Canada is fast approaching its 100,000th death from Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), a grim milestone that puts it way ahead of every other nation.

Health Canada reported that 76,475 Canadians had died under MAID as of December 31, 2024. New cases were arriving at roughly 45 per day, with 2024 alone recording 16,499 deaths. Even if approvals have steadied in recent months, the government’s own trajectory suggests the 100,000th death could come in early June, weeks before the 10th anniversary of Bill C-14, which first legalized doctor-assisted suicide.

“This spring, we’re about to hit our 100,000th individual,” said Canadian anti-MAID activist Kelsi Sheren on a podcast with British rapper Nzube Udezue, known as Zuby, according to the National Post. Sheren has tracked the milestone closely, warning that the country is approaching a six-figure tally in assisted deaths.

Canada legalized MAID in 2016, years after the Netherlands and Belgium, which began allowing assisted suicide in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Unlike Belgium,  Canada does not yet permit assisted suicide for patients suffering solely from mental illness, a step planned for early 2027, but the pace of deaths isn’t slowing down.

Even as a later adopter, Canada’s MAID numbers have surged faster than any other jurisdiction. In 2020, assisted deaths jumped 36.8 percent from 5,461 to 7,451, then climbed another 34.8 percent to 9,842 the following year.  If trends continue, Canada could surpass the combined totals of every other country with legal euthanasia in a single year.

New Zealand, comparatively, has recorded roughly 1,000 deaths since 2021, Spain 697 in its first three years, and Colombia 692 between 2015 and 2023. In the US, state-level assisted suicide has existed since 1998, with total deaths reaching 5,329 across all states by 2022.

Even in Europe, long-standing euthanasia programs have produced smaller totals. Switzerland tallied 8,738 deaths over 20 years, Belgium 33,647 over 21 years. Only the Netherlands reports a higher share of assisted deaths relative to total mortality—5.8 percent versus 5.1 percent for Canada—but the larger Canadian population means more individual lives lost: 16,499 in 2024 alone, compared with 9,958 in the Netherlands.

You Couldn’t Hate the NBA Enough

The Atlanta Hawks are apparently making the most out of International Women’s Month by teaming up with a famous strip club as part of their promotional “Magic City Monday” game on March 16.

The NBA team put out a release that stated the “Magic City Monday” game will honor one of Atlanta’s “iconic cultural institutions” with special food and a halftime performance by Atlanta great, T.I.

“The Hawks have worked with Magic City to bring the ‘best of’ the phenomena for fans in attendance at the award-winning State Farm Arena,” the statement read.

“We doin’ this one for the city… Magic City,” T.I. said.

The famous Atlanta strip club has been around since the ’80s and is known for more than just its strippers. Magic City is famous for its lemon pepper wings, which will be featured at the “Magic City Monday” game in a few weeks.

“From the food to the music and the exclusive merchandise, we are excited to team up with Magic City to create an authentic, True to Atlanta-inspired game experience,” said Hawks Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Proctor.

The wings are apparently so good that during the NBA bubble season in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, former Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams broke protocol to visit Magic City for the wings and was forced to miss games because of the mandatory 10-day quarantine the league required.

Not all NBA players are excited for this collab during a month that’s meant to celebrate women’s accomplishments. San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet penned an article asking Atlanta to cancel “Magic City Monday” theme night because he said the promotion doesn’t protect or esteem women and would reflect poorly on the NBA.

“The NBA should desire to protect and esteem women, many of whom work diligently every day to make this the best basketball league in the world,” Kornett wrote. “We should promote an atmosphere that is protective and respectful of the daughters, wives, sisters, mothers, and partners that we know and love.”

While most Republicans largely rallied around Trump’s decision to carry out the massive joint attack with Israel, Democrats quickly denounced the attack as an illegal “war of choice” and demanded Congress come back to Washington to take a vote on whether to authorize another Middle East invasion.

Democratic leaders have vowed to forge ahead with their plans to force a vote on a war powers resolution next week in the House that would block Trump from carrying out additional strikes.

More than 800,000 customers in the United States, as far west as New Mexico, were without electricity, and over 10,000 flights were canceled on Sunday ahead of a monster winter storm that threatened to paralyze eastern states with heavy snowfall.

Forecasters said snow, sleet, freezing rain, and dangerously frigid temperatures would sweep the eastern two-thirds of the nation on Sunday and into the week.

The number of power outages continued to rise. As of 10:18 a.m. EST (1518 GMT) on Sunday, more than 800,000 U.S. customers were without electricity, according to PowerOutage.us, with at least 300,000 in Tennessee and over 100,000 each in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. Other states affected included Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama.

The Department of Energy on Saturday issued an emergency order authorizing the Electric Reliability Council of Texas to deploy backup generation resources at data centers and other major facilities, aiming to limit blackouts in the state.

On Sunday, the DOE issued an emergency order to authorize grid operator PJM Interconnection to run “specified resources” in the mid-Atlantic region, regardless of limits due to state laws or environmental permits.

The National Weather Service warned of an unusually expansive and long-duration winter storm that would bring widespread, heavy ice accumulation in the Southeast, where “crippling to locally catastrophic impacts” can be expected.

Weather service forecasters predicted record cold temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills descending further into the Great Plains region by Monday.

Federal officials say violent unrest in Minneapolis directly derailed an immigration arrest, leaving a suspect with a serious criminal history at large while a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was permanently maimed after a protester bit off part of his finger.

U.S. Border Patrol Commander at Large Greg Bovino said during a press conference on Sunday that Border Patrol and ICE agents were forced to abandon a targeted operation after crowds interfered, assaulted officers and turned the scene chaotic.

As a result, he said, the suspect escaped custody – a failure he blamed solely on the decisions made by politicians, activists and those who confronted law enforcement officials.

“This individual is still roaming the streets today,” Bovino said. “This individual walks the streets today because of those choices made by politicians and those, perhaps, weaker-minded constituents that chose to follow directions of those politicians. Sad state of affairs.”

The unrest erupted after a Border Patrol agent fatally shot a man during the same enforcement operation, an incident that officials said set off the violent clashes.

Federal officials identified the man fatally shot by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday as Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a member of the American Federation of Government Employees. Pretti, 37, lived in Minneapolis and worked as an intensive care unit nurse at a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital.

Authorities said Pretti was shot during an early-morning immigration enforcement operation targeting Jose Huerta-Chuma, an illegal immigrant with a criminal history that includes domestic assault involving intentional bodily harm, disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license. According to Homeland Security officials, Pretti approached Border Patrol agents while armed with a 9 mm pistol and “violently resisted” when agents attempted to disarm him.

One of the key negotiators who helped end the last government shutdown won’t support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill, further adding to the likelihood of another closure. 

Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, told CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday that he could not support the current, six-bill funding package as is because it included the DHS funding bill. King was a pivotal figure in ending the last shutdown, and was one of only eight Senate Democratic caucus members to join Republicans to end it. 

King, like other members of the Senate Democratic caucus, is infuriated by the death of Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old nurse who was shot dead by a border patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday. 

Congressional Democrats have railed against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entering Minnesota and elsewhere, but begrudgingly agreed to support the DHS bill until the chaos over the weekend unfolded.

“I hate shutdowns,” King said. “I’m one of the people that helped negotiate the solution to the last — the end of the last shutdown, but I can’t vote for a bill that includes ICE funding under the circumstances.” 

King’s resistance to the package comes after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced that Senate Democrats would not support the legislation, increasing the odds of a partial government shutdown by the end of the week.

Virginia Democrats have introduced legislation that would significantly raise income and investment taxes, putting the Commonwealth on track to become the highest-taxed state in the nation. These proposals, which include new top tax brackets and higher levies on investment income, would push Virginia’s effective income tax rate above California’s.

Democrats introduced the legislation shortly after consolidating power in Richmond, creating higher income tax brackets and expanding taxes on capital gains and other investment income. If lawmakers enact the bills, the changes would raise Virginia’s top effective income tax rate to roughly 13.8%, surpassing all other states.

Lawmakers backing the measures argue the tax hikes are necessary to fund public priorities and stabilize state finances. Virginia Delegate Kelly Convirs-Fowler (D-VA) said the proposals would require “millionaires [to] pay their fair share of taxes,” arguing the revenue would help “buffer” Virginians from broader economic pressures. Left-wing policy group The Commonwealth Institute, one of the many groups behind this proposed plan, said a “Fair Share tax” could raise more than $1 billion annually for education, housing, and other public services.

Democrats have positioned the tax proposals as part of a broader affordability agenda. Governor Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) has said her administration will prioritize lowering health care, housing, and energy costs. She campaigned on what she called an agenda to build a more “Affordable Virginia.”

Other things this broad has signed into law on day one:

  • She ended cooperation with ICE and DHS.
  • She ended mandatory sentencing. Those bills included a proposal to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing for rape, manslaughter, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession and distribution of child pornography, and other repeat violent felonies. Democrats also removed the mandatory minimum five-day sentence for first time DUI offenders in the state.
  • She signed a bill aimed at requiring government contracts under $100,000 go to minority and women-owned businesses, leading some critics to argue the move is discriminatory against White men.
  • The last step in a series of actions needed to take place to enshrine abortion rights in Virginia’s state Constitution was also just passed by the Democratic Party-led state Senate. If approved by voters in November, the constitutional amendment would permit abortion in the first and second trimesters, while letting Virginia regulate abortion in the third trimester for various reasons.

Should Have Been Done Before

The Trump administration is ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for those from Somalia living in the US. Those Somalis that have been living in the US under TPS will be required to go back to their country starting on March 17 later this year.

“Temporary means temporary,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. “Country conditions in Somalia have improved to the point that it no longer meets the law’s requirement for Temporary Protected Status.”

“Further, allowing Somali nationals to remain temporarily in the United States is contrary to our national interests,” Noem added, per Fox News. “We are putting Americans first.” According to the outlet, there are 2,471 Somalis living in the US with TPS, and there are also 1,383 in the country with pending TPS applications as well. The move from the Trump administration comes as ICE is carrying out surged immigration enforcement operations in Minnesota amid the fallout of a widespread fraud scandal in the state.

The issue, although it has been developing for some time, was highlighted by a viral report from independent reporter Nick Shirley, who went to Minnesota to uncover fraud at daycare centers, many of them being run by the Somali population. Roughly $9 billion in fraud schemes have plagued the state, with more reportedly left to uncover.

There are around 600 Somalis with TPS status living in Minnesota. The country of Somalia was granted TPS in 1991 when there was an ongoing civil war in the nation. President Joe Biden had extended TPS status for Somalis in 2024.

A new House proposal aims to crack down on abuses of the student visa system, including by imposing tougher penalties on administrators and institutions found responsible for visa fraud.

The “Student Visa Integrity Act,” introduced by Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), would tighten visa expiration dates and require in-person interviews for visa extensions for applicants from countries considered sponsors of terrorism or that are in programs otherwise deemed high national security risks.

Under the proposal, students from state sponsors of terrorism, nations with an overstay rate of 10% or higher, or institutions that do not use E-Verify would be limited to a maximum student visa term of two years.

“Studying in the United States is a privilege, not a right,” Gill told The Daily Wire. “Unfortunately, a system intended to spread the American dream has been abused by fraudsters and bad actors. My bill restores integrity to a system that has been exploited for decades by protecting national security, enforcing immigration law, and ensuring the student visa program serves America’s interests.”

Gill’s proposal would also require educational institutions and affiliated organizations to disclose any financial links to China. In addition, the bill would set new limits on foreign students wanting to transfer between schools.

The bill also empowers the Department of Homeland Security to reject student visa applicants from “countries of concern” if the applicant could pose a future national security risk to the United States. That includes individuals seeking to work in “the energy sector of Iran” or to “participate in coursework or training relating to or otherwise engage in flight training, aviation maintenance, or flight operations.”

New video footage shared Saturday shows the minutes that lead up to the fatal shooting of a Minneapolis woman by a federal agent, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS shared video on its X account that appeared to be three-and-a-half minutes of footage taken by a citizen from inside a nearby home showing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and multiple vehicles out in the residential street.

A car can be heard honking its horn repeatedly while someone can be heard continually blowing a whistle. At one point, the video pans over to what appears to be Renee Nicole Good’s Honda Pilot that is parked in the middle of the street.

“The media continues to fail the American people in their reporting on the events in Minneapolis,” DHS claimed in the post. “New evidence shows that the anti-ICE agitator was STALKING and IMPEDING a law enforcement operation over the course of the morning.”

Here’s what we know about Renee Good and her crimes:

Bob Weir, who co-founded the Grateful Dead and helped introduce new generations to the band at the end of a virtuosic career, died Saturday following a brief battle with cancer. He was 78.

Local law enforcement in L.A. is prohibited from directly enforcing federal immigration law or collaborating with ICE on immigration enforcement actions. The DOJ argues that L.A. is discriminating against the federal government, specifically treating immigration officers differently than other law enforcement officials. Iran’s despotic theocratic government is trumpeting that they have arrested over 700 people and executed six accused of belonging to an “Israeli spy network” since Israel’s June 13 attack.

“Reports show men in prison jumpsuits confessing that they were recruited as Israeli spies, along with weapons they were supposedly planning to use. Analysts say the confessions are probably coerced, and an analysis of the images by the FRANCE 24 Observers team found no evidence of any Israeli-made weapons among the supposed seizures,” France 24 reported, adding that Iranian state media revealed at least six men accused of spying for Israel have been executed since the Israeli attack on June 13: Edris Ali, Azad Shojaei, Rasoul Ahmad Mohammad, Madjid Mossayebi, Esmaeil Fekri, and Mohammad Amin Shayesteh.

“In two instances where state media have presented images of these confiscated weapons, the photographs appear to be either fake or staged,” France 24 noted.

“So far, we have seen reports of the arrest of hundreds of people over alleged accusations of espionage, of cooperation with Israel,” Hussein Baoumi, the deputy regional director for the Middle East and North Africa at Amnesty International, told CNN on Thursday. “We have also seen the execution of at least six men since the 16th of June on similar accusations. To be absolutely clear, these are people that were — had trials that would run into about 10 minutes in front of revolutionary courts that lack any resemblance of fair trials and where the use of forced confessions is quite worried (sic).”

“What we are seeing really is a continuing of what the Iranian government and authorities have been doing for months, but also for decades and years,” he continued. “I mean, what we have been seeing is that this is a government that has been using arrests and executions to crack down on any sort of opposition. We have seen how the government have used arrests and executions against protesters in recent years. … This needs to be put in its own context, right, which is that this is a government that has lived under massive impunity for decades. Iranian officials feel empowered to do so because they do not expect any sort of retribution or any sort of being held accountable for their crimes.”

On Thursday, the Iranian exiled women’s organization Association Femme Azadi reported, “Reports confirm the arrest of rabbis and religious leaders in Tehran and Shiraz, accused, without evidence, of ties to Israel.”

A home in Los Angeles was an Iranian human smuggling hub, according to Customs and Border Patrol after two individuals were arrested Friday afternoon in a Los Angeles County neighborhood. The home had previously been the site of the arrest of seven Iranian nationals earlier this week, some of whom were reportedly flagged on the FBI’s Terrorist Watchlist.

Federal agents with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) were seen executing a warrant at a residence in North Hills around 3 pm on Friday, marking the second law enforcement action at the property this week. CBP said that the arrests were in connection to a human smuggling hub in LA, per Foc LA.

“Earlier this week, seven Iranian nationals were arrested at the same address—including individuals on the FBI Terror Watchlist and associates of an Iranian human trafficking network,” CBP posted to X.

“The location has been repeatedly used to harbor illegal entrants linked to terrorism,” CBP stated in a post on X. “Under @POTUS, CBP is taking aggressive action to shut down smuggling networks and remove national security threats before they can do harm.”

CBP Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham elaborated on the situation in a statement, saying, “Intelligence indicates the smuggling network has trafficked individuals from adversarial regimes, including Iran — posing direct risks to U.S. national security.”

According to a report by KCAL News, residents in the neighborhood explained that someone new moved into the home about six months ago. They added that behavior around the home was suspicious.

“There was a bunch of young people and they would hang out at night, pacing on the phone, sitting on the curb,” said neighbor Claudio Bonoli. “Talking to my neighbors, they say they were kind of intimidated by them.”

“It’s only two houses from my house,” he added. “This has been a really great, quiet neighborhood for a long time. So, it’s totally surprising.”

The US Department of Justice announced Monday that it has filed a legal action against the State of Washington, challenging a new law that the department says violates constitutional protections for religious freedom.

At the center of the dispute is Senate Bill 5375, signed into law by Democratic Governor Bob Ferguson. The law eliminates the clergy-penitent privilege in cases involving suspected child abuse or neglect, effectively requiring clergy members, including Catholic priests, to report confessions related to such offenses to authorities. For Catholic priests, who are bound by the sacred seal of Confession, complying with the law would result in immediate excommunication from the Church.

According to the Justice Department, the law infringes upon the First Amendment’s Free Exercise Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment by targeting Catholic religious practices and creating a double standard for religious and secular confidentiality.

“Laws that explicitly target religious practices such as the Sacrament of Confession in the Catholic Church have no place in our society,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division. “Senate Bill 5375 unconstitutionally forces Catholic priests in Washington to choose between their obligations to the Catholic Church and their penitents or face criminal consequences, while treating the priest-penitent privilege differently than other well-settled privileges.”

The legal action comes as the Department moves to intervene in Etienne v. Ferguson, a case currently before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. In May, the DOJ also opened a formal civil rights investigation into the law, citing serious concerns about religious liberty.

In an interview last month with The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI, Dhillon elaborated on the department’s concerns. “This looked to me like a First Amendment violation on its face,” she said. “If priests in Washington follow this law, they could be excommunicated for breaking the sacred seal of confession.”

Dhillon, who has a long history of litigating religious freedom cases, said the law appears to ignore established legal protections for religious practice. “The law recognizes certain privileges, like attorney-client and medical confidentiality, but it does not honor the religious confessional, despite it being equally essential in the eyes of many faiths,” she noted.

Referencing the Supreme Court’s ruling in Tandon v. Newsom, Dhillon explained that any law burdening religious practice must withstand strict scrutiny—the highest level of judicial review. “The standard for infringing on religious liberty is incredibly high. Congress has even gone beyond the First Amendment with statutes like RLUIPA and the FACE Act to protect houses of worship.”

While acknowledging the state’s interest in protecting children, Dhillon warned that such goals must be balanced with constitutional rights. “This law puts clergy in an impossible position—comply with the state and be excommunicated, or honor their faith and face legal consequences.”

Critics have also pointed to inconsistencies in how the law treats mandated reporting across professions. During the KVI interview, Hoffman asked Dhillon about proposed legislation that would allow teachers to delay reporting suspected abuse by up to 48 hours. “It’s not even rationally consistent,” she said. “That kind of uneven treatment of religious versus secular institutions is constitutionally indefensible.”

Dhillon emphasized that the DOJ’s action is not politically motivated. “We don’t care which party is involved or which faith is affected,” she said. “This isn’t political—it’s about upholding the Constitution.”

As debate over the law continues, Dhillon urged caution against expanding government authority at the expense of foundational freedoms. “Where does it stop? Can we force everyone to report everything? That becomes compelled speech, which is unconstitutional. This country was built on protecting religious expression, not dismantling it.”

The DOJ has committed to investigating whether the law was intended to discriminate or if its effect is incidental. “Either way, it raises serious constitutional concerns,” Dhillon said.

Disneyland Paris workers were horrified to find a large wedding they were hosting was between a man and a 9-year-old girl — with the groom and child bride’s mom arrested in what is now thought to have been a sick, $150,000 social media stunt.

The French amusement park had been hired early Saturday for the ceremony in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle, with no warning that the bride was just a child, Le Parisien reported.

Some 300 guests and a string quartet arrived around 5 a.m., before the park was open for regular tourists — with horrified employees only then seeing how young the bride was, BFMTV reported.

The “scared and confused” little girl was wearing a wedding dress and 5-inch heels “taped to her feet,” Le Parisien reported.

Staff called police, who arrested four of those involved — including the would-be groom, a 22-year-old British national, BFMTV said.

They also arrested the 41-year-old mother of the 9-year-old girl, both of whom had arrived in Paris from Ukraine two days before the sick ceremony, according to the report.

Police also arrested two Latvian nationals, a 24-year-old woman recruited to play the role of the bride’s sister and a 55-year-old recruited to act as her father, BFMTV reported.

French prosecutors are looking at whether the wedding was a sick stunt for social media — one that cost at least $150,000.

An ad was published online days earlier asking for extras, including 200 adults and 100 children between ages 5 and 15 to take part in a high-end wedding rehearsal, according to BFMTV.

  • Israel Defense Forces launched a sweeping strike on Iran following months of attempted, and seemingly failed, nuclear negotiations.
  • Israel carried out strikes in Iran, adding that explosions were heard in the capital of Tehran.
  • Israel said it launched “Operation Rising Lion” to target Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure
  • A state of emergency has been declared across Israel as the country braces for an Iranian response.
  • Commander-in Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, was killed during Israel’s airstrikes on Iran.
  • The strikes came after Israel first threatened to go after Iran’s nuclear facilities in early November following a series of back-and-forth missile attacks between April and October last year.
  • The United States has been rather subdued. They said we had nothing to do with it, but support Israel.
    • Currently, the Navy is moving a missile ship and a destroyer to Israel.
  • Iran responded with a drone counterattack, and Israel declared the strikes were only the first wave in a broader campaign to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
  • Iran’s mission to the United Nations is calling for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council following Israel’s launch of Operation Rising Lion.
    • “The Israeli regime and its backer — namely the United States — shall be held fully accountable for these blatant violations of international law and their grave consequences,” the mission wrote in a post on X.
    • “Israel, the most terrorist regime in the world, has now crossed every red line, and the international community must not allow these crimes to go unpunished,” Araghchi wrote.

A Man, A Myth, A Legend!

Picture this: you lace up your shoes, take a breath of fresh mountain air, and hit the trail in the Grand Tetons National Park. You complete a legendary speed record in the world of ultra-running, and fellow runners are celebrating you. Then, you’re slapped with a federal crime.

Sounds like a joke, right? Sadly, it’s real—and it’s happening now to Michelino Sunseri, a 32-year-old bartender and record-setting mountain runner.

Sunseri ran a trail that hundreds if not thousands before him had done: he took a well-worn trail, one that’s been used for decades by hikers, climbers, and runners alike. There was no gate. No park ranger stopping people. Just a tiny sign about “erosion” half-hidden in the sagebrush. But that was enough for the National Park Service to charge him with a federal crime.

Now, Sunseri is looking at up to $5,000 in fines, a possible six months in federal prison, and worst of all—a permanent criminal record. To add insult to injury, he could also be banned from the Grand Tetons National Park, the mountains he loves, for the next five years.

This isn’t justice. This is overcriminalization.

Sunseri should not be a criminal. He didn’t vandalize or hurt anyone. He ran a trail. He did not damage the trail, and he was open about it. He posted his record-breaking run on a digital app, and that’s when government bureaucrats decided to make an example of him.

When federal bureaucrats act as lawmaker, judge, and jury, there’s little any of us can do. As a former federal prosecutor, I can tell you that the Department of Justice wins 90% of its cases. And too often, there is no common sense, no grace, no understanding. Just raw, unchecked power.

And here’s the truth: it can happen to you.

When the government creates a maze of vague rules and hidden signs and then prosecutes people who violate them without knowing and without intent, it’s not justice. It’s about power and control.

Sunseri’s case is a warning to all of us. It shows what happens when Americans are expected to follow rules they can’t even see. No one in the entire federal government keeps track of them all, but we estimate there are more than 300,000 federal statutes and regulations that carry federal criminal penalties.

And remember, once convicted of a federal crime there is no expungement of your record. Even if you’re pardoned, your criminal record follows you for a lifetime and prevents opportunities for housing, education and employment.

Sunseri’s case isn’t about a trail. It’s about the growing divide between everyday citizens and an out-of-touch bureaucracy that thinks it knows best. It’s about the erosion of liberty in the name of government authority.

We cannot sit back and let this continue. Government overreach is real, and this case is Exhibit A. We need laws written by elected lawmakers—not unaccountable federal agencies. We need clarity, not hidden signs and gotcha rules. And above all, we need a justice system that remembers the difference between a criminal—and a man who just loves to run in the mountains where he lives.

What a Shock

Prominent community members of Alaska’s North Slope warmly welcomed top Trump administration officials last week while ripping into the prior administration led by former President Joe Biden.

A trio of Trump cabinet officials – Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and Energy Secretary Chris Wright – traveled to northern Alaska last week to announce that Biden-era restrictions on oil development in the region would be rescinded. The cabinet officials met with North Slope residents in Utqiagvik, Alaska.

Inupiat tribal leaders and officials greeted the news enthusiastically, according to video of the meeting obtained by The Daily Wire.

“When we had a similar meeting with the former Secretary of the Interior, that rule was announced after everybody got on the plane and flew out,” said Josiah Patkotak, mayor of North Slope Borough. He added that the prior administration’s rule “was contrary to what the public comment was.”

“Here we are, full transparency from our own secretary, and I think that deserves another round of applause,” Patkotak said after Burgum announced the administration’s intent to scrap the Biden-era restrictions.

Last year, the Biden administration banned oil and gas exploration and drilling across 10.6 million acres in the National Petroleum Reserve of Alaska (NPRA), a reserve set aside decades ago by Congress for future oil development. The administration put tight restrictions on development on another roughly three million acres of the reserve. In total, over half of the roughly 23-million acre reserve was locked to development.

The Colonial oil pipeline is back online but the cost may be more than is worth.

According to Bloomberg:

“Colonial Pipeline Co. paid nearly $5 million to Eastern European hackers on Friday, contradicting reports earlier this week that the company had no intention of paying an extortion fee to help restore the country’s largest fuel pipeline, according to two people familiar with the transaction.”

So much for never giving in to Russian terrorists.

  • It was found that the best way to get back online was to pay DarkSide, the hacker group, than restore from backup, if that was even possible.
  • The payment was made with Bitcoin, which is untraceable.
  • This really shows the weakness of the Biden administration which saw this as a private matter between the company and the hackers.
  • This will invite more attacks.
  • It will take about two weeks for production levels to reach normal.

Let’s face it, this works for the Biden administration. They want to get rid of fossil fuels. They want people to stop driving cars and start driving electric cars.

Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm was asked, by the purring media, a question that I thought was very telling about what the Left thinks.

The reporter asked:

“Obviously, we have the acute issues with the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack. But looking more holistically in a macro view, how does this speed up the efforts at DOE to move in more of a renewable direction since this is going to have an impact on people at the pump?”

Are you kidding me? This is your question? We had our infrastructure attacked by Russian terrorists, the Biden administration did nothing about it and a reporter asks about how the administration can spend more money on new technology that is around 10% efficient?

God, the media is terrible. But her answer was worse:

“Yeah, I mean, we obviously are ‘all in’ on making sure that we meet the president’s goals of getting to 100% clean electricity by 2035 and net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. And, you know, if you drive an electric car, this would not be affecting you, clearly.”

Really? That’s you answer?

What if you can’t afford the $60,000 an electric car that goes over 100 miles costs? Talk about out-of-touch.

See, here’s the thing: the Biden administration doesn’t care. They don’t care about the people or their lives or what they need to survive.

Meanwhile, the panic continues. A lot of folks in the Southeast are hoarding gas. Today, Biden is telling everyone not to panic, that this whole thing is temporary.

There is a video going around the Internet showing some gal in Florida filling plastic bags with gas and putting it in her trunk. Frigging amazing. Pete Buttigieg, our awesome transportation secretary, actually had to tell people not to put gasoline in plastic bags.

Just amazing. And we are only 113 days into Biden’s Presidency.

Just in Case the Colonial Pipeline Wasn’t Enough

The AP is reporting that a ransomware attack has occurred against the Washington DC police department.

  • The group is another Russian based group called the Babuk group.
  • They are asking for $4 million dollars in ransom.
  • Though not confirmed, the department offered $100,000 but the group said it wasn’t enough.

So, that’s awesome. I guess that’s one way to defund the police. Pay criminal gangs to stay out of police data. What the hell is our government doing?

All Hands on Deck

The battle continues between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

  • There have been close to 4000 missiles launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel.
  • Israel has been responding with 600 of their own attacks. Now, mind you, responding.
  • Israel has said that everything could end if the Palestinians would just stop firing missiles.
  • There have been about 40 deaths so far on both sides.
  • Seven to nine children were killed on the Gaza Strip which has all the Left flipping out. Turns out the missile that hit those children were actually from the Palestinians. So the Palestinians not only don’t care about their people but they are also incompetent.
  • The Palestinians are admitting that they are getting the missiles from Iran. That’s a Joe Biden gaff for giving money to Palestinian Authority and Iran.
  • Israel has threatened a land war and promised it would not end until they killed the leadership of all the heads of Hamas, Fatah and the Islamic Jihad terrorist groups.

The Biden administration sure did a great job destroying Middle East peace in just a few months.

Do I Smell a Coup?

More than 120 retired generals and admirals from the United States Armed Forces warned in a letter this week that the U.S. was entering a state of “deep peril” under the leadership of President Joe Biden and even called into question his physical and mental health.

Here is a bit from the letter:

Our Nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other
time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs.
supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty.

During the 2020 election an “Open Letter from Senior Military Leaders” was signed by 317 retired
Generals and Admirals and, it said the 2020 election could be the most important election since our
country was founded. “With the Democrat Party welcoming Socialists and Marxists, our historic way of
life is at stake.” Unfortunately, that statement’s truth was quickly revealed, beginning with the election
process itself.

Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the “will of the people” our Constitutional
Republic is lost. Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per
citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs,
verified signatures, etc. Today, many are calling such commonsense controls “racist” in an attempt to
avoid having fair and honest elections. Using racial terms to suppress proof of eligibility is itself a
tyrannical intimidation tactic. Additionally, the “Rule of Law” must be enforced in our election
processes to ensure integrity. The FBI and Supreme Court must act swiftly when election irregularities
are surfaced and not ignore them as was done in 2020. Finally, H.R.1 & S.1, (if passed), would destroy
election fairness and allow Democrats to forever remain in power violating our Constitution and
ending our Representative Republic.

Aside from the election, the Current Administration has launched a full-blown assault on our
Constitutional rights in a dictatorial manner, bypassing the Congress, with more than 50 Executive
Orders quickly signed, many reversing the previous Administration’s effective policies and regulations.
Moreover, population control actions such as excessive lockdowns, school and business closures, and
most alarming, censorship of written and verbal expression are all direct assaults on our fundamental
Rights. We must support and hold accountable politicians who will act to counter Socialism, Marxism
and Progressivism, support our Constitutional Republic, and insist on fiscally responsible governing
while focusing on all Americans, especially the middle class, not special interest or extremist groups
which are used to divide us into warring factions.

They also added what the administration is doing that is putting our country at risk. I’ll just list these:

  • The blast the open border policy.
  • They point to the threat from China and how it’s being ignored.
  • They talk about the censorship problem and cancel culture.
  • The cancelling of the Keystone Pipeline and loss of energy independence.
  • Re-entering the Iran Nuclear Deal.
  • The militarization of Washington DC.
  • The politicization of the military.
  • The lack of law and order.
  • The diminished mental capacity of President Biden.

This is dangerous for the Biden administration. But good for us. The military is suppose to protect the Constitution and are suppose to overthrow the U.S. government when it goes outside their Constitutionally mandated powers. It says it in the Constitution and it is the oath every soldier takes when sworn in. They do not swear an oath to the government.

It’s About Damn Time!

Per the Wall Street Journal about the new CDC guidelines released today:

Fully vaccinated people don’t need to wear a mask or physically distance during outdoor or indoor activities, large or small, federal health officials said, the fullest easing of pandemic recommendations so far.

The fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask while traveling by plane, bus or train, and the guidance doesn’t apply in certain places like hospitals, nursing homes and prisons, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday.

This leaves some questions:

  • What changed from last week to this week? The science is the same. Why now?
  • When are the states going to open? I don’t want to wear a mask in a grocery store.
  • When are schools going to open?
  • What if I’m fully vaccinated and don’t want to wear a mask? Do I have to prove it with a vaccine passport?
  • Is Joe Biden going to finally stop wearing his three masks everywhere he goes?

Episode 117 – Representative Cardi?

Iran is falling apart. Democrats, searching for a new narrative, are being called out for supporting the despotic regime. This leads us to the big question: How stable is Iran and what does that mean to us? Supposedly, the articles of impeachment should be heading to the Senate but the House still wants to interview John Bolton. Is this garbage ever going to end? And, try this on for size: Rep. Cardi B.

Oh, by the way, Cory Booker just dropped out of the Democratic Presidential race.

 

It’s Falling Apart in Iran

Let’s see, what has been happening in Iran:

  • Their economy has been trashed because of sanctions and the proxy wars they are participating in.
  • They shut off all social media.
  • They are jailing women who refuse to wear a hijab.
  • They have killed between 1500-2000 protesters.
  • There was an earthquake on top of their nuclear facility (which they can’t afford).
  • The second in charge of the government, Soleimani, was killed in the middle of a terrorist attack against the United States.
  • They had a weak response against the United States after Soleimani was killed, making them look weak.
  • More sanctions have been placed on them by the United States.
  • And they accidentally shoot down a Ukrainian passenger plane with 176 people, mostly Iranian students.

 

Is it a wonder that the Iranian citizens are getting ticked.

Thousands of protesters, mostly students have taken to the streets. Their messages are not to the liking of the Mullahs. They including:

  • Shouting “Death to Islamic Republic dictatorship”
  • Calls for the Ayatollah to resign.
  • Tearing the pictures honoring Soleimani off the walls.
  • Women refuse to wear their hijabs
  • The refusal of Iranians to trample over giant flags of the United States and Israel and booing those who do.

 

The Iranian government did its best to try to get its unhappy citizens to love them again. By shooting them with tear gas and, allegedly, live rounds. Once again, am Iranian protest will lead to the deaths of its citizens by a brutal dictatorship.

President Trump, who openly supports the protesters, released the following Tweet after it was reported that the conflicts had turned violent:

Then, just to add oil to the fire, the lone female Olympic medalist, Kimia Alizadeh, decided to defect to Europe, protesting the treatment of women by the government.

The 2016 bronze medalist in tae kwon do stated that she hopes to find herself in the United States one day. Ouch!

The Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) are struggling to find a new narrative to make Trump the villain in all this. It’s not going well for them.

Nancy Pelosi, this weekend was asked a simple question about whether or not it was a good thing that protesters were calling for the end of the Mullahs in Iran. She tip-toed around the question like a ballerina. Listen:

Of course, she never answered the question. If she said, “yes,” that would go against the appeasement that the Iranian Nuclear Deal the Obama administration still say is working.

If she said, “no,” she would look like she was supporting a terrorist, oppressive, dictatorial regime. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

But noticed she almost said what she was thinking: if Soleimani wouldn’t have been killed, tensions wouldn’t have escalated, Iran wouldn’t have needed air defense and that plane wouldn’t have been shot down.

In other words: Orange Man Bad.

Democrats are struggling to find a narrative that makes this a loss for Trump even if it means defending a tyrannical, terrorist regime.

So, last week, after Qessem Soleimani was killed, Cardi B, the former stripper and prostitute, decided to leave this country for Nigeria because Trump is a bad man. They were willing to take her.

She must have heard that Nigeria has high crime, poverty, oppresses women, high pollution and constant war (in other words, it’s a crap hole) decided to step back from leaving the United States.

Trump has hit Iran again. His new round of sanctions hit Iran on Friday.This will cost the Iranian economy billions of dollars.

Here they are:

  1.  Authorizes the imposition of additional sanctions against any individual owning, operating, trading with, or assisting sectors of the Iranian economy, including construction, manufacturing, textiles, and mining.
  2. There will be 17 specific sanctions against Iran’s largest steel and iron manufacturers, three Seychelles-based entities, and a vessel involved in the transfer of products.
  3. We will be taking action against eight senior Iranian officials who advanced the regime’s destabilizing activity and were involved in Tuesday’s ballistic missile strike. These people include the Ayatollah’s inner circle, the head of Iran’s “brute squad” who was directly responsible for the deaths of Iranian protesters.

 

Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said:

“The goal of our campaign is to deny the regime the resources to conduct its destructive foreign policy. We want Iran to simply behave like a normal nation. We believe the sanctions that we impose today further that strategic objective,” Pompeo continued. “Our campaign is composed of diplomatic, economic components that have deprived the regime of billions in revenue the regime has used to fuel death and destruction across the Middle East and all across the world.”

More News Coming Out of the Iran Conflict

Apparently, the killing of Soleimani was only part of the goal that night.

The U.S. military launched a secret operation to kill a second high-ranking Iranian terrorist last week on the same day that President Donald Trump authorized a drone strike that killed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Forces (IRGC-QF) Commander Qassem Soleimani.

The unsuccessful airstrike in Yemen was aimed at Abdul Reza Shahlai, an official with Iran’s Quds Force, a potent paramilitary organization. He was known as a key financier for Iran’s proxy wars.

This is a big guy and still might be a target for the future.

He, too, was involved in several terrorist attacks that spanned all the way back to the Iraqi war.

President Trump also said that Soleimani had plans to bomb four embassies including the one in Iraq. He did not have the exact moment they were going to attack Soleimani and he believes that is why Democrats are throwing a fit about being notified.

Pompeo said on Friday that he did alert Congress before the attack but he could not give them exact details simply because he did not have any. That’s a little tidbit we never heard before.

Gosh, Do They Ever Stop?!

The media and Democrats, but I repeat myself, are doing a stellar job reporting the news in an unbiased fashion.

On Tuesday, while Iran was bombing dirt in Iraq, a Ukrainian jet crashed.

Iran collected the jet wreckage, which had a debris field of twelve miles, confiscated the black box and wouldn’t release it and would not allow anyone to investigate the crash.

Turns out iPhones and satellites won’t help Iran. Several reported that the jet was hit by an Iranian missile which Iran denied. They said there was an accident but it was not an Iranian missile.

What it looks like now is that this crash was caused by a Russian anti-aircraft missile system that Iran bought that was shot by accident. Oops.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is selling a candle that smells like her vagina at $75 a pop for her lifestyle and wellness company Goop. The name of the candle is none other than, you guessed it, “This Smells Like My Vagina.”

What’s weird is it sold out on a test run.
