Episode 1191 – The Left Hates Christians!

The Biden Justice department has not been playing well with others.

An anti-abortion father profits from the misdeeds of the Biden administration.

And New York isn’t learning a bloody thing about the Biden administration’s mistakes.

Who’s Weaponizing the Justice Department?

The article argues that the Biden Justice Department closely coordinated with major abortion-rights organizations to monitor, build cases against, and secure harsher penalties for peaceful pro-life activists using the FACE Act, while downplaying attacks on pro-life centers and religious opponents of abortion.

Core claims

  • The piece says internal DOJ emails, released in a Trump-era report, show senior Biden DOJ official Sanjay Patel treating an activist at the National Abortion Federation (NAF) as an “MVP” for flagging pro-life protests in real time and connecting her directly with FBI agents to spur FACE Act investigations and prosecutions.
  • According to the article, pro-abortion groups such as NAF, Planned Parenthood, and the Feminist Majority Foundation compiled and sent “dossiers” on pro-life activists to DOJ, including home addresses, photos of family members, travel plans, social media posts, associates, and even driver’s license numbers, years before some were charged.

Monitoring and prosecutions

  • The report described in the article claims Patel and the DOJ “monitored” certain pro-life families, like Calvin Zastrow’s, for years by tracking their social media and travel and by asking NAF for updates on where they might protest next, before later indicting them under the FACE Act for sit-ins and blockades at clinics in states like Tennessee and Michigan.
  • The article emphasizes that many of those prosecuted under Biden were engaged in activities it characterizes as peaceful—praying, singing, and sitting in front of clinic doors—yet some received multi‑year prison sentences, which the Trump DOJ now contrasts with lighter average sentences for pro‑abortion defendants in FACE‑related cases.

Alleged bias and disdain for religion

  • The Daily Wire piece highlights language from DOJ attorneys as evidence of hostility toward religious pro‑lifers, including descriptions of Christian pro‑life beliefs as “culty” and an email complaining about drawing a “very Catholic magistrate” who was careful about defendants’ First Amendment rights.
  • It further notes that, per the Trump report, Biden‑era task force lawyers were in “constant contact” with abortion clinics and advocacy groups yet had no contact with pro‑life pregnancy centers until months after a surge in vandalism and attacks against those centers following the Dobbs leak.

Relationship with abortion groups

  • The article says DOJ officials not only relied on abortion-rights groups for intelligence but also tried to help at least one such group, NAF, obtain private grant funding, with a DOJ lawyer asking ethics officers if they could vouch on DOJ letterhead that NAF was “valuable to our law enforcement efforts.”
  • The Trump report, as summarized, criticizes this as a conflict of interest: DOJ lawyers allegedly took an interest in the financial success of entities that were simultaneously shaping the department’s enforcement targets.

Trump administration response

  • The article frames the new 800‑page Trump DOJ report as part of a broader effort to “correct” Biden-era weaponization of the FACE Act, pointing to Trump’s early pardons of convicted pro-life activists and a recent seven‑figure settlement with pro‑life leader Mark Houck after his FACE Act prosecution and FBI raid.
  • It concludes that, taken together, the emails and report show a DOJ that partnered with abortion activists to pursue religious, pro‑life Americans while giving comparatively less attention to crimes against pregnancy centers and churches.

Justice Has Been Done!

According to Fox News:

A pro-life activist whose 2022 arrest by the FBI under the Biden administration drew national headlines has reached a seven-figure settlement after suing the Justice Department over his arrest and prosecution.

Mark Houck filed a lawsuit against the department in 2023 seeking restitution for what he called “a faulty investigation” and “excessive force” after a SWAT team of around 25 people arrested him in front of his children at his home on Sept. 23, 2022, allegedly with guns drawn.

The shocking details of his arrest spurred criticism from conservatives that the Justice Department under then-President Joe Biden was targeting pro-life activists.

After a three-year legal battle, 40 Days for Life President Shawn Carney announced April 9 that Houck had reached a settlement with the Department of Justice under President Donald Trump and had been awarded more than $1 million.

An Attack on Catholics! I’m Shocked!

According to Fox News:

Catholic nuns who have spent more than a century caring for the dying poor are suing New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, saying a new state law could force them to choose between their faith and their mission or face fines, loss of licensing and even jail time.

“We are consecrated religious Sisters and have one mission,” Mother Marie Edward, O.P., told Fox News Digital in a statement. “It is to provide comfort and skilled care to persons dying of cancer who cannot afford nursing care. We do not take insurance or government funds or money from our patients or families. The care is totally free.”

“We are supported by the goodness of our benefactors,” she continued. “We do this without discriminating on the basis of race, religion, or sex. We do it because Jesus taught us that, when the least among us are sick, we should care for them, as if they were Christ himself.”

Signed into law on Nov. 30, 2023, the “Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, and people living with HIV long-term care facility residents’ bill of rights” bans long-term care facilities and staff “from discriminating against any resident on the basis of a resident’s actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or HIV status,” according to a press release from Hochul’s office.

The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, who run Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, New York, filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the law they say would require them to assign rooms by gender identity, not biological sex; allow access to opposite-sex bathrooms; allow expression, relationships and identity practices; use preferred pronouns; require staff training in gender ideology; and post a public notice stating compliance with the law.

Edward told Fox News Digital that “New York’s gender ideology mandates not only violate our Catholic values, they threaten our existence with fines, injunctions, license revocation, and even jail time. This is why we were forced to go to court to seek protection of our religious exercise and freedom of speech so that we can continue our ministry to the poor.”

The letters listed New York’s demands and included a training curriculum “requiring the sisters to align patient care and the training of their sisters and employees with the State’s gender ideology.”

If the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne do not comply, they face fines up to $2,000 per violation — rising to $5,000 — court-ordered forced compliance, loss of licensing and up to one year in prison and fines up to $10,000.

In their lawsuit, the sisters highlighted that during the four-year reporting period from Feb. 1, 2022, through Jan. 31, 2026, the New York State Department of Health had received “zero complaints” from Rosary Hill Home residents, compared with “more than 55,000 complaints against other nursing homes,” and an average of 23 citations per facility during the same period.

Episode 1190 – Digging Deep to Find Racism!

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Talks with Iran may begin again this week.

The Donald Trump and Pope Leo are having a tiff. I have some thoughts.

And have you mowed your lawn this week? If you did, you are a racist!

News

Here is some news:

  • Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran could restart as soon as Thursday this week after President Donald Trump imposed a blockade on Iranian ports.
  • A fragile truce between Tehran and Washington remains in place as leaders attempt to negotiate a wider deal.
  • I do have some comments about the Pope Leo/Donald Trump kurfuffle.
  • President Joe Biden’s administration relied on information gathered from radical pro-abortion groups to track, prosecute, and snoop on peaceful pro-life protesters, shocking emails released Tuesday by the Trump administration show.

Do Any of These Guys Take Any Personal Responsibility?

According to the Daily Wire:

Maine Democrat Graham Platner, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Maine, faced backlash for his Nazi-symbol tattoo and several nasty social media posts — and during a recent interview, he attributed both on the “culture” that he was exposed to while serving in the United States military.

Platner, who served both in the Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, got the tattoo covered up after the initial public outcry, appeared on “The Takeout with Major Garrett” — and he argued that the “hyper-masculine” culture in the infantry had “colored” his perspective in the past.

So military culture, hyper-masculinity (toxic masculinity), and hyper-violence caused him to be a racist and get a Nazi tattoo. Hmm, OK.

Also, he admits that he’s a racist. And he decided not to be a racist and get rid of that tattoo after he decided to run for the Senate.

Makes absolute sense to me. Let’s vote for him.

By the way, he wouldn’t be the first Democrat that was a racist.

Dumbass of the Day

According to the Post Millennial:

A woke TikTok user is facing widespread backlash online after posting a video arguing that maintaining a well-kept lawn is tied to racism.

The user, @softchaoschannel, shared a video on Monday on TikTok, saying, “I can’t stop thinking about how grass lawns are racist and like, based in white supremacy.”

Um, so keeping a nice lawn is white supremacy? Does that mean blacks and other people of color don’t like nice lawn (I know that’s not true)?

Why is a well-kept lawn racist? Is it because blacks are incapable to keep lawn well manicured?

Probably. The Left already tells us blacks can’t be on time, can’t work hard, can’t get IDs, can’t get into colleges and so forth.

This is the bigotry of low expectations. This is racism. This is the true white supremacy. All infront of her nice house and, probably, well-manacured lawn.

It’s More Than The Food

Here is an opinion piece by Robert Kennedy Jr. and Leslie Brooke Rollins from the Department of Health and Human Services. See if you notice if something is missing.

According to Fox News:

As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of freedom this summer, America should resolve to once again be a healthy nation. Chronic disease has been rapidly increasing for decades, and for far too long, the federal government’s approach to nutrition has been part of the problem. Empowered by President Donald Trump’s leadership, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will soon publish a final rule that will more than double the amount of healthy food that many retailers in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are required to stock.

Since its inception, SNAP has helped our most vulnerable citizens afford the essential and nutritious food they need. At least, that is what the program is supposed to do. Over time, however, SNAP has been taken advantage of, allowing many to game the system and leaving millions of vulnerable Americans without healthy, nutrient-dense food options.

Requiring to stock certain foods does not change the behavior of those taking advantage of SNAP. Banning highly processed foods is the problem.

This is the first clue about what is missing.

This has accelerated the health crisis that our nation is up against. Every year, 90% of the nearly $5 trillion the United States spends on healthcare goes toward treating people with chronic conditions. And of the roughly 73 million children under age 18 in the United States, the CDC reports that over 40% have at least one chronic health condition, while more than 350,000 American children have been diagnosed with diabetes.

The consequences are far-reaching and have even put our national security at risk. Due primarily to obesity, poor physical fitness, and/or mental health challenges, more than 75% of Americans aged 17 to 24 are ineligible for military service — a staggering and dangerous reality.

The article fails to point out that 75% of those on SNAP (child or adult) have obesity problems.

Rising rates of childhood chronic disease are driven by a combination of factors. Improving SNAP — which covers 15.6 million children, or about 39% of all SNAP participants — is a terrific place to start. When it comes to a lack of healthy options for both America’s children and adults, the stocking standards that classify the foods retailers are required to stock to redeem SNAP benefits are a key culprit.

The current stocking standards were established when SNAP was used quite differently. Today, too many taxpayer dollars are spent on highly processed products loaded with empty calories. With nearly 266,000 retailers nationwide redeeming nearly $96 billion in SNAP benefits in fiscal year 2025, we can’t afford not to act.

To take just one example of SNAP misuse, retailers have been able to qualify for SNAP by selling jelly, passing it off as a “fruit,” and making a quick buck off it. This was never the intent of SNAP, and the Trump administration is laser-focused on restoring the program to its original mission.

Our pending final rule raises the bar for stocking by strengthening requirements for retailers and closing loopholes that have allowed certain snack foods to count as staple foods. This rule requires all retailers to carry a minimum of 28 varieties across the four staple food groups — more than double the 12 they are currently required to carry. This will mean more real food like eggs, chicken, whole grain breads, fruit and yogurt on store shelves and on Americans’ plates.

Or, you can make real food like eggs, chicken, whole grains breads, fruit, and yogurt the only foods they can purchase!

Americans on SNAP deserve even more than 28 varieties, but this is a long overdue step in the right direction. It is also the very least retailers can do in exchange for receiving federal taxpayer dollars, since public money should go toward supporting the national interest. And retailers participating in SNAP should feel obligated to offer a variety of healthy foods, period.

At long last, we are modernizing SNAP to responsibly steward taxpayer dollars, promote healthy eating and empower Americans to lead better lives. This pending final rule squares with the latest Dietary Guidelines for Americans’ call to eat real food by ensuring low-income Americans have healthy options available wherever they shop.

There is no better 250th birthday present we can give America than making our nation healthier through real food grown by our incredible farmers, ranchers and producers. Stay tuned — there is much more to come before July 4th.

Some things:

  • SNAP is a program that needs to go away as it is.
    • It is abused.
    • It is has become a lifestyle instead of being temporary help for people in trouble.
    • It costs way to much.
  • Behavior is the problem, not the lack of regulations.
    • Parents are the ones who need to be careful what their children eat, not the government.

Toughen Up, Buttercup!

According to the New York Post:

Newcomers to the workforce are already in need of respites from the rat race. So, they’re ditching the daily grind to enjoy a little midweek mindfulness in nature amid the rising “green days” movement.

“I’m really enjoying my day off from work,” raved a 28-year-old law office assistant, in part, while frolicking barefoot through grass in a trending vid. “I’m putting my health first and taking it easy.”

It’s the easy way out of doing a hard day’s work.

As if Gen Zers, young adults under age 29,  don’t already have a bad rap for being “lazy and entitled” loafs totally unprepared for the corporate world, the youngsters are now abandoning their posts for green days — time away from the office for time spent in the forest or at the beach — during normal business hours.

And while the spontaneous outing might come as a nuisance to the 65% of employers who’ve deemed Zoomers the “hardest generation to work with,” owing to their poor communication skills, lack of focus and emotional fragility — not to mention their near-crippling dependence on mommy and daddy — randomly going “green” for a day does have its benefits, per reports.

A staggering 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas — a proportion that is expected to increase to 68% by 2050, according to The World Health Organization (WHO), which notes that a lack of fresh and activity makes folks vulnerable to noncommunicable disease.

Rather than staying cooped up in a cubby, experts suggest squeezing in a little “green time” from time-to-time.

“Spending time in nature can help relieve stress and anxiety, improve your mood and boost feelings of happiness and well-being,” says the American Heart Association. “Whatever you call it – forest bathing, ecotherapy, mindfulness in nature, green time or the wilderness cure ‒ humans evolved in the great outdoors, and your brain may benefit from a journey back to nature.”

Researchers from the UK even found that a minimum of 20 to 90 minutes outdoors each day is “effective for improving mental health outcomes.”

The brain boost, however, does not require a full 9-to-5 shift.

Still, the Gen Zs who’d rather play in the green than make some green seem happy with their self-serving choices.

“Midweek day off in the sun though,” gushed a on-the-go gal taking full advantage of her PTO.

“What my mornings look like on my day off,” another captioned footage of herself hiking near a waterfall, far away from big business.

“Days off recharging around nature,” wrote a carefree couple beneath a clip of themselves tabling their responsibilities to kiss in a forest.

Must be nice to lead the green Gen Z life.

It Was a Joke Dude!

According to Fox News:

Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi faces a lawsuit for $27 million after making a joke about the lyrics to the opening song of the Disney film “The Lion King.”

While appearing on the One54 Africa podcast last month, Jonasi jokingly claimed that “Nants’ingonyama bagithi Baba,” the opening African chant to the song “Circle of Life,” translates to “Look! There’s a lion! Oh my god!”

South African composer Lebohang Morake, otherwise known as Lebo M, the vocalist behind the opening chant, accused the comedian in a legal document on March 16 of making “false statements of fact about the meaning of the ‘Nants’ingonyama’ composition” which he insists translates to “All hail the king, we all bow in the presence of the king.”

He claimed Jonasi was diminishing the song’s value, which could have a negative impact on Morake’s reputation and estate, and is seeking more than $27 million in damages.

Episode 1172 – Rest in Peace, Lou!

Boots may be on the ground in Iran, but not American boots.

A horrible story comes out of Miami and there are some big questions we should ask.

And football loses one of its greatest coaches.

News

Here is some news:

  • Legendary Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz has died at the age of 89, the university announced on Wednesday.
    • Holtz was considered one of the most influential coaches in college football history, winning 249 games as a collegiate head coach. He began his coaching career at William & Mary in 1969 and spent one season in the NFL before returning to college football.
    • One hundred of those wins happened at Notre Dame, where he served as head coach from 1986 until 1996.
    • Holtz was also a close friend and longtime supporter of Donald Trump. The president honored Holtz with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in December of 2020 for his contributions to the nation.
  • The Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Wednesday that federal appeals courts must defer to immigration judges when reviewing asylum decisions.
    • The court’s ruling, written by Biden-appointed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, stated that immigration laws require federal courts to use a “substantial-evidence standard” when reviewing immigration judges’ decisions regarding whether an asylum seeker would face “persecution” if deported from the country.
    • Jackson noted that courts must meet a high bar before overturning an immigration judge’s findings. “the agency’s determination whether a given set of undisputed facts rises to the level of persecution under §1101(a)(42)(A) is generally ‘conclusive unless any reasonable adjudicator would be compelled to conclude to the contrary.’”
  • The Senate voted against a resolution that would have required President Donald Trump to seek congressional approval before taking further military action in Iran.
  • Boot are on the ground in Iran. The Kurds, a group located in the western portion of Iran and have been contained by the IGRC have joined the fight.
  • Britain and France may have to join the fight in Iran because of an attack of a British base in Cyprus and attacking French bases.

The Padres Have Enough Problems

According to the New York Post:

Once California tax laws entered the equation, two was greater than three for Merrill Kelly.

The math was done by the veteran pitcher at some point this offseason, when he was a free agent deciding between two options for his MLB future.

No. 1 was a two-year, $40 million contract with the Diamondbacks. No. 2, at least on paper, seemed better.

It was a three-year, fully guaranteed deal with the Padres that appeared to have a similar average annual value.

Kelly, though, chose the former — and during a sitdown interview with Foul Territory’s Scott Braun and A.J. Pierzynski this week, he explained the decision was almost entirely due to the Golden State’s tax system.

“I don’t think it’s any secret on how much money you get taken out of your pocket when you go to California,” the 37-year-old right-hander said.

There were, of course, other factors that pulled Kelly toward Arizona. He went to high school at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale and played collegiately at Arizona State.

And, the father of two young kids has called the Phoenix area home while logging innings for the Snakes in each of the past seven seasons.

“Coming back here,” he admitted, “it was always the priority.”

But after Pierzynski jokingly told him he was “the first person ever that’s been offered a bunch of money to go live in San Diego and said no,” Kelly made it crystal clear that giving away a significant portion of his income to a state government was ultimately a dealbreaker for him.

“I love San Diego,” Kelly said. “It’s just, like I said, they take too much money out of my pocket, man. The taxes over there are a different level.

What A Shock

According to the New York Post:

The number of properties sold in California over the past three years was 24% lower than the same time period before the Great Recession, sparking fears of a statewide crash.

The Golden State had 954,423 property sales in 2023-25, down from 1.25 million in 2007-2009, according to figures from real estate data provider Attom.

That means homebuying in California was 24% slower over the past three years than it was in the run-up to the apocalyptic housing crash that triggered the Great Recession.

California’s sales pace over the past three years is down 31% compared to the previous 18 years, while the nationwide drop was 6%.

But while the statewide median property price plummeted 55% — from nearly $600,000 in 2007 to roughly $275,000 in 2009 — prices have actually increased over the past three years, the Orange County Register’s business columnist Jon Lansner reported.

California’s median home price rose 9% from December 2022 to December 2025, reaching $710,000, just 5% below its all-time high.

When the subprime mortgage market collapsed, many homeowners couldn’t find a buyer and walked away from their houses after foreclosures, as the Fed lowered interest rates.

As people were forced out of homes they couldn’t afford, the resulting oversupply tanked property values.

But the current Mexican standoff in California stems from the lock-in effect: owners with 3% mortgage rates refuse to sell and move into a new 7% rate, keeping the market frozen.

Sellers reluctant to lose their low rates and buyers unable to afford high ones result in today’s stagnant market, keeping prices high because inventory is scarce.

On top of that, the first-time buyer affordability index shows less than a third of California households could qualify for a starter home in 2023-25.

Only 30% of households in the state qualified, down from 49% in 2007-09, according to figures from the California Association of Realtors.

Earlier this year, 30-year mortgage rates dipped below 6% for the first time since 2022, offering potential relief to would-be homeowners.

But Lansner warned that no rapid price correction is likely.

In the three years after the Great Recession, California housing sales grew by just 8% while home prices recovered by 15% through the end of 2012, according to official figures.

He Shouldn’t Be Running

According to the California Post:

An elementary school in Fresno was forced to file a police report after a child sex offender running for city council held a press conference just steps away.

Rene Campos, 41, a candidate in Fresno City Council‘s District 7 race, spoke Friday on a street outside St. John’s Cathedral to address outrage over his past, the Fresno Bee reported.

He was about 10 feet away from Big Picture Elementary School, a public charter school, which later contacted local cops.

Until 2015, under Jessica’s Law, California prohibited registered sex offenders from living within 2,000ft of any school or park in the state.

The law was later declared unconstitutional by the California Supreme Court, which ruled that residency restrictions must be applied on a case-by-case basis.

It remains unclear whether Campos is subject to any specific court orders, restraining orders or individualized restrictions related to his offense, or whether his limitations fall solely under California’s general sex offender registration requirements.

Campos, who is running to unseat incumbent Nelson Esparza, has not publicly clarified the scope of any conditions that may apply to him. The Post reached out for comment.

Esparza said the council is considering legislation to prevent people like Campos from seeking office. Other city leaders were also furious.

A Hero!

According to the New York Post:

A Nashville elementary school has cleared the record of a first-grade teacher who was disciplined for refusing to read a book about same-sex marriage to his young students, according to a report.

KIPP Antioch College Prep Elementary issued a “final warning letter” to teacher Eric Rivera in January after he declined to read an LGBTQ book to his class that was included in the language arts curriculum.

Due to his Christian beliefs, Rivera said he could not in good conscience read the book to his class, according to legal group First Liberty Institute, and he asked a colleague to read the book instead.

The next day, Rivera was summoned to the principal’s office and threatened with termination. He was told he must maintain “fidelity” to the curriculum, and a discipline letter was placed in his personnel file.

First Liberty said Rivera had received no prior warnings and had no discipline history. Afterward, he asked for a religious accommodation but was instead reassigned to a lab and technology position and then to a kindergarten position, according to the legal group.

After facing a warning letter from First Liberty in February, KIPP Antioch agreed to clear the incident from Rivera’s record, according to a press release Monday from the legal group.

The school will now also allow “all teachers to ask another employee to read materials objectionable to their faith.”

This Probably Is Not Going to Fix Anything

According to the California Post:

The effort to breathe boozy life back into the state’s struggling downtown comes courtesy of a pair of San Francisco lawmakers who want to let cities create special zones where bars and restaurants can serve drinks until 4 a.m., two hours past the legal closing time.

“The nightlife economy is responsible in our state without a doubt for tens of billions of dollars in revenue, hundreds of thousands of jobs,” Matt Haney, a Democratic state assemblyman who introduced the bill, told CBS News.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the number of people visiting businesses in downtowns across the Golden State. California cities are recovering at different rates, but none have reached the levels saw in 2019.

“Getting people back out in the streets is key to the economic recovery of cities across California,” said Wiener, a Democratic state senator who introduced the bill along with Haney.

“By creating Entertainment Zones, we’re giving people a reason to go back to areas where recovery has been slow while creating a vital new revenue stream for bars and restaurants.”

Should the bill pass, bars would need to pay an extra $2,500 each year for a permit to sell alcohol until 4 a.m.

“When the sun goes down, there is so much that is economic and culturally important,” Haney told CBS News.

Episode 1167 – The Exodus from California Continues!

California loses another billionaire after the state threatens to implement a wealth tax.

Joe Biden’s FBI has been proven to have been acting badly. Will anything come of it?

And CNN is about to release a documentary on Christian Nationalism. This raises a couple of questions.

News

Here is some news:

  • Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg is the latest billionaire to escape California ahead of a hefty proposed wealth tax. The director recently purchased a home in the iconic San Remo co-op in New York City overlooking Central Park.
  • Public Storage announced it is leaving California and moving its corporate headquarters from Glendale to Frisco, Texas.
    • Public Storage operates thousands of self-storage units across the country.
  • Blu Zeke Daly, 26, of Manchester, previously known as “Cullen Zeke Daly,” reportedly pulled a vehicle up to a closed gate at the US-Canadian Pittsburgh Port of Entry and fired gunshots at a Border Patrol agent when approached.
    • The suspect is trans nonbinary.
  •  The FBI under Joe Biden subpoenaed the phone records of now-FBI Director Kash Patel and now-White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in 2022 and 2023, when both were private citizens. The phone records grab was part of the Biden administration’s investigation into Donald Trump.
  • New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is proposing to spend $70 million on his plan for a network of government-owned grocery stores, a sum $10 million higher than he pledged on the campaign trail, even as his administration warns of a multibillion-dollar fiscal shortfall and raises the prospect of higher property taxes.
  • Cuba’s Interior Ministry reported that four men aboard a US-registered speedboat were killed after opening fire on a Cuban coast guard vessel near Cayo Falcones on Wednesday morning. Six additional passengers were wounded and received medical care.
    • The ministry said the Florida-registered vessel, carrying at least 10 people, was detected in Cuban waters off the country’s northern coast in Villa Clara province. When five members of the Cuban border guard approached the speedboat to verify its identity, the crew allegedly opened fire, injuring the Cuban commander.
    • The Cuban government later said that the 10 passengers who opened fire on soldiers were Cubans who had been living in the US and were seeking to infiltrate the island nation for the purpose of committing terrorism, the AP reports. The government claimed that the passengers on the boat “have a known history of criminal and violent activity.”
  • No movement on Iran.
    • They continue to talk in Geneva.
    • Iran refuses to give up their “peaceful” nuclear ambitions.
    • Iran refuses to giver up their ballistic missile program.
    • Iran refuses to giver up their nuclear materials.
    • The Trump administration says both Iranian demands are unacceptable.
    • The United States shipped a bunch of F-22s to Israel.
    • We should know more over the next 48 to 72 hours.

Just fucking dumb! Here is Rep Jenelle Bynum saying that Trump asking politicians to stand if they believe government should protect American citizens over illegal aliens. You’ll be shocked at what she says:

This Sounds Good!

Some things:

  • She doesn’t call this “White Christian Nationalism”. They take the racial component out of it.
  • She says that the country was based on Judeo/Christian principles. It was.
  • She says that Judeo/Christian principles should influence our laws and culture. It should. We aren’t kicking anyone out of the country because they have a different religion.
  • Charlie Kirk’s death did create a revitalization of Christianity. So did the assassination attempts of Donald Trump.
  • Notice, all the violence is coming out of the Left.

They Might As Well As Cancel It Now

According to the Post Millennial:

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy features a gay Klingon cadet. The show features a lesbian relationship between a mixed Klingon and Jem’Hadar and Tig Notaro, who plays a teacher at the Academy, as well as a Klingon man who dates a human.

“I won’t pretend that I wasn’t scared to take on this role. Part of me still is. Not because of the character himself, but because I knew the reaction that could come with it,” actor Karim Diané said of his character, Jay-Den Kraag, per Pink News.

To those who aren’t crazy about the warrior race being displayed as gay, Diané says their concerns are just “rooted in homophobia, racism, bigotry.” In the Star Trek universe, Klingons are a warrior race who are always ready for a fight and go into battle under the mantra “today is a good day to die.”

“But what matters more is this,” said Diané, “over the past few weeks since this show premiered, I’ve received countless messages from LGBTQ+ people around the world… people who feel seen, validated, and inspired by Jay-Den. Those messages outweigh every bit of negativity. Every single time.”

Episode 7, which aired this week, showed the Klingon character heading off to Ibiza to party down with his gay lover Kyle for spring break, or “All Worlds Day,” as it’s called on the show. Jay-Den Kraag didn’t even end up making it on the trip; he got sidetracked by another plot line, but Kyle came back terribly sunburned. Other cadets spent their All Worlds Day holidays with their families.

Of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, Diané said he imagined a future that expanded who gets to be seen, heard, and valued. “A future where diversity isn’t merely tolerated but celebrated. Jay-Den doesn’t exist outside of that tradition. He exists because of it. ‘Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations’ isn’t just a catchy phrase Roddenberry tossed around. I believe he truly meant it,” he said.

Trekkers and Trekkies on X spoke out against the absurdity of taking a Star Trek series and making it about sexual identity, with one user saying “life long star trek fan but have not even started watching starfleet academy, i just can´t. from captain picard fighting the borg which was beyond epic to increasingly woke and insane storylines with every new series of star trek that has made it impossible to watch.”

“And then they wonder why people only watch the old shows, is because they were fun and entertaining not a platform to push an agenda,” said another.

You Don’t Say!

What a Dolt

According to the Daily Wire:

Actor Ted Levine apologized recently for his iconic turn as cross-dressing serial killer Jame Gumb in the 1991  horror classic “The Silence of the Lambs,” saying that it was “f*cking wrong” that the film had “vilified” the apparent gender confusion of his character.

Levine told The Hollywood Reporter that his intent had always been to play Gumb — nicknamed “Buffalo Bill” — as a “f*cked-up heterosexual man” despite the fact that the character dresses in women’s clothing, wears makeup, and skins his female victims in an effort to make himself a suit of female flesh.

“There are certain aspects of the movie that don’t hold up too well,” he said. “We all know more, and I’m a lot wiser about transgender issues. There are some lines in that script and movie that are unfortunate.”

Levine said that when they were making the film — based on the 1988 Thomas Harris novel by the same title — he had not been particularly concerned, but that “over time and having gotten aware and worked with trans folks, and understanding a bit more about the culture and the reality of the meaning of gender — it’s unfortunate that the film vilified that, and it’s f*cking wrong. And you can quote me on that.”

“I didn’t play him as being gay or trans. I think he was just a f*cked-up heterosexual man. That’s what I was doing,” Levine explained.

Episode 1137 – Well, It’s About Time!

An arrest is finally made on a mystery from January 6th.

An Illinois church decides to commit blasphemy in order to make a political point.

And it appears Democrats like food stamp fraud.

It’s About Time

According to Fox News:

A suspect who allegedly planted pipe bombs blocks from the U.S. Capitol on January 5, 2021, is now in federal custody after a nearly five-year investigation, law enforcement sources told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

The FBI arrested the suspect, a male living in Virginia, early Thursday morning, the sources said. The man in custody is named Brian Cole, two sources said.

Authorities discovered the two pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committees’ headquarters around the same time that thousands of protesters a few blocks away began to descend on the Capitol over the 2020 election results.

He Not On Your Side, Folks!

According to Fox News:

An Illinois church is facing criticism for displaying a Nativity scene that depicts baby Jesus with his hands zip-tied and guarded by figures styled as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Lake Street Church of Evanston is displaying the scene outside on its grounds. Baby Jesus is wrapped in a thin blanket resembling aluminum foil, which the church said is a reference to the emergency blankets used in detention facilities. Masked centurions, officers in the ancient Roman army, are depicted in sunglasses and green vests labeled “ICE.”

It also shows Mother Mary wearing a respirator mask “to protect herself from tear gas,” according to the church. Joseph is also masked.

In a Facebook post last week, the church said the installation reimagines the Nativity as a scene of forced family separation, drawing parallels between the Holy Family’s refugee flight and modern immigration detention practices.

“This installation reimagines the nativity as a scene of forced family separation, drawing direct parallels between the Holy Family’s refugee experience and contemporary immigration detention practices,” the post reads.

“‘The Holy Family were refugees. This is not political interpretation, this is the reality described in the stories our tradition has told and retold for millenia,’” it continues. “‘By witnessing this familiar story through the reality faced by migrants today, we hope to restore its radical edge, and to ask what it means to celebrate the birth of a refugee child while turning away those who follow in that child’s footsteps.’”

Then They Should Do Their Jobs

According to Perplexity:

Twenty-one Democratic-led states and Washington, D.C., have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s latest SNAP guidance, arguing it unlawfully cuts off food aid to certain lawful immigrants and threatens states with massive financial penalties if they do not quickly comply.

What the lawsuit challenges

The suit targets October 31 guidance from USDA that interprets provisions of Trump’s new budget and tax package (“One Big Beautiful Bill”) to make many lawful permanent residents who previously had refugee or asylum status ineligible for SNAP, despite statutes that treat those categories as fully eligible once they get green cards. The attorneys general say this reverses longstanding policy, conflicts with federal law, and was issued without a reasoned explanation or proper implementation timeline.

Who is suing and where

A coalition of 21 Democratic attorneys general plus the D.C. attorney general filed the case in federal district court in Eugene, Oregon. States joining include California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Washington, Wisconsin, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont, along with Washington, D.C.

What the states argue

The states argue USDA’s memo illegally denies SNAP to refugees, asylees, humanitarian parolees, and similar groups once they become lawful permanent residents, even though federal law makes them eligible on the same terms as citizens after that point. They also say USDA skipped the required 120‑day grace period and is threatening states with extreme fiscal sanctions and higher error‑rate penalties if they do not reprogram eligibility systems almost overnight.

What Trump’s changes do more broadly

The contested guidance sits on top of broader SNAP changes in Trump’s July “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which sharply tightens eligibility, expands work requirements, and shifts more administrative and benefit costs onto states over the next few years. Analysts estimate roughly 186 billion dollars in SNAP reductions over ten years, with additional future obligations for states if their payment error rates exceed new thresholds.

How the administration responds

The Trump administration defends the policy as part of a mandate to reduce “waste, fraud, and abuse” and to ensure that benefits go to citizens rather than people it characterizes as ineligible non‑citizens, while declining detailed comment on the pending case. USDA has publicly maintained that its interpretation of the law and the timing of the implementation window are correct, even as multiple Democratic‑led states simultaneously pursue a separate lawsuit over a new demand for sensitive SNAP recipient data.

Here IS The Conflict

According to the Daily Wire:

An illegal immigrant cop who was arrested by federal authorities in October and later released has since been brought back onto the force.

The Hanover Police Department announced Tuesday that it has brought Radule Bojovic, an illegal immigrant from Montenegro, back on as an officer following his release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention in October. Bojovic overstayed a B2 tourist visa that required him to leave the United States on March 31, 2015, the Department of Homeland Security said at the time of his arrest.

An immigration judge granted a $2,500 immigration bond just two weeks after he was picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bojovic returned to work Monday and will receive a paycheck for the time he missed while he was detained, the department said in a statement Tuesday.

Despite his immigration status, Bojovic was hired in January because he had a federal work permit and passed all background checks, the department said.

Bojovic was eligible to receive a starting salary of $78,955.70 when he was hired, according to the Department of Homeland Security. His 2025 earnings were $205,707, including $9,276 for FICA/Medicare taxes.

No More Dorritos

According to the New York Times:

The San Francisco city attorney filed on Tuesday the nation’s first government lawsuit against food manufacturers over ultraprocessed fare, arguing that cities and counties have been burdened with the costs of treating diseases that stem from the companies’ products.

David Chiu, the city attorney, sued 10 corporations that make some of the country’s most popular food and drinks. Ultraprocessed products now comprise 70 percent of the American food supply and fill grocery store shelves with a kaleidoscope of colorful packages.

Think Slim Jim meat sticks and Cool Ranch Doritos. But also aisles of breads, sauces and granola bars marketed as natural or healthy.

It is a rare issue on which the liberal leaders in San Francisco City Hall are fully aligned with the Trump administration, which has targeted ultraprocessed foods as part of its Make America Healthy Again mantra.

Mr. Chiu’s lawsuit, which was filed in San Francisco Superior Court on behalf of the State of California, seeks unspecified damages for the costs that local governments bear for treating residents whose health has been harmed by ultraprocessed food.

It’s Not a Person

According to Perplexity:

Yes—prediction and betting markets currently show “Artificial Intelligence” as the frontrunner for TIME’s 2025 Person of the Year, edging figures like Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Pope Leo XIV.

What the odds say

  • Polymarket contracts currently price AI as the most likely pick, ahead of Jensen Huang and Pope Leo XIV, indicating the market consensus that AI’s influence defined 2025.
  • Multiple outlets summarizing prediction markets and odds boards likewise list AI at or near the top, reinforcing that AI is leading the race across speculative venues.

Context and precedent

  • TIME has on rare occasions selected non-human entities when their influence dominated the year; “The Computer” was chosen in 1982, a precedent often cited in current market commentary about AI’s candidacy.
  • Media coverage notes AI’s outsized cultural, economic, and political footprint in 2025 as the core rationale behind its leading odds.

Key contenders behind AI

  • Jensen Huang: Frequently the closest competitor in market pricing, reflecting Nvidia’s central role in AI infrastructure.
  • Pope Leo XIV: Also trading among the top spots on prediction markets, signaling notable global relevance in 2025.

Who Knew?

According to the New York Post:

New research suggests the ages at which cellphones can be most harmful to youth health.

The study, published Monday in the journal Pediatrics, found that those who had a cellphone before the age of 12 were more likely to develop depression, obesity and poor sleep habits compared to those who didn’t.

And the younger kids were when they got a phone, the greater the risk of obesity and insufficient sleep.

Researchers evaluated data from over 10,500 children who participated in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study — the most recent and largest long-term look at children’s brain development.

While the research doesn’t prove that getting a phone at a young age directly causes these outcomes, the findings, along with previous studies, suggest it could lead to less socialization, exercise and sleep.

2023 study found that of 11- and 12-year-olds who had an electronic device in their bedrooms, nearly 17% were buzzed awake by notifications.

Meanwhile, more than 80% of children between the ages of 11 and 17 don’t get the recommended amount of daily physical activity, thanks in part to an increased fixation on screens. Being sedentary can lead to poor health and social behavior in kids.

And since adolescence is an essential period for growth, these changes can have long-term effects on mental and physical health, according to researchers.

He Ain’t a Survivor

According to the New York Post:

Jawan Pitts is still reeling from his experience on “Survivor 49.”

The 28-year-old video editor became the fourth black player voted off in a row during Wednesday night’s episode — which he’s still processing months after filming ended.

“First off, it was a topic of discussion out there,” Pitts exclusively told The Post on Monday. “Me and Kristina [Mills] had a back and forth about it.”

“I think as a viewer, it’s hard to watch. When it happened on [Season] 42… you know, I’m a part of the community too, so I definitely felt it,” he continued. “But I think in the game it was so hard to put a pin on it. And even experiencing it, I’m going to therapy to truly kind of process. I’m like, ‘Why? Why did that happen?’”

But Pitts clarified that from his perspective, he doesn’t believe there were “any alternative motives” in how the post-merge boot order has panned out.

“I think the game was so fluid and there was so many things — advantages, variables,” he said. “So I think that’s how I feel personally.”

Pitts also told The Post he wanted to address “the elephant in the room” regarding the fact that he voted out fellow black contestants Nate Moore, MC Chukwujekwu and Alex Moore.

“I just want to step back and look at the optics of the jury and just hold space for that for a moment. And maybe anybody that’s watching it and feeling uncomfortable, I want their feelings to feel validated,” he explained. “And also more specifically with MC, I want to hold space for her hurt feelings. But I also want to use this time to share some insight into why I made those decisions.”
