Movie Review

Episode 619 – Dems Own This!

A new horror movie may have made an inadvertent commentary about the TikTok generation.

It takes men to explain about how to be a woman.

And somebody has some explaining to do at Boston University.

A Surprisingly Good Movie

I’m a big horror guy. There is a movie out on Amazon called Bodies Bodies Bodies. I didn’t have high expectations for this movie because it starred Pete Davidson and I think he’s kind of a jerk. Luckily, he dies really early in the movie.

It’s about a bunch of kids from the TikTok generation getting together to party at a remote mansion. Yes, they’re all rich and living off of mommy and daddy’s money. They decide to play a game called “Bodies Bodies Bodies” which is a game where someone touches someone on the back and that person “dies”. Then the rest need to figure out who killed that person.

Well, it doesn’t work out. They are all drinking and are on drugs and all that ends up happening is Pete Davidson’s character gets into a fight with the other male character. Game over.

Turns out not. Pete Davidson’s character turns out to have his throat slit and now the other character have to figure out who “killed” him.

That’s all you have to know about the movie.

What got me about this movie was not the clever dialog or gripping plot. What got me was the social commentary that came with it. I don’t know if this was done on purpose and, reading the writer’s commentary, I doubt it was, but it was there.

Basically, the movie shows all the flaws of the TikTok generation, better known as Gen Z (born 1996-2010). Everyone gives Millennials the short end of the stick but it is actually Gen Z which are the big criers.

So, what did this movie show?

  • Loose sexual morality.
    • Bisexuality.
    • Sleeping around.
    • Ease of discussing sex and expressing their desires.
  • The terminology of wokeness is all over this movie.
    • Ablism.
    • Sexism.
    • Racism.
    • But this stuff was over the top to the point it looked to be commentary, not woke.
  • Perception and feelings over reason and reality.
  • They are all really dumb.
  • There is an addiction to the Internet and social media. In fact, the main character died while doing something stupid for a TikTok video.
  • The final scene sums it up. The last words in the movie, when the owner of the house shows up, the kid doesn’t explain what happened but simply says, “I have reception” when her phone starts buzzing.

It really is sad to think these people are going to be in charge in a few years.

Living in a Fantasy

If you saw my video on Rumble, you met a guy named Dylan Mulvaney. He is a TikTok influencer who decided to become a woman and record every day that he was a woman. Here’s a little reminder of him.

You need to see the video and how ridiculous this guy looks.

Well, for those who saw that video, here’s a new clip. Here he’s talking about his trip to the store and buying tampons for his period. He must admit his lack of knowledge:

Well, this guy, who has been a woman for less than a year, was one of the speakers for the Forbes Women’s Summit, explaining how to be a successful woman in the business sphere. He got a lot of attention, though not the kind of attention that one would think is good. But Ulta Beauty thought it was good.

Ulta Beauty, a retailer for makeup and other beauty products, decided to do an interview with Mulvaney with another trans guy named David Lopez. The two were talking about beauty and how great it is to be girls. Here’s a little clip of the hour long video.

Some things:

  • He is never going to be a mother. It is physically impossible.
  • Those things will never accessible to him

Needless to say, there was a huge backlash from women. Here is just one clip that sums up what women are saying on social media about this:

She’s absolutely correct here.

Ulta responded to the backlash with a tweet:

Why do they deserve our respect? These two men are clowns, make up and all, and are making a mockery of women. I do not see any of this as deserving of my respect.

Remember a while back, Gillette, the men’s razor company, came out with a campaign telling men to not be so toxic? Remember what happened to them? They got a lot of praise for this by the Left, which is what they were looking for. What they also got was declining sales because, it turns out, insulting your customer base has repercussions.

Here’s the thing, the backlash is here. People aren’t tolerating this crap anymore.

Really?

This is just f-ing incredible.

According to the Daily Wire:

Last Friday, Boston University’s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories released data claiming that it had combined the original strain of COVID with the omicron variant, resulting in a new strain of COVID that killed 80% of mice in the trial.

The new strain, while less deadly to mice than the original, is more deadly than the omicron variant, according to BU research. The lab denies that it was conducting controversial gain of function experiments.

The alpha virus wasn’t transmissible enough so they added an omicron spike protein to it to make the COVID virus more transmissible. And this is all funded by the government, which, we were told, they were not doing.

The question is why? What is the reason to do this? There needs to be an investigation into this because, if that virus gets out, it could turn this country upside down again. Also, we were told they were not doing this.

Joe Biden is at It Again

Joe Biden had a press conference yesterday describing his new plans to lower gas prices. Let’s listen to some of it.

Problem here is gas prices went up over a dollar. These price decreases were inevitable with him dumping oil from the strategic reserve. I also notice he’s taking credit for the pennies prices have gone down since August. I wonder if he’s going to take responsibility for them going up in the first place and every month since he took office.

Some things:

  • Putin’s price hike. The first person to blame.
  • I am so tired of him making himself out as an ordinary guy. This jerk has been in politics since he was 29.

Some things:

  • Why through December? Maybe because the elections are in November.
  • The strategic oil reserves are not for lowering gas prices.
  • Biden has decreased the reserves to 50% capacity.
  • Maybe he should lift regulations and approve drilling.

Some things:

  • Every oil and gas company in the world disagrees with Biden. Him not preventing oil companies from drilling is just a lie.
  • Oil is selling at $87.50 a barrel. The reason it is so high is because of regulations and the lack of permits. When, exactly, does he think it is ever going to get down to $70 a barrel?

Some things:

  • First, it’s Putin’s fault, now it is the oil company’s fault.
  • Those profits are going up because oil is going up. Oil is going up because drilling is not happening. Drilling is not happening because of Joe Biden’s policies and regulations.
  • The oil industry has explained this.
  • This is the big question I have whenever these idiots talk about the greed of the oil industry. Where was this greed when Trump was in office when gas was half of what it was?

Some things:

  • Oil going down does not mean gas prices instantly go down. Oil needs to be refined before it is sent to gas stations. The Biden administration is preventing the upgrading and building of refineries.
  • It typically takes weeks before gas drops. This is just basic business.

Some things:

  • Oil companies shouldn’t do this while a “war is raging”? Here’s my question, why are we even involved in this war?
  • We don’t get our oil from Russia or Ukraine.

Some things:

  • That a great idea.
  • Lets speed up the production of less efficient, more expensive energy sources.
  • By the way, most of that stuff is made in China.

Some things:

  • Let’s see. He’s blamed:
    • Putin.
    • Oil companies.
    • The refiners.
    • Gas retailers.
    • And now Trump.
  • He takes all the credit and takes none of the blame.

No one’s buying any of this crap. Even the media sees this as an overt political stunt right before an election.

The question is where has he been for the last two years? Democrats own the House, the Senate and the Presidency. Republicans can’t do anything, they have had no power for the last two years. It’s his policies that caused this mess in the economy.

Episode 239 – IT’S HALLOWEEN!!

The Daily Wire released a list of the most influential horror movies of all time. I think this is a great list. I love horror movies. They can be scary, violent, funny, it doesn’t matter. I especially love horror movies during Halloween. Josie and I will be watching them all week.

So, I decided to go through this list. I agree with most of these but I think it is missing some movies which I’ll talk about when I get through the list. I will then talk about a few of my favorite horror movies.

Here we go.

Psycho

From the Daily Wire:

Alfred Hitchcock defied conventional wisdom with 1960’s “Psycho” in more ways than one. Respected auteurs weren’t prone to the horror genre, and that’s being generous. Plus, the unwritten production codes of the era prohibited filmmakers from dabbling in blood, gore and other horror movie essentials.

Hitchcock clung to the era’s limitations and still left us clutching our arm rests.

The iconic shower scene alone stunned audiences, and for all the right reasons. A signature score that’s synonymous with horror. Implied violence, but nothing grotesque. Black and white blood circling the drain, more chilling that gallons of red liquid oozing from any “Friday the 13th” victim. And a comely heroine checking out long before the end credits. That decision alone makes “Psycho” a one-of-a-kind thriller.

Psycho is a one-of-a-kind movie. The music, the lighting, the shot angles even the cameo by Alfred Hitchcock himself were all revolutionary in movies. The biggest accomplishment of this movie was the shock value at the end of the movie. This has been attempted to be duplicated by hundreds of other movies. But none of those movies have ever come close.

Movies like it would be Identity, Rosemary’s Baby and Split.

Night of the Living Dead

The Daily Wire states:

George A. Romero kickstarted his career on Pittsburgh’s iconic kiddie show “Mister Rogers Neighborhood.” Yes, really. Years later, Romero created the template for the modern zombie movie. Talk about range.

His 1968 feature film debut, originally dubbed “Night of the Flesh Eaters,” cemented his status as a go-to shock auteur. Only “Dead” didn’t immediately launch our current zombie craze. It took time, two “Dead” sequels from Romero himself and a culture obsessed with dystopian stories to make that happen. Romero simply lit the flame on that slow-burning fuse. Directors, and a certain AMC series, have been tracing his template ever since.

This is the movie that introduced us to all the zombie movies and one pretty good television show. Now, something I want to point out with zombie movies, it is not about the zombies. Night of the Living Dead was actually about the relationships between the characters and how they interact while with the fear of being eaten. They’re all like that. When one gets eaten, one feels bad for that character unlike other violent slasher or exploitation films. The thing is, some people are turned off by zombie films because there is only so much psychological analysis that can be done. That’s why I am not a big fan of The Walking Dead. Because it’s the same thing over and over again.

Some writers have made zombie rather humorous. Movies like the 90’s version of Dawn of the Dead, Return of the Night of the Living Dead, Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland have made watching zombie movies tolerable.

Halloween

The Daily Wire says:

It’s the movie that mainstreamed the “slasher” sub-genre, for better and certainly worse.

Director John Carpenter, who also created the film’s unforgettable score, told the tale of a young man who does his dirty work on All Hallows Eve.

Everything clicked for Carpenter, from a game “final girl” (Jamie Lee Curtis) to choreographed scares that endure after multiple viewings. It’s a master class in suspense, tension and pacing.

That signature mask – crafted from William Shatner’s inimitable mug – did the rest.

“Halloween” made Carpenter a Hollywood legend, even if his subsequent films ranged from inspired (“The Thing”) to insipid (“Ghosts of Mars”).

Halloween  is the first of the serial killer/slasher movies. These movies do not have a plot, no one can act, no character development, no dialog and no one likes the characters. Oh, yeah, the victims make bad decisions, the murders are completely unrealistic and the only character that has any sympathy from the audience is the virgin female. Oh, I forgot. And all the teenage chicks are naked.

I have never been a huge fan of slasher flicks. Just way too out there. I love the first two movies of Halloween. I loved the Rob Zombie’s version of Halloween. I liked Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. Never liked Friday the 13th.

Alien

According to the Dailywire:

In space, no one can hear you scream. It’s the perfect tag line for a perfect sci-fi/horror mashup.

Director Ridley Scott’s masterpiece launched a massive movie franchise and one of the best film sequels of all time (1986’s “Aliens”). The original film remains a pristine shocker, deftly blending character beats, claustrophobic sets and a heroine as good as any in the modern era – Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley.

The film also left us with arguably the greatest movie monster of all time. And, year after year, horror films copy that xenomorph critter with poor to middling results. Films as recent as this year’s “Sputnik” attempted to upgrade the “Alien” model.

This was the first real sci-fi horror. I personally liked Aliens better. Other movies would be The Thing, which I think is a better movie and Life.

The Silence of the Lambs

The Dailywire says:

Why does Jonathan Demme’s film matter? Let’s start with Oscar. The film swept the major Academy Award categories for the year, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Jodie Foster) and Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins, although his modest screen time suggests a Best Supporting Actor was more appropriate).

I’d agree with that. But the movies roots were from Hitchcock’s Psycho. Even the bad guy is based on the same killer, Ed Gein. So, not a fan of this pick though I understand why they picked it.

The Blair Witch Project

The Dailywire states:

Hate found footage movies? Abhor films that create faux online campaigns meant to boost their credibility? Blame this absurdly profitable shocker, one of the biggest Hollywood curveballs ever thrown, for both brief trends.

Three young, clueless filmmakers head to the woods to learn the truth behind an urban legend, and they get a crash course in the old saw, “be careful what you wish for…”

The low budget film used the main characters’ cameras to chart the action, meaning the filmmakers leaned on cheap, grainy footage without a hint of FX treats to keep us off guard.

The film’s production budget? An absurdly low $60,000. Its global box office tally? $248 million. For that we got a giddy sense of the unknown, and the growing horror felt by the filmmakers.

Great movie. There has been a movie like it since except for Paranormal Activity. I like these films. I watch them all the time, even if the critics suck. It makes one think they are actually there.

I do have a question. It’s a rhetorical question so answer in your own head. If you are in the woods, alone, with a chick, who’s crying and vulnerable, and you’re going to die because there a vindictive witch: would you have fucked the chick?

Just asking. Because I would have.

28 Days Later

Romero is the godfather of the zombie film, but Danny Boyle deserves credit for fanning the undead flames. The director’s thriller took zombies seriously, and introduced a new wrinkle to the genre. These zombie could run.

The British film gave the sleeping zombie movement a wake-up call, paving the way for everything from a solid “Dawn of the Dead” remake (2004) to Max Brooks’ influential book “World War Z” (2006) and one of the horror comedy’s best mashups – 2004’s “Shaun of the Dead.”

I hate this pick. It’s just another zombie film.

Saw

The Dailywire says:

Director James Wan’s feature film debut sparked one of the genre’s shortest trends to date, and thank goodness for that. Enter the Torture Porn era.

The genre leaned heavily on practical FX and our lust for blood, gore and more. While some horror films practiced restraint with the killings, these films zoomed in on that mayhem. You couldn’t look away.

The 2004 film “Saw” hit it big at the box office, sparking a never-ending franchise which returns in a new form next year with Chris Rock’s “Spiral.”

This is the start of the exploitation film/torture porn era. Now, mind you, there were a ton of movies before this but they never had an impact. Movies like Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes and I Spit on Your Grave were around 30 years earlier. But the Saw movies made exploitation films fashionable.

What is the difference between torture porn and a slasher film. The violence. That’s it. Rape is not off the table. Killing of children is not off the table. Unlike slasher movies, the violence is extreme and realistic. A lot of these movies are actually banned. They are really hard to watch. Best torture porn movie since Saw is Hostel.

Get Out

What is a sketch comic like Jordan Peele doing in the horror genre? Reminding us that socially conscious horror movies can still make us scream. Peele’s film boasts a left-of-center thesis – woke liberals are capably of horribly racist acts. The film doesn’t coast on its progressive laurels, though. “Get Out” grabs us from the opening scene, and smartly deployed reveals keep our attention to the very end.

The film makes progressive horror hip again, and we’ll see how far the trend stretches. The recent “Antebellum” shows the “Get Out” formula isn’t easy to follow, and that’s being kind.

I thought this was a great movie. It was fun. Should it be on this list? No. If you watch this movie, it’s just another zombie movie with a message. How the black people became zombies is the message. Who cares. I think this was not an influential movie and I have in my library.

Movies the Dailywire Missed

The Exorcist

How in the Hell does one miss The Exorcist? This was the first movie that analyzed evil from the devil himself?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

This is the real first slasher film. And it made a ton in the box office. Screw Halloween.

Final Destination

You know what makes a good horror film? A ton of sequels that still make money. This movie is about a battle with mortality and how we can escape it. The killing are violent and really original. And one watching is kept completely off balance because something that looks threatening is death’s feint.

I remember one line in the first movie where the main character put everything threatening in a closet. A bunch of weird shit happened, the closet ended up opening and a rusty fishing hook almost cut him. The character smiled and said, “Tetanus. I get it.”

Hellraiser

Again, must have been a great idea because they made like nine sequels and all of them made money.

No other form of entertainment has actually taken on to Hell to deal with bad things. Probably since Dante. Let’s face it: what’s more awesome then being chased by demons, through Hell. I can’t think of anything. And if you’re caught, things go down hill. Badly.

Now, mind you, I liked the first and second Hellraiser movies. Didn’t care for any of the others.

Pulse/ Unfriend Me

I’m a parent. The Internet is evil. Smart phones are evil. Facebook is evil. Why not make come up with a way to make a horror movie that points that out?

Pulse sucked. But it showed the evils of smart phones. Yeah, these guys could have thrown their phones, gotten rid of their batteries, left where they were. They didn’t. So, screw them.

Unfriend Me shows the evils of social media and how a victim of it can start to haunt it. It’s a dumb, but fun, movie with a real message.

Scream

This is actually a slasher film. But this movie did something different. It was comedic and made fun of slasher movies. The violence was way over the top and the deaths seemed implausible but that what was funny about it. But that what was great about it. It made fun of the implausibility of slasher movies.

Another great movie like this is Cabin in the Woods.

Evil Dead

Just an absolute classic. A mix of horror and comedy with over-the-top violence. This movie mixed all of the horror genres. It’s like The Exorcist, Night of the Living Dead and Hellraiser with a sprinkle of Blair Witch Project mixed all into one. I’m not talking about the new version. I’m talking about the 80’s version. The remake sucked.

Jaws

Movies I Loved

Seven

A horror, mystery, suspense movie with a messed up twist at the end. All gore, little violence. It starred Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey (before we knew he was harassing under-age boys). Brad Pitt’s best performance.

Trick R’ Treat

This is a short story based movie much like Creepshow (which is also a great comedy horror). The violence is heavy but it is so over-the-top that it is funny. And there are some twists.

It Follows

A conservative film that is extremely creepy. The point: don’t have sex with someone you don’t love.

The Re-Animator

A horror comedy that has violence that is so over-the-top that I watched it with my five year old (that’s a lie). Just a really fun movie.

Horror

IT

Clowns suck. It does not matter how you ingest the story: via Stephen King’s book, the 1980’s version or the newest version. It is creepy and disturbing. The new version, which is closer to Stephen King’s book, actually made my fiancé pee her pants. Great movie

Conclusion

Horror movies are so much fun. They make me laugh, they get the dopemine running and/or I just have fun. And it’s Halloween! It’s time to let go and let the imagination go.

Episode 146 Show Notes – It is a Chinese Virus

The news is saturated with the Wuhan Virus. I am not going to bite on it anymore. I’ve been stuck in my place for a week. I’ve heard all the statistics and news. Let’s just talk about it from a real life perspective. And, since we’re all stuck inside, waiting for everyone to die a terrible plague-like death, lets talk about what is happening in the human terms. Not like what we hear on the news. Because what we are hearing on the news and from the government is stupid.

Then, lets talk about what we should be hearing. What we need as a society. What we need to hear from our government. What we regular people may need to do.to get through this.

No More News

Well, it seems that life has stopped. There isn’t any news except for this damn virus. I decided it was time to change some of the content of this podcast because there is nothing really in the news. No debates or news outside of this pandemic. Even the Presidential campaign has been put on hold. But is that a surprise? All the candidates are well in the age range for mortality for this virus. Not to mention I’m sure the campaigns don’t want their candidates saying anything because they are so dumb.

I love the politicizing of this virus though. My girlfriend came over one day and called Trump ma racist because he called the virus the Chinese flu. I asked if she was kidding. I then pointed out the different viruses that were named after where the started. That included:

  • Spanish flu
  • Asian Flu
  • Russian flu
  • Hong Kong flu
  • MERS (Middle East)
  • Lyme disease
  • Ebola

All of these are named after the place they started. COVID-19 started in Wuhan, China. It’s actually known as the Wuhan virus but got its name because the Chinese government is responsible for causing this pandemic and President Trump doesn’t want you to forget it. I’ll talk about that more a little later.

Here’s the thing, and it’s so simple I won’t waste a lot of time on it: this virus started in Wuhan, China. The Chinese government hid the virus as not to embarrass themselves, which is true of any communist dictatorship. If they had alerted the world of the virus and prevented their people from just doing their thing, including traveling to other countries, this thing would be done already. The virus did start in Wuhan but it is the Chinese government nthat aided in the spread of the disease. Seriously, folks, they killed the doctor who discovered and tried to alert the people about it.

So, it is the Chinese virus.

The second thing I keep hearing is how Trump messed this whole thing up. And, in the beginning, he did. He didn’t take this seriously, didn’t think of the impact and brushed it off.But he’s recovered. He has the best doctors in the country advising him, he place Vice President Pence in charge, distancing himself to allow others to control yet showing the government is involved and taking it seriously.

This is an unprecedented event. Nothing like this has happened since the Spanish Flu in 1918. No one today knows how to deal with this. Denmark decided to perform something called Herd Immunization. What that means is people would go out and do their thing while those who are susceptible to the virus would hide out. The virus would spread, people who can weather it would get sick, develop an immunity and they would live happily ever after.

Nope. Didn’t work out that way. Denmark is now doing what we’re doing. Best laid plans of mice and men, I guess.

The reality is, no one really knows how to deal with this.

What Can The Government and Trump Do

Why is the stock market flipping out? Why are there no rolls of toilet paper anywhere? Why are there lines of people wrapped around the Costco parking lot? Why can’t I find a loaf of bread for my tuna fish salad sandwich?

Because we are all in a panic.

There have been over one billion references to the Wuhan virus in the news media. That is 10 times more than there was for SARS, MERS, Ebola or H1N1. And those were more serious viruses (that we know of).

The fact is, we don’t know much about this virus. So the government must walk the fine line between we’re all going to die and everything is going to be fine. That’s easier said than done.

The media went far to one direction and told us we are all going to die. Statistics show that is not the case. The virus is more dangerous than the flu and it is showing that young people are susceptible. Italy has shown that.

Trump went the other direction. He minimized the virus. He told us we were all going to be fine, this is no big deal, nothing to see here. That wasn’t true either. This virus does suck. It is more dangerous and contagious than we thought. People will die. And the administration decided this was a serious thing and adjusted. Now, they are doing well.

What do I think? It’s probably kind of in the middle. This is a dangerous virus and I should stay away from my parents and others who are susceptible. But I am not sure it is as bad as the media plays it out. I think the government should overreact because this thing is scaring people and the government needs to take their fear seriously. And we don’t know anything about this virus. So we should think the worst of it and deal with it. If it ends up not being as bad as we thought, no big deal.

We also need to realize what we are doing. We are, justifiably, shutting down the economy. Stores and businesses are shutting down, people are losing the jobs and can’t pay their bills. We’re all stuck at home. This could kill our economy. Everything the government is doing, from ordering businesses to close to giving us a couple of grand a month, is meant to suspend the economy so that it doesn’t crash completely.

Here’s the problem: I don’t trust the government. You’ve heard me say this before. The government sucks at everuything. And I am afraid they are going to do things that help make the government bigger. This week, the Senate refused to pass a $1 trillion package, supported by the President, because some of the provisions would be made permenant. That’s scary. Business cannot support paid sick leave all the time and Universal Basic Income (which is what the Democrats want) is unsustainable. We can’t afford it. And this is not a time to allow a single payer health care system sneak into our lives. This is not the time to implement the Green New Deal, which a lot of Democrats are pushing with this $1 trillion deal.

The only thing the government is suppose to do is suspend the economy for a month, maybe two. Not make the government bigger.

Finally, The last thing the government can do is give us a timeline. I have been stuck in my house for a week and I am going nuts. My girlfriend is going nuts. Her kids are going nuts. My parents are going nuts. My friends are going nuts. We are all going nuts. And if the government thinks we are all going to sit in our homes for two months, they’re stupid.

The American people are too used to freedom. They are not going to last long imprisoned in their homes. We need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel. And we need to be given an idea when we might see that light. I know that the government may not know. That’s fine but tell us what they are thinking. Not just the doom and gloom. Because people are not going to do this forever. Hell, they’re not going to do this for three weeks.

China did not have a problem controlling their population. Anyone did what they did not say, they were killed or imprisoned. This is not that country.

Please, President Trump, come up with a plan and let us know what is going on. We know this is not going to last forever. Tell us how long we are going to have to go through even if it means the bad news of a second wave of an infection.

We are Americans. We can handle it.

Week On in Captivity

I have been stuck in my place for six days. and this sucks.

Good news is, after five days of not knowing what to do with myself, I developed a routine. That really helped today. I do work from home and this was the first time I was actually productive from home. I am not going to talk about my routine yet. We’ll save that for tomorrow’s podcast.

But I am watching a lot of Netflix and Amazon Prime. Not much news because the news is the same. So here’s some things you might enjoy too:

  • Read Loserthink by Scott Adams.
  • Watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
  • Watch 1917.
  • Watched The Platform on Netflix. Reminds me of The Cube.
  • Binge-watched BloodRide on Netflix.
  • Am binge-watching Frasier from Amazon Prime

This week, I’m going to start a new book called You Can’t Lie to Me by Janine Driver. I read this book before but I never annotated it. It is an awesome book so I want to spend sometime with it.

Movie Review: John Wick 3: Parabellum

I have been looking forward to this movie since it was released from theaters. I actually bought tickets for my girlfriend (well, former girlfriend) and I. But we never went. She always found a reason not to go even though I knew she liked action films, loved the first two films and she knew this one was probably going to be awesome based on the reviews.

Well, we never saw it. And that has been a sore point of our relationship (no, I’m serious). I finally got to see it. It was awesome! Here’s the preview:

What a great movie. Yes, the action was over the top. John Wick should have died six times and broken his legs at least twice. No handgun holds 28 rounds. But it was stylish and awesome. It was like combining the Matirx and The Bourne Identity.

This is a very violent movie. Over the top violence. But if you like action movies, you’ll love this one.
