing.
  • The good news, though, is most people, including the Biden administration, do not support this.
  • This should also tell you to ignore all the news reports of victimized Palestinian kids.
    • The Hamas terrorists are using the innocent as shields.
    • War sucks, women and kids die. That does not change the justification of war.
    • Lots of children died in World War II. Does that mean we shouldn’t have fought against Hitler?
  • This war must be fought. Not just for Israel but for us too,
    • It is only a matter of time before the terrorists are here. We learned this after 9/11.
    • Our border is wide open. These people are sneaking in right now.
    • Our terror level is at the highest level since 9/11.
  • I do not want to hear anymore from the Left about Hitler, Nazis, white supremacists or any of that crap. I don’t want to hear about words of genocide by MAGA, right-wing extremists. These people support genocide of people they don’t agree with, that includes people on the right-wing.

Tomorrow we will talk about the diversity bullshit and why we shouldn’t import these assholes from Palestine.

  • I think the big thing here is her language.
  • The guy did f-up and got chewed out. Welcome to real life. I have never been cussed out like that. Mainly, she would have been knocked on her ass if she talked to me like that.
  • The fact is she might have been justified at being pissed off and chewing him out. Even cussing at him a little. Let’s face it, this is not the first politician that has done this.
  • Here’s where the problem comes to play:
    • This rant crossed the line of decorum. This was abuse, not just a chewing out. Anyone else would have been sued.
    • The Democrats always claim they are the ones with understanding and compassion and Republicans are the heartless monsters.
    • These people claim they are the party of the people, the party of the working class. Republicans are the party of the rich.
    • This is an example of a politician that thinks she is above any reproach. She is untouchable. She is superior. Her minion is nothing but a peon and is not worthy of respect.
    • By the way, she’s not the only one who thinks this.

Derrick Chauvin Should BE Released Immediately

Interesting that we saw Derrick Chauvin’s trial where he was convicted of murder. Watched all the witnesses including the medical examiners. Saw that the medical examiners were a bit befuddled as to the death of George Floyd, but they agreed he died from pressure on his neck.

The one thing we never saw was the autopsy report. I mean, Floyd’s family, who had nothing to do with George Floyd, got $27 million so you’d think we’d, at least, get to see the autopsy report.

Well, we finally did. Maybe it’s time to free Derrick Chauvin and get the $27 million tax payer dollars back.

Some things here:

  • George Floyd has no injuries to his face, skull, neck, trachea, shoulders or back. None.
  • In other words, George Floyd wasn’t choked.
  • Then, we get to see his toxicology screening (I had to do some research here so appreciate me:
    • Overdose fentanyl level is 7 ng/mL. Floyd’s was at 11 ng/mL.
    • Overdose for norfentanyl is between 2-3 ng/ml. Floyd was at 5.6 ng/mL.
    • He had a level of 19 ng/mL of meth which is high.
    • He also had some heroin and pot in his blood.
    • Oh, yeah, he had the China virus which is probably the listed cause of death.

George Floyd died of a drug overdose while in police custody. He had excited delirium, was put on the ground, overdosed and died. The police were there because he committed a crime.

Derrick Chauvin and the other three cops should be released and given millions each for false prosecution.

Why Have School at All?

According to KOIN Portland:

 For the next five years, high school students in Oregon will not be required to take an assessment of essential skills proving they’ve mastered math, reading or writing.

This comes as the Oregon Board of Education unanimously voted Thursday to extend a pause created by former Gov. Kate Brown in 2020, suspending the proficiency requirement in order to graduate. The pause will now last through the 2027-2028 school year.

The controversial decision was first reported by the Oregonian on Thursday, and has been met with a lot of pushback. While some say it will lower state standards and cheapen an Oregon diploma, other education experts say the policy didn’t work and disproportionately harmed students of color.  

Well, duh!

Some things:

  • The question I have for you is what is the point of school if they don’t guarantee that the kids will be able to read, write, add and subtract.
  • Also, this is also being done for inclusivity.
    • I guess blacks and Hispanics can’t be expected to read , write and do math because they are too stupid.
    • So, since they are too stupid, we just won’t expect anyone to be able to read, write and know math.
    • Sounds pretty racist.
  • I want to point out this hurts minorities more. That’s because they are never expected to get out of the cycle of poverty.
  • By the way, keeping the population stupid is how the Left keeps power. This little tactic is nothing new in totalitarian countries.
  • If you need more evidence that children should be home schooled, I don’t know what to tell you.

A Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by America First Legal has revealed that Joe Biden during his time as Vice President sent or received thousands of emails between his office and businesses and accounts associated with Hunter and Jim Biden.

Biden reportedly sent or received 19,335 emails from Rosemont Seneca, Hunter Biden’s investment firm, 4,243 emails from Hunter Biden himself, 1,751 emails from Jim Biden, and 3,738 emails from Jim Biden’s Lion Hall Group.

Biden and his White House have repeatedly claimed that the then-VP had no connection to his son’s businesses. They have further said that he has no knowledge now about his son’s foreign business dealings, even as Hunter faces scrutiny over potential FARA violations for his lucrative work in China, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Everything is Racist!

According to The Blaze:

A former Olympian delivered an eye-opening remark comparing professional sports contracts to slavery during an appearance on ESPN’s new series hosted by “anti-racist” Ibram X. Kendi.

ESPN gave Kendi his own series titled “Skin in the Game,” which “delves into and challenges racism in the sports world, and will reveal how pervasive racism is in sports, while challenging the thoughts and systems of various governing bodies.”

The five-episode series features episodes sub-titled: “How Do Athletes Play a Role in Social Change?,” “Are Black Women Athletes Carrying the Weight of the World?,” “What is the Cost of Race Norming?,” and “What is the Impact of Racist Ideas in Sports Media?”

The first episode aired on Sept. 20, in which Kendi “takes a look at black athletes who use public platforms to protest injustice and what it costs to speak up.”

The episode featured former Olympian Gwendolyn Berry and journalist Howard Bryant.

Someone is Learning

According to the Post Millennial:

The National Hockey League has announced that effective immediately, players will no longer be allowed to wrap their sticks with rainbow-colored tape before hitting the ice on Pride nights, should their team choose to host one at all.

The move comes just months after officials banned Pride jerseys from being worn by those on the ice or behind the bench following backlash from many who said being obligated to do so violated their personal freedoms and sincerely held beliefs.

According to the Associated Press, the league sent out a memo to teams last week explaining that updates had been made regarding participation in themed nights.

Under the new guidelines, players cannot alter their equipment to show support for various causes, be it Pride, military appreciation, or Hockey Fights Cancer. They can, however, do as they please off the ice.

Does It Really Matter?

MSN has an article called I’m a bisexual woman married to a man. People questioning my sexuality caused me to come out queer instead. I thought this was a rather off article and decided to read it.

Let’s go through the article:

  • I dated men and women as a young adult and identified as a bisexual. 
  • People started questioning my bisexuality when I married my husband. 
  • I decided to come out as queer instead. 

I grew up in a home where I was frequently told it was OK to be gay, so I never had a formal coming out. I simply brought my first girlfriend home. Of course, it confused my family who had known me as a boy-crazy teenager. But the surprise quickly faded, and I continued to date men and women as a young adult.

But in 2014, I met my now husband who immediately accepted my bisexuality. I felt so content because I could express my sexuality while being comfortable in my relationship. People outside my relationship, though, criticized me for identifying as bisexual but choosing to settle down with a man.

I play rugby, which intersects with the queer community. Years ago, on the sidelines of a game, my teammates were trying to guess who was queer.

I told them I was bisexual, and I’ll never forget their reactions. “You don’t count,” one said. “Yeah, you picked a side,” said another, referring to my husband.

Coming from queer people, this felt like an irrefutable truth, and it meant I wasn’t part of the LGBTQ+ community. I carried that heavy weight with me for a long time. It also didn’t help when people asked if I still had to tell people I was bisexual because I was married now.

My husband has always been extremely supportive of me expressing my queerness.

But when I decided to marry him, I did not become straight, just as I would not have become a lesbian if I married a woman. As the tired saying goes, it’s not a phase. Bisexuality is not a phase that lasts until you pick a life partner.

But I was tired of trying to define and defend who I was attracted to and why. I remembered an old friend who, when asked about her sexuality, said, “I don’t know. I’m just queer.”

I tried the word queer on and it felt right — more right than bisexual ever did. Under the umbrella of queer, my sexuality could ebb and flow, morph, and grow. “Queer” didn’t need explaining, or an Urban Dictionary lookup, or another flag to replace my perfectly good rainbow one.

As a queer person, I felt like I could just exist.

I understood why most people around me felt I “didn’t count.” In a hetero-passing relationship, I have the privilege of experiencing queer joy, attending pride, and waving my tricolored flag, while also being able to hide my queerness if I was in unsafe environments. I’m not the target of hate speech, I won’t be refused service at an anti-gay business, and my right to marry my husband was never questioned.

So I don’t call out other members of the LGBTQ+ community who say I “don’t count.” I acknowledge there are burdens I will never carry, and I’m thankful to all those who have welcomed me into the community with open arms.

But still: I am queer. I always have been, and I always will be. That doesn’t change if I’m married or single. I will always be me.

American sports legend Mary Lou Retton, who captured the attention of the nation when she won the all-around women’s gymnastics competition at the 1984 Summer Olympics, has been hospitalized, according to a statement from her daughter.

Retton is “fighting for her life” as she battles pneumonia in an intensive care unit, McKenna Lane Kelley said this week. 

Kelley’s Instagram post also noted that Retton “is not able to breathe on her own.”

More Hate in America

There is more hateful information against Israel all courtesy of the United States.

First, Israel issues a dire warning about the use of TikTok. According to the Daily Wire:

Israeli parents are reportedly being warned to remove TikTok and Instagram apps from their children’s mobile phones as Hamas intends to release videos of Israelis taken hostage begging for their lives.

It shouldn’t take terrorists to get parents to remove TikTok.

Of course, schools are showing their anti-Semitic hate. According to the Daily Wire:

The largest network of campus anti-Israel groups is organizing a “Day of Resistance” on Thursday to rally support for the deadly Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, calling the murder of nearly 1,000 Israelis, including women and children, a “historic win for the Palestinian resistance.”

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a national group with a presence on college campuses across the country, says it has an “unshakable responsibility” to answer the Palestinian terrorists’ call for mass protests in the wake of the attack on Israel. 

“Our people choose resistance over negotiated cages on our homeland,” the group states in a Day of Resistance Toolkit, a copy of which was obtained by The Daily Wire. “Fearlessly, our people struggle for complete liberation and return.” 

The call for complete liberation and return is an explicit call for the elimination of Israel, which is a shared goal of the Hamas terrorist groups. The SJP toolkit calls Hamas’ terror attacks a “historic win” and refers to terrorists as “martyrs.”

“We witness a historic win for the Palestinian resistance: across land, air, and sea, our people have broken down the artificial barriers of the Zionist entity, taking with it the facade of an impenetrable settler colony and reminding each of us that total return and liberation to Palestine is near,” the toolkit states. “As the Palestinian student movement, we have an unshakable responsibility to join the call for mass mobilization.”

“National liberation is near— glory to our resistance, to our martyrs, and to our steadfast people,” it reads. 

Then there’s Starbucks. Well, not necessarily the company but their socialist, non binary employees who want to unionize the stores. According to the Daily Wire:

A Starbucks labor union with past ties to prominent members of the Democratic Party expressed “solidarity” with the people group that backed an unprecedented terrorist attack on Israel.

A social media account for Starbucks Workers United posted “Solidarity with Palestine!” following the deadliest terror attack on Israeli soil in the nation’s history, according to The Washington Free Beacon. The attack was carried out by Hamas, an Iran-backed terror group elected to lead Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The attack left over 1,200 civilians dead and thousands wounded, marking the deadliest single day for Jews since the Holocaust.

The union has since deleted the post, made on X, formerly known as Twitter, according to the Free Beacon, which captured a screenshot of the image. Starbucks Workers United is an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and represents roughly 9,000 baristas.

And you thought you were just getting a half-calf, half-decaf, extra hot, mocha latte. Nope, you were also supporting terrorists.

It Figures

According to the Post Millennial:

The European Union had sent out a warning letter to Musk over what it describes as alleged disinformation surrounding the Hamas attack on Israel.

This threat to Musk comes less than two months after the EU passed a swath of new laws that target online social media content.

Thierry Breton, the commissioner who drafted the letter, urged Musk to deliver a “prompt, accurate, and complete response” to “relevant law enforcement agencies” within a 24-hour period. 

Musk can be slapped with a fine of 6 percent of his revenues from X and even have the platform blocked in the EU should he not comply, The Guardian reports. 

“Following the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel, we have indications your platform is being used to disseminate illegal content and disinformation in the EU,” Breton wrote.

“Public media and civil society organisations widely report instances of fake and manipulated images and facts circulating on your platform in the EU, such as repurposed old images of unrelated armed conflicts or military footage that actually originated from video games. This appears to be manifestly false or misleading information,” he continued.

“Let me remind you that the Digital Services Act sets very precise obligations regarding content moderation,” Breton threatened.

Who’s Evil, Now?

According to The Blaze:

A male who believes he is a woman lashed out at female weightlifters and organizers in Canada, mocking female competitors as “hateful” “bigots” ahead of the event.

The Canadian Strongman Nationals, October 22-23, 2023, will feature the “Strongest Woman in Canada” competition, the “Strongman National Championships,” and more.

At least one male participant, transgender Audrey Yun, will be reportedly competing in a new category, according to Icons.

“Yun attacks competitors, reps and founders after Strongman Corp Canada changed eligibility guidelines for women’s category in record speed after [Maria Barwig],[April Hutchinson] and other female competitors spoke out against injustice in women’s strength competitions,” the women’s organization wrote on X.

“Yun is set to compete in a new third category established in the sport although recent vitriolic social media posts could have him banned for violating bullying and harassment policy,” the post added.

Icons pointed to social media posts by Yun that showed a high level of vitriol toward competitors and staff.

“Man I am so disgusted to go to nationals and be around vile evil bigots. Yea the competitors, the reps, founders, etc too many of them. Just downright hateful and evil. Absolute bullies the lot of them,” Yun said on Instagram.

“I wonder if they’ll have a problem with me pissing next to them at the venue,” he continued. “(Yes they will they’ve already said so out loud),” the post added.

The Strongman Corporation notes on its website that it has a commitment to “inclusion” for “all gender athletes.”

Gee, I Wonder Who’s Going to Win?

According to Fox News:

A 28-year-old flight attendant became the first transgender contestant to take home the title of Miss Portugal, adding to the number headed to the Miss Universe competition in El Salvador next month.

“Proud to be the first trans woman to compete for the Miss Universe Portugal title!” Marina Machete wrote in an Instagram post before the competition. 

“For many years I wasn’t eligible to compete and now it’s such an honor to be a part of this incredible group of candidates!”

Machete will be the second transgender contestant headed to the Miss Universe competition next month, competing against Rikkie Valerie Kollé, another transgender contestant who made history by becoming the first biological male to claim the crown in the Netherlands in July.

There seems to be a narrative flying out there. Everyone on the Left is basically saying the same thing: The violence has to stop. Some say it in dumber ways than others.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has departed Israel after taking shelter in the country when Hamas launched a surprise attack from Gaza this weekend, his office announced on Sunday.

In a statement, the Booker team said:

“On Friday, October 6, Senator Booker arrived in Israel for several days of planned meetings and site visits ahead of the start of an Abraham Accords-focused N7 summit on regional economic integration in Tel Aviv, at which he was scheduled to speak on Tuesday.

“Senator Booker and accompanying staff were in Jerusalem when Hamas launched their attacks against Israel on Saturday, and sheltered in place for their safety. We are grateful that Senator Booker and our colleagues were able to safely depart Israel earlier today.”

I’m sure he will make this into another Spartacus moment.

The U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs released a statement on social media:

“We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred. We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.”

Needless to say, this was not especially taken well, especially since 1200 people were murdered and twice that were injured. They took the post down.

Rashida Tlaib was pretty quiet about this. She’s a big terrorist fan. Then, she finally released a statement:

“I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day. I am determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity.

“The path to the future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.

“The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer. No person, no child anywhere should have to suffer or live in fear of violence. We cannot ignore the humanity in each other. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.”

Pretty much what I expected.

  • Israel doesn’t deserve to exist.
  • Israel brought it on themselves.
  • Israel should turn tail and appease the terrorists.

Ilhan Omar also made the terrorists victims:

“May peace prevail in the region and move us towards a moral awakening to care about the human suffering we are seeing. Palestinians are human beings who have been in besieged and are deserving of protection from the international community.”

Sorry, but no. Hamas are terrorists that must be extinguished. They do not have human rights there. They treat their people like slaves. We need to do anything we can to eradicate them. They are evil.

Black Lives Matter advocate and all around nutjob, Cori Bush released a statement:

Yes, this attack was equal on both sides. The Palestinians suffered as much as the Israelis. Except the Israelis didn’t shout 2500 missiles into the Gaza Strip.

AOC also released a statement:

Again, the terrorists are victims.

Summer Lee made a similar statement:

The New York Democratic Socialists of America are rallying in Times Square to celebrate the terrorist attacks and kidnappings in Israel. They have also been gathering in San Francisco. It has been noted that Nazi flags have been spotted within this group.

The protests have been condemned in New York by Leftists politicians like Kathy Hochul.

That’s always a nice thing to see.

Black lives Matter has released a statement supporting the Palestinian terrorists.

The United Nations has had a moment of silence for the deaths of Palestinians.

Here is a Colorado representative being asked if he condemns what the terrorists did.

New research out of the US and London shows that shouting at children can be just as harmful to them as sexual or physical abuse.

The study, commissioned by the UK charity Words Matter, was published this month in the journal Child Abuse & Neglect. It calls for childhood verbal abuse (CVA) to be officially recognized as a “form of maltreatment.”

In making this determination, researchers from Wingate University in North Carolina and University College London (UCL) analyzed 149 quantitative and 17 qualitative studies examining CVA.

Study authors found that the definitional themes of abuse included “negative speech volume, tone, and speech content, and their immediate impact.”

The most common perpetrators of CVA are parents, mothers, and teachers, the study found.

Some of the effects of CVA can last throughout a child’s life.

The abuse can create “underlying emotional and psychological repercussions,” which include obesity, increased risks of anger, substance abuse, depression, and self-harm, UCL said in a statement.

Researchers say there needs to be a better way of defining CVA.

Currently, four categories comprise childhood maltreatment: physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect.

In the new era of soft culture, children will not have to experience the tragic death of Bambi’s mother as Disney announced that the film will be altered for its live-action remake to appease “sensitive” audiences.

The release date for the 1942 Disney classic “Bambi” has not yet been announced, but a producer of the film told Collider that significant changes will be made to the plot to change how the death of Bambi’s mother is portrayed in the movie.

Screenwriter Lindsey Anderson Beer told the publication, “Not to spoil the plot, but there’s a treatment of the dying mom that I think some kids, some parents these days are more sensitive about than they were in the past.”

“And I think that’s one of the reasons that they haven’t shown it to their children,” Beer claimed.

“I do think there is a way to update Bambi and our take on it was did give a little bit more of a scope to it. And I just think that to be able to bring it to life for kids these days in a way that maybe they relate to a little bit more would be of service to the original,” she said.

The changes to Bambi come as Disney has been lambasted by critics for its recent “woke” remakes of live-action films such as “The Little Mermaid” and “Snow White.” Critics took issue with the racial change in the casting of Ariel, while the Snow White remake, which has not yet been released, has replaced the seven dwarves with “magical creatures” of all different genders.

My guess is that Bambi is going to have to father deer and will be non-binary fighting the patriarchy perpetrated by that misogynist Thumper.

Criminal charges are now pending against the trans-identified male student who was seen on video violently beating a female student at Hazelbrook Middle School near Portland, Oregon.

Ray Cameron, Director of Washington County Juvenile Department, confirmed in a statement to Reduxx that charges are pending and a petition has been filed in juvenile court against the trans attacker.

“A petition has been filed with the Juvenile Court and the charges are pending. In light of Oregon records law pertaining to juveniles, we are not able to comment further regarding this particular youth,” Cameron said. “The Washington County Juvenile Department remains committed to enhancing community safety and breaking the cycle of delinquency through effective evidence-based intervention practices and holding youth accountable for their behavior.”

The brutal beatdown shows the trans-identified student, a biological male, throwing multiple blows to the female student’s head after he violently grabbed her hair, yanked her back and forth, then knocked her down flat in the school hallway.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her lefty Democratic Socialist comrades aren’t just targeting the 1 percenters anymore.

The New York City congresswoman and her progressive posse are pushing to slam the “top 5%” of New Yorkers with a massive total $15 billion in state income-tax hikes that would hit households making just over $250,000 a year —  well below millionaires’ row, an analysis says.

The eye-popping proposed tax increase comes as a new study released Tuesday by Upgraded Points found that New York suffered the largest exodus of wealthy millennials ages 26 to 45 who made more than $200,000 than any other state — a 4.6% reduction, or a net drain, of 27,101 prime-aged taxpaying earners.

That’s more than double the 2.3% loss of affluent millennials in California, according to 2021 tax returns. Among the largest states, Florida had the biggest influx of millennials, a 5.6% jump.

But AOC and the socialist left claim that taxing even lower to mid-six-figure earners is good for New York.

“The vast majority of us have felt the strain of rising prices from the grocery aisle to the housing market,” the AOC-allied Democratic Socialists of America said in a recent Sept. 18 press release. “Meanwhile, the richest New Yorkers have grown their wealth since the pandemic, and it’s past time they pay their fair share.

“Along with real housing solutions, socialists in office have been fighting for full funding of schools, higher-education, and healthcare. We can pay for these public services by raising taxes on the top 5% of New Yorkers,” the statement said.

A new poll shows that a shocking number of French citizens support banning people from flying more than four times in their lives due to climate change.

A poll from research firm Consumer Science and Analytics Institute (CSA) found that 41% of citizens would support such a limit. That number rose to 59% support among 18-24-year-olds. The suggested limit, proposed by engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici, would apply to air travel for business and pleasure.

The poll surveyed 1,010 French residents over the age of 18. It found that support for air travel restrictions was far higher among younger age groups. While a majority opposed the four-flight lifetime maximum, 64% of the respondents said they would be willing to limit their air travel in the near or medium term to combat climate change.

Climate activists across the globe have pushed for wide-ranging restrictions aimed at reducing carbon emissions, from limiting car travel to banning plastic straws.

Burglars have been raiding yachts and houseboats in the Oakland-Alameda Estuary in a surge one resident compared to the pirate movie “Captain Phillips.”

They steal anything of value, then either sink the ships or dump the remnants of plundered boats miles away in the Oakland Harbor or along its shorelines, said Dan Hill, who lives on his boat like many other families in the 800-foot waterway.

Each “attack” can cost the owner thousands to tens of thousands of dollars, Hill said.

Some in the tight-knit boating community have talked of arming themselves as jurisdiction question marks and eroding law enforcement staffing levels complicate the issue. 

“It’s probably the most popular boating area in San Francisco Bay,” Hill told Fox News Digital of the Alameda side of the estuary. “The weather’s great. It’s a lovely little place that the people love going to. It’s protected. It’s beautiful.”

But since the summer, he and many other residents believe the homeless encampments in and around Oakland overtook the estuary and wreaked havoc on their daily lives.

A Texas teacher has been fired after a video emerged on Tiktok in which she appears to be defending pedophilia, according to The Daily Mail.

English teacher Amber Parker can be heard in the 15-second video clip saying to a student, “Stop calling them that …We’re not going to call them that. We’re going to call them MAPs – Minor Attracted Persons. So don’t judge people just because they want to have sex with a five-year-old.”

The incident occurred last week, and Parker was swiftly suspended. However, El Paso’s Independent School District board of trustees has since voted unanimously to fire her.

But not everyone agrees with the board’s decision. Some students are defending Parker saying that her words were taken out of context.

Ryann Ruvalcaba, a student at the school, told Fox17, “She [teacher] was expressing how it was ridiculous how we [society] might not be able to call people pedophiles. That we [society] will probably have to start calling them MAPs because it can be offensive to them [pedophiles]. The class agreed.”

Another person who initially defended Parker was board trustee Daniel Call, who said in a Facebook post that he didn’t think Parker was promoting or normalizing pedophilia, but instead pretending to advocate a position to challenge her students and prepare them to read the book, The Crucible, according to KFOX14.

Taking puberty-blocking drugs has been shown to cause mental health issues in trans children, according to a recent analysis from the University of Essex.

In re-examining the results of a previous study, the U.K. researchers determined that one-third of the youth with gender dysphoria (GD) experienced a decline in mental health after taking triptorelin.

Sold under the brand name Trelstar, triptorelin is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist that reduces the amount of certain hormones in the body.

The original study, which came from NHS’s Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) at Tavistock and University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in 2021, analyzed 44 children between the ages of 12 and 15 who took puberty-blocking drugs.

The children were all deemed “psychologically stable,” but all of them had been classified as having gender dysphoria, with a “high likelihood of extreme psychological distress with ongoing pubertal development,” the study authors wrote in the journal entry discussing the findings.

At the time, the researchers determined that the drugs had no impact on the kids’ mental health over a 36-month follow-up period.

The new analysis of the study, however, determined that 34% of the trans youth experienced a decline in mental health while taking puberty blockers.

At the same time, 37% reported no change in mental health and 29% noticed an improvement.

To determine the extent of mental health changes, the researchers looked at emotional factors (anxiety, depression, social withdrawals and somatic complaints) as well as behavioral signals, such as attention problems and aggressive behaviors, according to the researchers. They also analyzed sleep difficulties.

Cartels are collectively Mexico’s fifth-largest employer, according to a recent study, and some Republican presidential candidates are ready to take them out with military force.

A mathematical model of the criminal organizations’ recruitments and losses revealed that Mexican cartels collectively employ some 175,000 people, according to a study published in the journal Science. The groups have been blamed for flooding fentanyl into the U.S. Over 200,000 Americans have overdosed and died from synthetic opioids like fentanyl since 2020, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Gov. Ron DeSantis “is fully committed to sending U.S. Special Forces into Mexico to combat the drug cartels, deploying the U.S. military to stop the invasion, and authorizing deadly force against cartel drug smugglers breaking into our country,” a spokesperson for the Florida Republican’s presidential campaign told Fox News.

DeSantis, the only candidate who has served in the military, has also supported the use of drone strikes against the criminal groups. Other candidates, such as former President Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley have similarly said that, if they were elected to the Oval Office, they too would deploy U.S. special forces to combat the cartels.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has allocated $25 million to UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism “to support and strengthen local reporting in underserved and historically underrepresented areas across the state,” according to a Wednesday announcement from the university.

Dean of the journalism school at Berkeley, Geeta Anand, stated the reasons for the move and how the school will use the money.

“We’ve got three reasons for taking this on,” she tweeted. “1: we all see the world through the prism of our own lived experiences. So, who our storytellers are matters. If we don’t have a diverse group of people becoming journalists, then we miss stories that matter.”

“This is core to Berkeley Journalism’s mission: removing the economic barriers for journalists who have historically been excluded from the industry. It’s why 1/4 of our new class are 1st-gen college students, and nearly 60 percent are from communities underrepresented in journalism.”

The second reason, according to Anand, is to prevent “corruption and disinformation” from “flood[ing] the zone. “Democracy is in trouble. We need to put journalism to work to protect it,” she wrote. “That’s what this project aims to do by putting talented early career journalists into local news organizations around the state.”

As for the final reason, Anand wrote that it’s time for the government to invest more in journalism as a “public good,” a term that is reminiscent of countries that own the majority or all of its media companies, like the Voice of China conglomerate being funded by the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party.

“This may re-set the debate about the role of the public sector in journalism,” Anand wrote. “Private philanthropy can only do so much, and billionaire owners aren’t a solution. How states and communities can support journalism as a public good needs to be at the center of our thinking.”

This Isn’t Going to Improve Attendance

According to the Washington Post:

In the shadow of Cologne’s Gothic cathedral, the St. Stephan’s Youth Choir struck up a chorus of “All You Need Is Love” as couples — men with men, women with women, and women with men — lined up to have their unions blessed by ordained Catholic priests wearing rainbow stoles.

It was an act of love — but also sedition, in direct defiance of the Vatican’s decree that same-sex unions should not be celebrated or recognized.

The German Catholic Church, long known for pushing the boundaries of the faith, has been translating frustrations among progressive Catholics in pockets throughout Europe into a veritable revolt. The question for 1.3 billion Catholics now is whether the German church is in flagrant disobedience — or showing a different path.

Pope Francis has reprimanded Germany’s Catholic leadership. He quipped to the head of its bishops’ conference last year that Germany already had one protestant church — “We don’t need two.” On Monday, however, the Vatican released a document that seemed to open a door to blessing same-sex unions and the study of female priests.

In the letter, dated Sept. 25, Francis wrote that there are “situations” that may not be “morally acceptable” but where a priest can assess, on a case-by-case basis, whether blessings may be given — as long as such blessings are kept separate from the sacrament of marriage.

“We cannot be judges who only deny, push back and exclude,” Francis wrote. “As such, pastoral prudence must adequately discern whether there are forms of blessing, requested by one or several people, that do not convey a wrong idea of a matrimony. Because when one seeks a blessing, one is requesting help from God.”

His words appeared to contradict a 2021 Vatican statement that confirmed a ban on blessing same-sex couples. Francis has also notably removed the conservative official said to be the architect of that decision and appointed a fellow Argentine who has seemed to take a different view.

Francis’s letter released Monday appeared to reveal less movement on the question of ordination for women. He wrote that Pope John Paul II had ruled against female priests and that the decision must be respected for now. But he also suggested the topic could be further researched.

Both the role of women in the church and blessings for same-sex couples, as well as the possibility of a married priesthood, are among the divisive topics on the agenda as Catholic leaders gather at the Vatican this week for the most sweeping summit on the direction of the faith since the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s.

Francis has already been facing a revolt on the right, with his most bitter conservative critics decrying him as a heretic. They have maligned the arcanely named Synod on Synodality — running from Wednesday through Oct. 29 — as a smokescreen for liberal reform.

Vatican watchers were not expecting big pronouncements, as the synod will convene again next fall and ultimately send recommendations to the pope then. And the Vatican has been playing down any notions of rapid reform.

But Francis has raised the hopes of progressives — and stoked the fears of traditionalists — that the church might, on some issues, begin to move in the direction of Germany.

German churches have been inviting women to say the homily at Mass and to baptize babies. Scores of German priests and monks have come out as celibate gay men, while some Catholic schools and churches have begun flying rainbow flags. A majority of German bishops have backed Catholic blessings of same-sex unions, calls for female deacons and the ordination of older, married men as priests.

“Many progressive Catholics look to the German church for a hopeful sense of where the church might be going,” said the Rev. James Martin, a U.S. delegate at the synod known for his ministry to LGBTQ+ Catholics. “But of course, just as many traditional Catholics look upon the German church with suspicion.”

The synod opening Wednesday — on the feast day of St. Francis — is not a political process, Vatican officials contend, but a chance for discussion, to “discern” God’s will for the direction of the church.

It requires that participants attempt to talk to each other — understanding that they represent an institution that encompasses German, Belgian and Swiss bishops who are already allowing blessings of same-sex couples, as well as American, African and Asian bishops who decry them.

The 364 voting delegates, observers say, include a relative balance of centrists, traditionalists and reformers, with some of the most extreme players on both sides left out.

But conservatives, including dozens of bishops from the United States, complain the synod is stacked against them.

They call its structure — which for the first time will allow laymen and women voting rights equal to cardinals and bishops — fundamentally un-Catholic. They see program documents asking for “concrete steps” to better welcome LGBTQ+ Catholics and people in polygamous marriages, among other categories, as dangerous.

Conservatives fear the synod process will open what they see as a Pandora’s box, eventually leading to unprecedented change on priestly celibacy, the acceptance of homosexuality and the elevation of women in a historically patriarchal church. They warn it could bring about a new schism, or split, in the world’s largest Christian faith.

Francis’s letter released Monday was written in response to a challenge, known as a dubia, issued by five conservative cardinals. They called on him to reinforce Catholic doctrine that condemns homosexuality and reserves ordination for “baptized males” only.

“The primary concern is that the pope will authorize things that are not contained in Catholic doctrine or that will contradict it — such as women deacons, blessing gay unions,” or weaken Catholic teachings against contraception and abortion by emphasizing individual conscience, said the Rev. Gerald Murray, a New York City priest who was not invited to the synod but will be in Rome doing commentary for conservative outlets.

“We’re not Protestants,” he said.

Francis raised the prospect of change early in his papacy, intoning “Who am I to judge?” when asked about gay Catholics. But he has been exceedingly cautious about altering doctrine. For instance, he has shied away from allowing married priests in the Amazon region, where extreme clerical shortages seemed to warrant it.

But as the 86-year-old pope looks to cement his legacy, much will depend on where he lands on these issues — whether he decides to urge the church closer to progressive positions. He faces the challenge of how to assuage liberal Europeans, in places where the church is rich but dying, without alienating fast-growing if more traditional churches in the developing world.

Meanwhile, in Germany:

The Cologne Cathedral, where relics of the Three Kings are said to rest, is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. The writings of a rogue German priest named Martin Luther were publicly burned in its courtyard in 1520. Late last month, it served as the backdrop for a modern Catholic clash.

The Rev. Wolfgang Rothe, a wiry, openly gay German Catholic priest, organized the group blessing in reaction to a local cardinal, one of the few in Germany still disciplining priests for blessing same-sex couples. Rothe used the service as a rallying cry for the synod.

“I call on you, tell the pope, tell the synod of bishops, tell the world church: The current sexual morality of the Catholic Church is outdated,” he said. “It is unbiblical and immoral … a slap in the face of the loving God. This sexual morality belongs on the trash heap of church history.”

Nearby, a gaggle of conservative opponents prayed the rosary in protest. More radical elements on both sides — far-right Catholics and left-wing activists — jostled amid bullhorns and placards, and police intervened.

The Catholic Church in Germany is facing a crisis.

Measurable through a national church tax, German Catholics have been abandoning the church in record numbers — 522,000 last year alone. In a poll of those who had recently left the faith, the most common reason specified was the church’s handling of sexual abuse; the second its rejection of homosexuality.

Catholic bishops and laypeople in Germany sought to address that disaffection as they formulated their contribution to Francis’s synod, through a body called the Synodal Way.

Francis warned from the outset against a unilateral effort. “Every time the ecclesial community tried to get out of its problems alone, trusting and focusing exclusively on its strength or its methods, its intelligence, its will or prestige, it ended up increasing and perpetuating the evils it was trying to solve,” he wrote in a 2019 letter.

Nonetheless, by March of this year, Germany’s Synodal Way had proposed sweeping changes, including the ordination of female deacons and a reexamination of priestly celibacy in addition to same-sex blessings.

German bishops have mostly backed the proposals, while trying to buy time on some topics. They supported the ordination of female deacons, for instance, while conceding they first needed the permission of the Vatican.

But they have also grown more daring. In a country where the Catholic Church is the second-largest employer — with 800,000 workers, or six times more than Mercedes-Benz — German bishops amended the church’s labor law last year, so people can no longer be fired for being in a same-sex relationship or remarrying after divorce.

And in March, a majority of German bishops voted to allow blessings of same-sex couples — separate and distinct from the sacrament of marriage, but with standardized ceremonies to be drafted by 2026.

Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle are reportedly among those being considered to replace late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. 

Winfrey’s name is among those being floated for the role, according to Newsmax and The Desert Sun, but the successful TV host-turned-billionaire book publisher and entrepreneur indicated as recently as in May that she “is not considering the seat should it become vacant,” according to the Los Angeles Times. 

It was announced Friday that Feinstein died at age 90. All eyes have since turned to Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who will appoint someone to serve out the remaining 13 months of Feinstein’s term. The two term governor, who attended the second GOP debate in Simi Valley last week on behalf of President Biden’s re-election campaign to lead counter Republican messaging, has stated in the past he will appoint a Black woman to the Senate in the event of Feinstein’s passing. 

Oprah Winfrey is not the worst pick. She is smart and an accomplished woman. Yes, she has crazy, elitist views.

She also has no desire to be a senator. Right now, everyone likes her. If she becomes a politician, half the population won’t like her. That’s bad for her brand. She has already made clear she wants nothing to do with politics.

Meanwhile, sources told The Daily Mail that the Duchess of Sussex’s name has also been thrown in the ring as Feinstein’s potential replacement. 

She and Prince Harry reside in Montecito, California.

“Meghan is definitely a long-shot but in the craziness that is US politics these days it’s not an impossibility. Crazier things have happened,” a major Democratic donor told the Mail. 

Markle’s name was reportedly considered for the U.S. Senate before the 2020 election when Biden chose Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate. At that time, a senior Labour Party source told the Mail that Markle had been “networking among senior Democrats” on the venture of building a grassroots campaign eventually targeting a presidential bid of her own. 

Markle has grown a close friendship with Gloria Steinem. A friend fo Steinem’s told the Mail, “Gloria has been introducing Meghan to pivotal people within the party.”

Let’s see:

Turning Us into a Third World Country

There’s a meme out there showing two sides of a wall within the same country. One has beautiful big houses with big yards and green trees in front of beaches. The other side is a bunch of wood shanties and makeshift shelters. The beautiful area has the title “Elite”. The other side has the title, “everyone else”.

Well that meme is coming to life. According to the Daily Wire:

A Texas land developer has established a sprawling settlement north of Houston where thousands of illegal immigrants are believed to have settled, raising concerns among experts and elected officials that the development 400 miles in the interior of the United States could become a strategic asset for cartels.

Located in Liberty County, Texas near the small town of Plum Grove, the Colony Ridge development is a sprawling community that, based on an analysis of publicly available information, is now over 60 square miles and nearly the size of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Its population is estimated to be anywhere between 50,000 to 75,000, and it is growing rapidly thanks to a marketing plan targeted at Texas’ hispanic population.

The Daily Wire surveyed the development by helicopter to assess the true extent of its growth. The flight began in the wealthy Woodlands neighborhood, but it was only minutes before the designer homes and pools gave way to half-built homes, dilapidated trailers, and heaps of trash.

Houses on the ground fly the flags of foreign countries and many homes display their addresses on spray painted pieces of plywood. Many structures, some of which are not hooked up to running water, were under construction, while others were unfinished but didn’t appear to be actively getting worked on. At least one plot of land didn’t have any structures at all, just a tent in the corner, nestled between shrubs. Stray dogs without collars could be seen trotting along the side of the underdeveloped streets.

Colony Ridge, owned and operated by developer William “Trey” Harris, is rapidly expanding, at least in part due to a financing arrangement that makes it possible for illegal aliens to buy land deep in the heart of Texas. While traditional financing methods require credit ratings and proof of income, Todd Bensman, a National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, told The Daily Wire that buyers at Colony Ridge are able to circumvent the usual requirements, even dodging the need to provide a social security number.

“Because with a traditional bank loan you need to be able to show that you have a credit rating and proof of income,” Bensman said, adding that buyers at Colony Ridge are asked to pay as little as a “few hundred dollars” as a down payment. “The loan is directly from the developer, bypassing traditional mortgages,” and while the buyer might pay high interest rates near 15%, it’s a great deal for someone with no other option to buy land in the country, Bensman explained.

Doing business as Terrenos Houston (which translates to Houston Land), the company appears to market its property entirely in Spanish, telling prospective buyers they can own land in the United States. An advertisement posted on the Instagram page for Terrenos Houston appears to target those who are either not currently living in the United States or who are not citizens of the country. The caption of the post, written in Spanish, roughly translates to “Still renting? Own land in the United States!”

So if you’re an American, good luck. If you’re an illegal alien, welcome to land ownership!

It encourages potential buyers to reach out via Whatsapp, known as “a go-to app for millions of people who need to communicate internationally” because it “operates using an internet connection, bypassing traditional international calling restrictions and fees.” Numerous posts are hashtagged “#EstadosUnidos.”

But in addition to marketing to those who might want to “own land in the United States,” many of the development’s employees appear to be foreign nationals, living in Colombia and other Latin American countries, according to the Terrenos Houston LinkedIn profile.

The plots of land come with nothing on them and at an affordable price — the current offer is two adjacent plots of land for $65,000, with the buyers responsible for constructing a place to live.

The developer of the land has yet to comment.

The gist of the story is they are building a shanty town and marketing the properties to illegal aliens. Cartels are already beginning to show up because of the cheap property and the lack of a police force. Crimes including drug trafficking, human trafficking and murder are already occurring on the land.

The article also goes into the questionable source of funds for this project. It’s really complicated and almost sounds like there might be some money laundering involved (are the cartels involved in that too?)

Since the Daily Wire released the story it has been picked up by conservative outlets like Fox News, Post Millennial, the Blaze and Newsmax.

Politicians are also aware of the settlement. An entire delegation of politicians from Texas and Washington D.C. are surveying the area and asking questions after seeing it, including Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott.

Why Isn’t She in Jail?

According to ESPN:

Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer and the San Diego woman who first accused him of sexual assault, triggering the investigation that led to an unprecedented suspension from Major League Baseball, have settled their civil lawsuits outside of court, with no money exchanged between the two parties.

The woman accused Bauer of sexually assaulting her during two encounters in the spring of 2021, prompting the former Cy Young Award winner to be placed on administrative leave that July. The woman was later denied a permanent restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court, and the district attorney’s office declined to file criminal charges against Bauer. But MLB — which has the authority to apply punishment outside the criminal justice system and spoke to other women who made similar accusations — handed Bauer a 324-game suspension in April 2022, twice longer than the previous high under its domestic violence policy.

An independent arbitrator shortened the suspension to 194 games in December and ruled that Bauer be reinstated, prompting the Dodgers to release Bauer, who is currently pitching in Japan.

Bauer sued the woman for defamation in April 2022, and the woman countersued for sexual battery four months later. Court proceedings had been scheduled to begin in February, but both sides have agreed to drop their respective cases. The woman, Lindsey Hill, will receive $300,000 in insurance policy proceeds that will be sent in a trust account to her lawyers’ offices, according to an email from Hill’s lawyers that was provided by a representative with Bauer.

“Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill have settled all outstanding litigation,” Bauer’s attorneys, Jon Fetterolf and Shawn Holley, wrote in a statement on Monday. “Both of their respective claims have been withdrawn with prejudice, effective today. Mr. Bauer did not make — and never has made — any payments to Ms. Hill, including to resolve their litigation. With this matter now at rest, Mr. Bauer can focus completely on baseball.”

ESPN did not name the woman in this case in previous reporting, and generally does not identify individuals who say they have been sexually assaulted, but her legal team identified her in comments on Monday.

One of Hill’s attorneys, Bryan Freedman, wrote the following in a statement: “In April 2022, Trevor Bauer sued Lindsey Hill for defamation. In what turned out to be an outstanding resolution for Lindsey, neither Lindsey nor anyone on her behalf paid anything to Bauer. Not a single dollar. Even better, Lindsey received $300,000 from her insurance company. Based on that payment, Lindsey agreed to settle the lawsuit. Now that the lawsuit is over, Lindsey looks forward to helping others.”

According to the New York Post:

A record-setting number of migrants crossed the southern border into the United States in September, with over 260,000 encounters reported by Customs and Border Protection in the last 30 days, according to a report.

The stunning figure — which is roughly the population of St. Petersburg, Florida —  is the highest monthly total ever reported by border officials as the country grapples with the migrant crisis, CBP sources told Fox News.

That number includes both CBP encounters between ports of entry and Office of Field Operations (OFO) encounters at ports, Fox reported.

The previous record was set last December, when CBP officials reported 252,320 migrant encounters. 

Crossings were trending downward through much of the new year however they skyrocketed in recent months. Just last week, CBP announced there were at least 230,000 migrant encounters in August.

By the way, that means 8700 are crossing a day. Remember, New York is screaming when they get 1000 illegal aliens a month.

The Ruin of the Country Has Been Stayed (Sarcasm)

The world was going to catch fire this weekend. That’s right, another existential threat. This time, it involved the mail not running on time. That’s right, a government shutdown.

Here is Rosa DeLauro, purple hair and all, saying that people will actually DIE is we do not pass legislation that keeps the government open. Let’s listen to her so we can get the full effect of how devastating this will be.

OK, let’s get some things straight. This is not a big deal! The world will not end. A few services would be suspended. Everyone would get back pay. The military will get paid. The mail will arrive on Monday. People will have heat! (By the way, isn’t this enough proof not to trust or depend on the government).

Well, all the pearl-clutchers can calm down.

According to the Daily Wire:

The Senate passed a bill late Saturday night to keep the U.S. government open and running through mid-November.

The bill was passed 88-9 with Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Mike Braun (R-IN), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Mike Lee (R-UT), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Rand Paul (R-KY), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), and J.D. Vance (R-OH) voting “no.”

The Senate passed the bill after the House passed the bill earlier in the day with 335 votes — 209 Democrats and 126 Republicans.

The funding includes $16 billion in “disaster relief funds, an extension of a federal flood insurance program and FAA reauthorization — but no Ukraine aid,” The Washington Post reported.

Essentially the Republicans agreed to let the government be funded (spending more than they take in) for another month. The big things republicans wanted, they didn’t get but they did pull the Ukraine funding from the budget.

Did you get that? Ukraine funding was in the bill to keep the government open! By the way, what was also pulled from the bill was funding for border security. The two sides decided to negotiate that separately.

This really upset a bunch of democrats and a bunch of republicans. None of them wanted the vote to go through.

The republicans want a whole lot of spending stopped. A lot of this is nanny state crap like food stamps and welfare. Now, I agree with this. Here’s the problem, none of this is going to happen with a democratic senate and president. He should have tried to do some of this crap when republicans had both houses and the presidency. Nothing happened.

By the way, this was one of the failures of the Trump presidency.

Now Matt Gaetz wants to have Kevin McCarthy kicked out of the speakership. He is joined by some of the dumber republicans of the House such as Marjorie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert. Again, I agree we need to control spending, but it’s not going to happen the way the government is set up now.

Who else wanted this spending bill not to pass and the government to shutdown was the far Left. They wanted the government to shutdown because then they could blame the republicans. They knew there was no way to stop it so they decided to pull a little trick.

Far left Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) was seen pulling a fire alarm at the House office building on Saturday as Democrats were attempting to impede a vote on a Republican-backed stopgap spending bill.

Footage captured showed alarms ringing in the US Capitol building. 

Bowman was caught triggering the alarm on camera. 

“This is the United States Congress, not a New York City high school. To pull the fire alarm to disrupt proceedings when we are trying to draft legislation to AVERT A SHUTDOWN is pathetic…even for members of the socialist squad,” Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Of course, Jamaal Bowman, being completely caught, decides to lie his way out of it. He released a statement and it was pretty weak tea.

Yeah, bullshit. Nobody believes this. Especially since it was all caught on video. Even the media and other Leftists don’t buy it.

Kevin McCarthy had something to say about it:

Karma is a bitch! With all the BS with January 6th, it’s going to be hard to defend this. This is actual interference of a government process. And it was done on purpose.

Democrats don’t even know how to react to this. They can’t say it was no big deal. This is a felony and the entire building was evacuated. It also delayed the vote by over two hours. A little too close to how long the delay was for the certification vote during January 6th. I also want to point out this is a felony.

In his defense, he doesn’t know what to say. This is probably the best statement any democrat can make outside of just saying this guy is a jerkoff and will face consequences. That would be the best thing anyone could say.

This is nothing more than what-about-ism. By the way, no one is defending George Santos. The guy is going to get primaried next year with republican support. Also, George Santos never stopped a political process by committing a felony. So there’s that.

Now, what should happen:

  • Jamaal Bowman should be charged with a felony and be dragged into court.
  • Jamaal Brown should be expelled from Congress. Here, we have a high crime.
  • If nothing happens, which will be the case, we should never again hear about January 6th.
  • No investigations.

There is no need for investigations and hearings. Republicans just need to do what needs to be done and stop beating-around-the-bush. They need to grow some balls.

    • The new minimum wage for fast food workers will apply to restaurants with at least 60 locations nationwide, with an exception for restaurants that make and sell their own bread, like Panera Bread.
    • When it takes effect on April 1, fast food workers in California will have the highest guaranteed base salary in the industry. The state’s minimum wage for all other workers — $15.50 per hour — is already among the highest in the United States.
    • This is going to be a disaster for California.

According to the Daily Wire:

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the implementation of a Texas law banning “sexually oriented” performances in front of minors. 

Judge David Hittner of the Southern District of Texas said that the law violated the First Amendment and chilled free speech in the state. The ruling blocks a law signed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in June. The law has been called a “drag ban” but applies to any sexually oriented performance. 

“Not all people will like or condone certain performances,” Hittner wrote. “This is no different than a person’s opinion on certain comedy or genres of music, but that alone does not strip First Amendment protection. However, in addition to the pure entertainment value there are often political, social, and cultural messages involved in drag performances which strengthen the Plaintiff’s position.”

Hittner, who was appointed by Ronald Reagan, said that the law “impermissibly infringes on the First Amendment and chills free speech.”

He said it would be reasonable to assume that other activities, like cheerleading, dancing, or live theater, could become a crime if the law takes effect. 

According to the law, “A person who controls the premises of a commercial enterprise may not allow a sexually oriented performance to be presented on the premises in the presence of an individual younger than 18 years of age.” It would have allowed violators to be fined up to $10,000.

This is Real Asylum

According to the Daily Wire:

A Christian family of nine who fled persecution in Germany and moved to the United States in 2008 was stunned when immigration agents told it to prepare for deportation after 15 years of life in America, but remains hopeful that “God will make a way” for them to remain in the country they have come to love. 

In a phone interview with The Daily Wire on Wednesday, Uwe Romeike said he and his family, who settled in a small town in Tennessee, were caught off guard when they were told to come in for a meeting with an immigration agent after they just had their annual check-in a few months ago. During that check-in earlier this month, Uwe, his wife Hannelore, and their five oldest children were told to prepare to self-deport, and return in four weeks with their German passports. 

“This came as a surprise. We did not expect anything like this,” Uwe said, adding that the feds have not given them any explanation for the sudden move to deport him and his family. But Uwe, a piano accompanist at Carson-Newman University, said he is trusting God with what happens next.

“We still trust God to make a way for us to stay here. I know it’s kind of impossible, but that’s where we know God can still do the impossible,” Uwe said, adding that if they are forced to go back to Germany, they will face the same type of persecution they fled as they continue to homeschool their two youngest children, such as being fined around $300 a day. 

The attorney representing the Romeikes, Kevin Boden of the Home School Legal Defense Association, told The Daily Wire that it appears Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received new orders on handling the Romeikes, but said it’s unclear where the “change of orders” came from.

Wonder Why They Would Do That?

According to Daily Wire:

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf blocked federal agents from including then Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in their investigation into whether his son, Hunter Biden, violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

The revelation was contained in a new, lengthy report from the House Ways and Means Committee’s investigation of the government’s handling of the investigations into the Biden family.

“As a priority, someone needs to redraft attachment B. I am not sure what this is cut and pasted from but other than the attribution, location and identity stuff at the end, none if it is appropriate and within the scope of this warrant,” Wolf said in an email to FBI and other U.S. officials. “Please focus on FARA evidence only. There should be nothing about Political Figure 1 in here.”
