A knife-wielding Omani co-pilot repeatedly stabbed his Emirati captain and tried to nosedive a packed Tel Aviv-bound jetliner on Wednesday, sending it plunging 18,000 feet before a band of heroic Israeli passengers smashed into the cockpit and wrestled the attacker to the floor, according to Israeli officials and passenger accounts.
Israel has reportedly classified the incident as an attempted terror attack.
Flydubai Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, took off from Dubai early Wednesday with roughly 174 people on board, including about 27 children, bound for Ben Gurion Airport. About an hour and a half out from Israel, the jet first flashed a general distress signal, code 7700. Minutes later, it switched to 7500, the code for “unlawful interference,” aviation shorthand for a hijacking. Then it vanished from flight-tracking apps.
Israeli Air Force fighter jets roared into the sky, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz huddled in an emergency meeting.
Early reports painted the drama as little more than a cockpit scuffle between two feuding pilots. That story fell apart fast.
According to passenger testimony and Israeli security assessments, the co-pilot pulled a pocketknife and plunged it into the captain again and again. He then allegedly seized the controls and aimed the plane at the ground.
As the co-pilot attacked the captain, the aircraft spun out of control for several terrifying minutes as it dropped like a stone.
That’s when ordinary Israelis became extraordinary.
Crew members and passengers reportedly forced their way through the cockpit door and overpowered the attacker. Two off-duty pilots riding in the back reportedly helped steady the crippled jet.
Democratic women are far more likely to blame men for their problems than conservative women are — and less than a quarter of young Republican men blame their ills on women, a recent survey found.
Young Democratic women were particularly likely to lay the blame for their problems at men, with 66% of 18 to 29-year-olds saying “the challenges that women face in American society” were “a great deal due to the behavior or actions of men,” according to the Survey Center on American Life.
They also said women faced “a lot” of discrimination in America, the poll found.
But far fewer Republican women felt the same way — with just 18% blaming men for their problems in the US.
Those disparities generally shrank as women grew older, with fewer Democrats blaming men and more Republicans blaming them.
Between ages 30 and 49, 54% of Democratic women blamed men for their problems while 33% of Republicans did. And from ages 50 to 64, 47% of Democratic women faulted men and 25% of Republican women did.
The BBC removed an article that suggested the trend of leaving fingernails unpainted could perpetuate “White supremacist” beauty standards after it drew backlash Saturday.
The original article, “How the bare nails trend became a class issue,” explored the beauty trend of women preferring clear and polished “naked” nails over the more stylish nail designs over the past few years.
The BBC reported that while some consider this trend part of the ever-shifting standards in fashion, critics suggested the image said “something about class” and could potentially stigmatize Black, Latino and Asian communities that popularized heavily designed nails.
“That trend really promotes blankness and this kind of sameness and erasure of culture and identity that is so important to [B]lack and [B]rown communities,” beauty journalist Kristina Rodulfo told the BBC.
“They are often called elegant or tasteful, and these are often usually euphemisms that perpetuate [W]hite supremacist standards of beauty.”
American Conservation Coalition CEO Danielle Franz joked, “Bad news for the ladies who thought they were saving $80 on a manicure but were actually dogwhistling.”

Lindsay Clancy’s defense has filed a double jeopardy motion seeking to have the three first-degree murder charges she faces for the strangling deaths of her young children dismissed.
Attorney Martin Weinberg, who also represented Karen Read in her double jeopardy claim, filed a motion for Clancy Monday raising claims under the Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments. Read’s claim failed, but she was later acquitted of all homicide-related charges in her second trial.
Weinberg argued that there was no “manifest necessity” to declare a mistrial on Sept. 4 “given the absence of judicial inquiry regarding repeated reports that one juror was refusing to apply the Court’s instructions regarding reasonable doubt.”
The jury split 11-1, with only the holdout wanting to find her guilty. The others were in favor of finding her not criminally responsible for the children’s deaths after Clancy’s defense claimed she suffered from postpartum psychosis.
Judge William Sullivan previously overruled a defense motion to have the holdout juror dismissed and replaced with an alternate, saying he felt it was not appropriate for him to get involved in the deliberations.
Weinberg’s motion argued that Sullivan’s decision to declare a mistrial before investigating the holdout is improper, alleging that the jury foreperson accused the holdout of making “statements acknowledging doubt but refus[ing] to apply it to the verdict as the law states.”
Weinberg also argued that there was a legal basis for conducting a probe into the holdout before the mistrial was declared. However, Sullivan did not hold one.
On Friday, Clancy’s trial attorney Kevin Reddington called for an investigation into the holdout juror who wanted to find her guilty of murder charges in connection with the strangling deaths of her three young children.
The shoe brand Converse has apologized after social media users accused the company of putting out a “racist” advertisement.
The ad in question, which shows K-pop singer Karina wearing a skirt and holding a pair of Chuck 70 X sneakers, caused controversy as critics accused the company of promoting the KKK and lynching.

“How any American who is remotely educated can look at this horrifying ad & not see a klan hood and the feet of a hanging body…makes me speechless,” one person said, echoing what many others were saying.
“No, you’re not crazy. Yes, the Converse ad is racist. Yes, it looks like a Klan outfit. Yes, it looks like a lynching. And no, ‘it’s just a shoe ad’ is not a defense,” another popular comment said.
The backlash got so bad that Converse released an apology via social media.
“We’re sorry,” the Boston-based company said in the statement, per ABC 7. “We understand why this image is deeply upsetting and recognize that we got this wrong. We removed it from our channels and are working to remove it everywhere it appeared. This should not have happened and we will do better.”
Karina has yet to release a public statement, but followers have also targeted her for participating in the photo shoot, even though she didn’t know what the final ad would look like. Several users have referenced the original, uncropped photo to defend her involvement.
Plenty of people are wondering what all the fuss is about.

The Converse brand launched in 1908 and is best known for the popular Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker. Converse is now owned by Nike.
This incident comes on the heels of Target yanking a so-called racist costume from shelves after followers started freaking out about it.
Photos of the costume, which was called “Kids’ Glows under Blacklight Circus Clown,” showed a young black child modeling the outfit. The costume included a black-and-orange printed bodysuit and hood with an oversized smile and a mini top hat.
The listing and photos led customers to compare the costume to blackface performances from the Jim Crow era.
“We removed an offensive Halloween costume that should never have been part of our assortment,” Target wrote in a statement last month, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “It is no longer for sale. As a company, we got this wrong, and we are deeply sorry.”

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Brigitte Kranendonk said she sat down with her grandmother, Brigitte Stegemann, two days before the procedure took place to make sure she understood what was going to happen.
“I used very frank terms. I said: ‘Do you know that you’re going to die on Friday?’” Kranendonk said her grandmother was in disbelief and cried for 45 minutes upon hearing this. “I’ve made a mistake,” Kranendonk recalled her grandmother saying. “She was bawling. Inconsolable.”
Kranendonk said that in a cognitive test administered to Stegemann, which is designed to determine whether a person seeking MAID is of sound mind to consent, Stegemann “got every question wrong, believing that her two living siblings were dead.
48 hours after Kranendonk spoke with her grandmother, Stegemann was dead. She reportedly died with her hands clasped in prayer and covered in her own blood after the first attempt at connecting the IV, which was allegedly administered by a nurse not wearing gloves, was botched. Stegemann’s death took place on July 10 at The Pearl care home in Cannifton.
Kranendonk alleges that MAID practitioners had taken advantage of her vulnerable grandmother. “She was a vulnerable human being, and they saw an opportunity.” She added, “No one had ever done MAiD at this residential home before: this was their very first MAiD procedure. So I don’t know if they just dropped the ball, because they didn’t know what they were doing.” The care home has maintained that Stegemann had legally consented.
Speaking on that morning, Kranendonk said, “There was a phenomenal amount of blood. She said a nurse had failed to find the correct vein in her grandmother’s right arm for an IV, and switched to her left arm after having “poked her about three or four times with the needle.”
“It is all over my Oma’s arm, it is all over her nightie, soaking through her pillow, all over the sheets, there is so much blood. And throughout all this time, mind you, the nurse is not wearing gloves.”
Kranendonk spoke of a February incident in which her grandmother was fitted with a medical port. Stegemann repeatedly ripped it off, yelling, “I don’t want the death shot!”
Kranendonk had been Stegemann’s caregiver for 12 years and her medical power of attorney for six years. A year and a half before Stegemann’s death, her family made the decision to place her in The Pearl as her cognitive and physical health began to decline. In February of 2026, she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Doctors, however, were uncertain about the amount of time she had left to years, with estimates ranging as high as two years.
Kranendonk spoke with her grandmother about all options for the final stages of her life after the diagnosis, including MAID, and remembered her grandmother saying, “No, I don’t want that.” Kranendonk said her grandmother’s religiosity was a large factor in why she didn’t want it.
She was told on July 3 that the care home was booking a MAiD assessment for her grandmother. Kranendonk had been on a 10-day trip, and earlier on the trip, no one had said anything about a dramatic decline in her grandmother’s health.
“I truly believe that one nurse really saw us as an obstacle,” Kranendonk said. “We were getting in the way of her doing MAID on my grandmother. I think she really, truly believes that MAID is the best for people, and shame on me for trying to stop that.”
Kranendonk said she was present for her grandmother’s second MAID assessment. She said the doctor spoke in “really loose terms, never using the words death or dying.”
“She explains MAID to my grandmother by saying: ‘We’re going to give you medicine, you’re going to feel at peace. And I just want you to know that you won’t have a bowel movement.’ She’s saying it in these strange terms, that aren’t literal.” She added, “My Oma’s just kind of nodding. Her first language is not English, she is 83-years old and severely hearing-impaired.”
Kranendonk said she has yet to see the MAID paperwork that a nurse claimed her grandmother signed. Stegemann got questions wrong on her assessment and was confused in the days leading up to her death. Kranendonk said that she felt cornered and rushed in the days leading up to her grandmother’s death. She said that when the doctor arrived to administer the life-ending medication and asked Stegemann if that was ok, Stegemann did not respond. The doctor proceeded.

An FBI agent repeatedly sought to join the bureau’s Russia investigation involving President Donald Trump, while another pushed for a criminal investigation of Elon Musk over an email asking federal employees what they accomplished at work, according to documents newly released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
The records offer a glimpse into internal FBI discussions surrounding two politically charged matters and prompted Grassley to accuse bureau personnel of political bias, saying the exchanges showed the “Deep State” working against Trump. The documents were released as part of a broader batch involving Crossfire Hurricane and other FBI matters.
Crossfire Hurricane was the FBI’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation into whether members of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign coordinated with Russia’s election interference, though Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not establish a criminal conspiracy between the campaign and the Russian government.
Charlie Kirk’s family has filed a notice of claim — a precursor to a lawsuit — against Utah Valley University, the state and key individuals involved in campus leadership and security decisions, alleging that their failures led to the Turning Point USA founder’s wrongful death.
In one alleged exchange cited in the filing, Turning Point USA organizers told UVU Police Chief Jeffrey Long that UVU students had informed them of rooftop access to the Sorenson Center, a building “pretty close” to where Kirk would be speaking the day he was killed — and directly west of the Losee Center, which is where his alleged killer fired the shot from.
A newly unveiled statue of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was vandalized overnight at TPUSA’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
The statue— which was installed on Thursday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the conservative free-speech advocate’s Sept. 10, 2025, assassination —was covered in red spray paint, AZFamily reported.
A nearby TPUSA billboard also was defaced, with the vandals crossing out the word “Jesus” and writing “Satan” overtop.
“The vandals doing this in the middle of the night only underscores something we’ve sadly come to understand in a whole new way,” TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet told The Gateway Pundit. “Evil never sleeps. But God is in control, and we’ll pray that whoever did this is held accountable and comes to know Him.”
Kirk’s widow, current TPUSA CEO Erika Kirk, struck a defiant note, saying that “Every attempt to tear down what Charlie built makes us root deeper and work even harder.”
No suspects had yet been identified as of Sunday afternoon.
The bronze statue by artist Quintin McCann features several symbols that were meaningful to Kirk in his faith-based activism— including a cross, wedding band, TPUSA hat and now-iconic T-shirt bearing the word “FREEDOM.”
The religious images were defaced, along with an X over Kirk’s face and paint on his neck representing the spot where a bullet entered last year as he was speaking at a college campus in Utah.

Leftist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) are peddling claims of a “modern-day lynching” epidemic, ignoring official police reports and state autopsies that show some of the tragic deaths were actually suicides.
Pressley kick-started the panic on social media, writing that “black folks are being found hanged” and comparing the deaths to Jim Crow-era “strange fruit hanging from trees.”

There’s just one glaring problem: law enforcement, medical examiners, and independent tracking data say it’s simply not true. And the Democratic lawmakers’ posts were hit with brutal community notes on X.
“Most high-profile cases of Black people found hanging in 2025-26 were ruled suicides by medical examiners and police, with no evidence of foul play. One remains a homicide probe. Framing as modern-day lynchings is not supported by official findings,” the X community note reads.
In many cases cited by activists and online rumor mills, authorities have consistently found zero evidence of foul play. Medical examiners, local police, and even the FBI have repeatedly ruled the tragic deaths as self-inflicted suicides rather than hate-fueled homicides.
Following the 2020 death of Robert Fuller in California, investigators confirmed suicide. Subsequent deaths, including a Delta State University student in late 2025 and 2026 incidents in Georgia and Florida, led to the same conclusion.
Following the death of 21-year-old Kyle Bassinga in Georgia, Cobb County Police Chief Dan Ferrell urged the public to stick to facts over social media hysteria, confirming there were “no indicators” anyone else was involved.
To’Nea Nicole Miller was found dead near Gwen Cherry Park in Miami on June 18. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office ruled it an apparent suicide with no evidence of foul play. Jerard “Jay” Jackson was found dead in Michigan on June 30. Michigan State police said it appeared he died by suicide with no indication of foul play.
There was one hanging that was found to be murder:
Tasia Fortune, a black woman, was found dead hanging from a tree last month. Ratliff has been charged with murder in Jackson Mississippi.
The suspect was arrested. His name was Jarques Ratliff, 51. A black man. No motive was announced and other arrests are pending. There is no further information about Ratliff.
Two woke New Jersey Democrats are pushing the state to adopt radical new policy changes — including direct reparations payments to all its black residents — even for those who are not direct descendants of slaves.
“The Truth, Reconciliation, and Repair Act of New Jersey” is cosponsored by Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and state Sen. Angela McKnight, and is seeking to radically transform the state government to compensate for wealth disparities stemming from slavery — which ended in New Jersey 160 years ago.
The bill, first introduced on June 15 which has not yet had a hearing, is informed by a 2025 report from the New Jersey Reparations Council.
“The recent report of the New Jersey Reparations Council tells the often overlooked and largely unknown story of slavery in New Jersey and outlines a clear, compelling, and courageous path forward: the development of meaningful policies that address the racial wealth gap; invest in Black communities; and confrontation of the systemic inequities that still exist in this State,” the proposed bill reads.
That report, entitled “The Nowness of Reparations for Black People in New Jersey” outlines dozens of potential policy changes that the far-left group wants seeded in the Garden State.
The group claimed in the report that New Jersey was “profoundly shaped by its original sin of slavery” and that the report’s conclusions will lead to “bold and transformative policy.”
“These recommendations are designed to help create a new New Jersey where Black people are empowered to finally be free, to be whole and to flourish,” the preface of the report claimed.
The report calls for reparations for all black New Jersey residents, including for those who are not descendants of enslaved black people via “direct payments” aimed and closed an alleged $642,800 household “racial wealth gap.”
The report is filled with even more hairbrained policy prescriptions.
Some of the dozens of “remedies” include creating a Reparations Bureau; restoring the right to vote to incarcerated people; expanding access to free healthcare to adults, children, and “all immigrants regardless of status;” ending cooperation with federal deportations; and establishing a guaranteed income for all residents in the state.
The bill, soon to be debated in New Jersey, fully endorsed the report which is presented as the basis for the legislation.
The bill also demands the state formally apologize for slavery — something which the state government already did in 2008.
New Jersey was the last northern state to end slavery, ratifying the Thirteenth Amendment in 1866, the year after it was added to the US Constitution.
The New Jersey Reparations Council, a private research initiative, was founded by non-profit organizations the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice and progressive Princeton-based Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which has a $13 billion endowment.
Chris Watts, who is serving multiple life sentences for murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters, is reportedly planning to marry a 39-year-old Wisconsin realtor who has been regularly visiting him in prison.
Lizzie Henderson has confirmed she is in a relationship with Watts, who is incarcerated at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin. Relatives told the Daily Mail that the couple has applied to marry through the prison system, while sealed court records show Henderson filed an application to legally change her name in September 2025.
Henderson has also relocated from Ohio to Wisconsin with her mother and has been a frequent visitor to the prison. Prison records obtained by the Daily Mail show she visited Watts 20 times last year and spent Christmas Day with him in 2024. During a visit in August 2025, witness Lisa Johnson told the Daily Mail that she saw Henderson and Watts kissing as their visit ended.
Watts was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without parole after pleading guilty to killing his wife, Shanann Watts, who was 15 weeks pregnant, and their daughters, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, in Colorado in August 2018. Prosecutors said Watts killed Shanann by strangulation before killing their daughters and disposing of their bodies at an oil site where he worked.

It also means 800,000 white and Asian people were discriminated against because a black person needed to be picked for the job.

This is a lot like saying the justice system is racist because 54% of the violent crimes are committed by black people. No one ever discusses whether black people in prison are actually innocent.

As New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani unveils his new city-run grocery stores, his administration is taking steps to prevent some shoppers from taking advantage of the program — by requiring identification.
“So our RFP [Request for Proposal] makes it very clear that this is a program for New Yorkers to be able to put food on the table, not a program for people to be able to make a quick buck through reselling,” said Mamdani, answering a question on how his administration would safeguard the grocery stores.
Jeanny Pak, the interim president and CEO of the NYC Economic Development Corporation, revealed that the mayor’s office would be issuing a form of identification for New Yorkers to be able to shop in the government stores.
“We are looking to make sure that we target New Yorkers whether it be a sort of library card-esque thing and also we manage who’s buying and that it is focused on everyday New Yorkers,” Pak said.
According to proposals, the government grocery store operators will create free access cards that will help ensure that New Yorkers are not abusing the program. Shoppers without a card would not be prohibited from entering the store, but they would not be allowed to make any purchases without the ID.

Conservatives lit up on Thursday night in response to a report claiming that Maine Democratic Senate candidate Troy Jackson, who recently replaced disgraced candidate Graham Platner on the ballot, fathered two children with his second cousin and high school sweetheart.
The report, from Maine Wire editor-in-chief Steve Robinson, found that Jackson shares two adult sons with a woman named Lana Pelletier, his second cousin with whom he shares the same great-grandparents.
The report pointed out that the relationship is not uncommon in northern rural Maine, where Jackson is from, and that it is not illegal, but many on social media reacted with shock and criticism.
“Can’t wait for Democrats to defend cousin marriage!,” Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., posted on X.
A transitioning son accused of killing his mother inside a Laguna Beach home bludgeoned her to death with a hammer — with the alleged murderer’s grandmother discovering the bloody aftermath, authorities said.
Police responded to the rental home of Safford James Wolfson, 36, around 11 a.m. on July 20 after Wolfson’s grandma entered the residence and found blood-spattered floors and smashed furniture, prosecutors revealed.
Investigators said Wolfson’s grandmother first found Wolfson lying on the floor covered in blood before discovering the body of Angela Caprioli, 61, in a bedroom with severe blunt-force injuries to her head and face.
Wolfson’s grandmother called 911, with cops and medics arriving and taking Wolfson to the hospital with self-inflicted injuries to his neck.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said Wolfson faces murder charges as well as a felony enhancement for using a deadly weapon.

He said the house where the alleged slaying occurred has been a longstanding eyesore in the neighborhood due to vegetation overgrowth. Police have frequently been called to the address over the years, he added.

Wolfson’s strnge online presence drew attention as investigators probed the alleged homicide.
An X account bearing Wolfson’s name says the owner is a “trans girl looking for fun in LA,” and a TikTok account associated with the suspect includes several videos showing Wolfson dancing in dresses, miniskirts, crop tops and underwear.
Wolfson’s LinkedIn profile says he co-founded Kevin’s House LLC, a Southern California dual-diagnosis sober living and assisted adult care facility that provides services for people facing mental health challenges.
Caprioli described herself as the founder of Kevin’s House on her Facebook profile. Her account features a post showing her posing with Wolfson as the two smile together.
A liberal-led federal appeals court handed President Donald Trump two immigration victories Wednesday, reversing separate district court orders that had delayed the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for migrants from South Sudan and Ethiopia.
The judgments from the First Circuit Court of Appeals come after U.S. District Judges Brian Murphy and Patti Saris issued back-to-back orders temporarily blocking the Trump administration’s termination of TPS for Ethiopia and South Sudan, respectively, late last week. The rulings drew sharp criticism from legal experts and Trump administration officials, who called the judges “rogue” and argued their decisions defied the Supreme Court.
The three-judge First Circuit panel consisted of Judges Julie Rikelman and Seth Aframe, both appointed by President Joe Biden, and Judge Joshua Dunlap, who was appointed by President Donald Trump.
In nearly identical rulings, the majority liberal panel found that the lower court judges’ orders conflicted with the Supreme Court’s decision in Mullin v. Doe, which held that courts cannot block TPS terminations based on non-constitutional claims.
“Mullin held that ‘the TPS statute’s judicial-review bar applies to all non-constitutional claims’ challenging the Secretary of Homeland Security’s determination with respect to the termination of a TPS designation,” the judges wrote.
Iowa Solicitor General Eric Wessan told Fox News Digital that the First Circuit correctly applied the precedent established by the Supreme Court.

Court papers reviewed by Page Six show the camp alleges the company failed to honor its agreements with the camp, and didn’t return the money after the flights fell through.

The FBI and its law enforcement partners disrupted an alleged plot targeting this weekend’s UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C., officials told Fox News Digital.
Five people were in custody as of Monday, and investigators identified 23 people as part of a potential network of plotters. The alleged plan involved using explosive-laden drones to hit buildings near the event, force a mass evacuation and steer crowds toward a pre-staged sniper team, officials said.
A “second wave” was then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate, according to officials.
The FBI first learned of the threat on June 10 and worked with partners to secure probable cause for an arrest in Cincinnati, where one suspect was taken into custody.

Investigators later uncovered Signal chats in which multiple people allegedly discussed attacking the UFC event. An initial review of one suspect’s iPhone identified at least 23 Signal users discussing pre-operational activity, officials said.
Some of those involved allegedly planned to travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia, on June 12 or 13 to prepare for the attack.
One suspect allegedly told investigators the goal was to target “capitalist elites,” “billionaires” or politicians who received donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
The investigation stretched across at least 12 FBI field offices.
DoorDash has officially ended a policy that automatically blocked certain nonprofits from its employee giving program after criticism from investors and advocacy groups.
According to a report by The Daily Signal, DoorDash has instructed its workplace giving platform, Deed, to stop using the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “hate map” as a default filter for charitable organizations participating in the program.
The change means employees will no longer be automatically prevented from donating to nonprofits that have been designated by the SPLC as hate groups through DoorDash’s charitable giving system.
The policy drew scrutiny from conservative organizations that argued the SPLC’s classifications have expanded beyond extremist groups like the KKK to include mainstream conservative and religious organizations such as Turning Point USA and PragerU. Critics claimed the practice limited employees’ charitable giving options.
The Department of Justice has launched multiple investigations related to California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, including a probe dating back to the Biden administration, The Daily Wire has learned.
The revelation comes just hours after Newsom accused President Donald Trump of directing the DOJ to investigate him and his wife.
In a nearly five-minute video statement, Newsom said federal agents have knocked on the doors of his family, friends, and former employees.

A Somali referee selected to officiate at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been barred from entering the United States after federal authorities discovered information linking him to suspected members of terrorist organizations.
Omar Artan, Somalia’s only referee appointed to the tournament, was denied admission after arriving at Miami International Airport from Istanbul on Saturday. According to a Trump administration official who spoke to Fox News, Customs and Border Protection officers uncovered “derogatory” information during an inspection that rendered Artan inadmissible under federal immigration law.
In a statement provided to Fox News, the administration said, “This individual was seeking admission to the United States. Upon further inspection by CBP, derogatory information, including association with suspected members of terror organizations, was discovered making the traveler ineligible for admission to the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). The traveler was refused admission and given immigration forms that provide the section of law used to complete an expedited removal under 8235 of the INA. The decision effectively ends Artan’s participation in the World Cup, which is being hosted in part by the United States. DeCarlos Brown Jr, the man who was charged with stabbing Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska to death on the Charlotte light rail, has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to federal prosecutors.
Brown, 34, appeared in federal court on Tuesday morning, where federal Judge Kenneth Bell found ruled that Brown did not understand the proceedings, and could not stand trial. During the hearing, Brown shouted about having “material in his body” and said that he was having a “body emergency” during the brief hearing at the courthouse, per Queens City News.
The judge, as the ruling came down, said, “[I] hope that what happens here will be accurately recorded by professional press and social media.” Brown was evaluated at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago through the Bureau of Prison.
After shouting during the hearing, he was escorted out of the room. He shouted more at the judge and asked if the judge had gotten a letter from his mother. The killer will now get medication as well as treatment in an effort to restore his competency for up to four months.
If Brown is not found to be competent at that point, he may be held in federal custody under federal commitment laws. Another hearing may determine is he has to be forcibly medicated. The prosecutors in the case did not present any evidence in the 15-minutes hearing on Tuesday.
“The court found that his prognosis is ‘good’ to be made competent and set a four-month deadline to have that process go forward,” US Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina Russ Ferguson said. “The court ordered that he seek treatment and medication.”

A top Trump agency is cutting off funding to the Los Angeles agency responsible for coordinating billions in homelessness spending after accusing it of “obvious fraud,” “wanton mismanagement” and repeated failures to safeguard taxpayer dollars, Fox News Digital has learned.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which is a member of the White House fraud task force led by Vice President JD Vance, is immediately suspending the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s (LAHSA) federal funding while HUD’s inspector general investigates potential offenses by the agency and its leadership, according to a letter sent to LAHSA’s board chair Wendy Greuel and its CEO Gita O’Neill, which was obtained and reviewed by Fox News Digital.
The letter detailed conflicts of interest, financial mismanagement, fraud, lack of oversight, and more from the homelessness agency, which has faced efforts by the city and county to take it over.
The move puts one of the country’s biggest homelessness bureaucracies under direct federal scrutiny after years of criticism that billions have gone into homelessness programs in Los Angeles while the crisis remains entrenched on the streets. LAHSA receives funding at the city, county, state and federal level, with the group getting nearly $1 billion from just the federal government since 2021, according to HUD.

U.S. forces carried out a new round of airstrikes on Iranian targets along the country’s southern coast and near the Strait of Hormuz late Tuesday/early Wednesday, framed by Washington as “retaliatory” and “self‑defense” strikes after Iran shot down a U.S. military helicopter earlier this week.
What actually happened
U.S. Central Command says American aircraft and missiles struck multiple Iranian military targets, including radar and air‑defense installations and other coastal sites that Washington argues were being used to threaten U.S. forces and shipping near the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest wave of strikes began around 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, following the downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter over or near the Strait; both crew members were recovered alive by a U.S. sea drone according to U.S. officials.
U.S. officials describe the operation as a “measured retaliation” intended to deter further Iranian attacks while avoiding a full‑scale regional war, emphasizing that the targets were strictly military.

President Donald Trump shared previously unreported details about a downed U.S. Army Apache helicopter on Wednesday, including how the two pilots survived after an Iranian drone lodged in between them as they were flying.
Trump described the incident and rescue mission in an exclusive call with Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst. The U.S. Army Apache helicopter was shot down earlier this week when, according to the president, an Iranian drone struck the helicopter but failed to detonate, lodging itself between the two pilots as they flew at low altitude.
Flying a gunship with a live, burning drone embedded in the cockpit, the pilots faced the possibility of explosion at any moment. Trump said the cockpit filled with heat and fire before the crew managed to ditch the aircraft into the sea. The two pilots were subsequently rescued — in what Trump described as the first-ever rescue of its kind — by an unmanned sea drone.
After the Iranian drone attack, Trump warned Wednesday that he is nearing a decision to order strikes on Iranian power plants and bridges, signaling a sharp escalation in the ongoing military confrontation with Tehran amid stalled nuclear negotiations.
The drone boat was the Saronic Corsair, a 24-foot unmanned surface vessel used by the U.S. Navy’s Task Force 59. It was the first U.S. rescue carried out with an autonomous surface vessel, according to military reporting.
The Corsair was described as looking like a speedboat and was used to retrieve the Apache crew before they were lifted by helicopter to complete the rescue.
A Texas jury convicted 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony of murder and sentenced him to 35 years for stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf once in the chest during a rain-soaked high school track meet on April 2, 2025, at David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco. Witnesses said Anthony, from Centennial High School, entered the rival Prosper High tent, warned others after a shove, then pulled a knife; prosecutors rejected his self-defense claim after three hours of deliberation. Metcalf’s parents delivered emotional statements, with his father stressing right and wrong over race, while the case sparked national debates on self-defense, youth violence, and racial dynamics, including unverified fundraising claims and celebrity comments.

A Sudanese man has been charged with attempted murder after a ‘knife attack’ in Belfast.
The 30-year-old, who has not yet been named by police, will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He has also been charged with possession of an article with blade or point in a public place and making threats to kill.
PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said the suspect is believed to have travelled from Sudan to Paris, and then from Paris to Dublin before taking a bus to Belfast in February 2023 – taking advantage of the Common Travel Area.
There, he immediately claimed asylum, before he was given leave to remain in the UK in September 2023, lasting for five years.
The victim of the attack, a man aged in his 40s, remains in a serious condition in hospital receiving treatment for serious eye, face and back wounds.
Social media footage shows a man standing astride a bloodied victim holding a knife to his throat and his fist in the air.
Heroic bystanders then intervene, with one man hitting the suspect with a hurling stick. Police said a kitchen knife was recovered from the scene on Kinnaird Avenue, in the north of Belfast. They do not believe the attack was terror related.
Riots are happening in New Jersey. Of course, it’s all Trump’s fault.

Vickrum Digwa, 23, has been jailed for at least 21 years for the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak in Southampton in December.
Verdict – 28 May 2026 – The jury rejects self‑defence and finds Vickrum Digwa guilty of murder and of carrying a knife in public. His mother Kiran Kaur is found guilty of assisting an offender for removing and concealing the knife.
Sentencing dates set – The judge sets sentencing for Digwa on 1 June 2026, and for Kaur on 17 July 2026, both at Southampton Crown Court.

Some Black New Yorkers are demanding cash reparations from the government as state officials consider some form of compensation for slavery or other past racial injustices.
“We need $800,000 for each foundation of Black Americans. That’s simple,” Aubrey Muhammud told Fox News Digital. “That’s — in New York — that’s about the cost of living that’ll get you a home or a small business or for you to recover from any financial duress.”
The New York State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies held a public hearing last Saturday. The hearing followed up on when Gov. Kathy Hochulin 2023 signed a bill for a “community commission to study the history of slavery in New York state” to examine “various forms of reparations.”
The Empire State joins several other states and local municipalities looking to issue reparations in some form, compensating Black residents for slavery or other instances of racial injustice. A Chicago suburb — Evanston, Illinois — went as far as paying $25,000 in cash to Black residents to address past racial housing discrimination through its program.
As the state considers reparations to Black Americans or any other group in some form, some advocates of reparations spoke up about the importance of the identity of foundational Black Americans to be recognized.
The public hearing allowed residents to share their experiences for the commission to gather input for their effort to examine past discriminatory policies and slavery in the United States.
A non-English speaking bus driver killed five people and injured 44 after crashing into stopped traffic along I-95 in Virginia early Friday morning.
The driver, Jing S. Dong, is a Chinese native with U.S. citizenship who received a commercial driver’s license from New York in 2024, according to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
“Unacceptable. This is exactly why we are holding states accountable, enforcing the rules of the road, and cracking down on drivers who can’t speak English,” Duffy wrote on X. “If you can’t be properly trained, read our road signs, or communicate with law enforcement, you have no business driving a bus.”
Dong was allegedly driving the motor coach from New York City to Charlotte, North Carolina, when he failed to stop for slowing traffic and rammed into a Chevrolet Suburban, causing a chain reaction of at least six vehicles, the New York Post reported.
The driver of the Suburban, a 25-year-old woman from Massachusetts, was killed. After the bus slammed into it, the Suburban hit an Acura occupied by a family of four, killing 45-year-old Dmitri Doncev, his 44-year-old wife Ecaterina, their 13-year-old daughter, and 7-year-old son. The young family’s vehicle caught on fire after the collision, the Post reported.
A Washington Nationals executive was fired this week after he claimed on a hidden-camera video that an outspoken Christian pitcher was excluded from some of the team’s promotional content because of his religious views.
The Nationals fired Sean Hudson, its director of community relations, after undercover journalist James O’Keefe posted a video showing Hudson admit to blacklisting pitcher Trevor Williams from the team’s social media content.
“One of our pitchers, Trevor Williams, he is very Catholic,” Hudson said on the hidden camera video.
The former Nationals executive then provided an example of why he avoided featuring Williams for the team’s promotional content.
“The Dodgers had a group out to the stadium who were drag queens who sometimes dressed up as nuns. He went on social media [and wrote], ‘This is wrong. This is my religion. You all are mocking it.’ Because of that, we don’t use him on social [media],” Hudson said.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were condemned by Christians across the country, including multiple MLB players, for inviting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a drag queen group that mocks Jesus Christ and Christians, to perform at one of their games in 2023.
After Hudson was canned, Washington Nationals President of Business Operations Jason Sinnarajah went on live TV to apologize to Williams and the team’s Christian fans for Hudson’s remarks. He also said Hudson’s comments were false and “don’t reflect us as an organization, our values, who we are.”
