RACIST!

Episode 1198 – PLEASE, SEND SOMEONE TO JAIL!

Donald Trump needs to throw some of the traitors within our government into prison. I have one example.

The Los Angeles City Council has decided to decriminalize crime which will lead to more car accidents and traffic deaths.

And Kathy Hochul bends to the economic desires of Zohran Mamdani…sort of.

She’s a Traitor

According to the New York Post:

A Democratic lawmaker is drawing backlash after saying she spoke with foreign ambassadors about getting oil to Cuba despite US sanctions, defending the outreach as “literally our right and responsibility.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., made the remarks during a recent Seattle briefing following a congressional delegation trip to Cuba, where she discussed the island’s worsening fuel shortages and US policy toward the communist regime.

“I was in conversations with the ambassadors from Mexico and some other places … trying to figure out how to get oil there,” Jayapal said during the briefing, calling the situation on the island “a crisis beyond imagination.”

Jayapal said the event was part of a broader briefing on the humanitarian situation in Cuba following her recent visit.

No Crime, No Criminals

According to the Post Millennial:

The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously this week to ban many types of traffic stops, placing new restrictions on “pretextual” stops to limit when police officers can pull drivers over for minor violations unless there is an immediate public safety concern.

According to The New York Post, the 14-0 vote by the Los Angeles City Council marks the latest effort by progressive lawmakers to reduce police-initiated encounters following years of pressure from criminal justice reform activists after the 2020 George Floyd riots.

Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, who has pushed the proposal alongside former Councilman Mike Bonin since 2020, described the effort as part of a broader shift in policing policy. “This is a big down payment,” Harris-Dawson said, calling armed responses to minor traffic violations “barbaric” and “wholly uncivilized.”

Under the new framework, officers would face tighter limits on conducting traffic stops for low-level violations. The policy also formally restricts consent searches unless officers have a separate legal justification, such as probable cause or a warrant. Officers would additionally be required to state the reason for a stop on body camera footage before questioning begins and document any additional suspicion that develops during the encounter.

The proposal now heads to the Board of Police Commissioners.

I Guess If You Cry Enough…

According to the Post Millennial:

New York Governor Kathy Hochul unveiled the state’s $268 billion 2027 budget on Thursday morning, including $28 billion for socialist Zohran Mamdani‘s New York City, far from what is needed to close the city’s budget gap. This comes after Mamdani pressured Hochul to raise taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers and on corporations. However, she did not mention any tax increases aside for a proposed “pied-à-terre tax” on second homes in the city to raise tax revenue as the Big Apple is facing a $10 billion shortfall in 2027.

“To help out New York City, we’re finalizing the details of a pied-à-terre tax to help close the city’s budget cap without eroding its tax base or burdening hard-working New Yorkers. And I’ll have more to say on that soon, but I want to be very clear, my commitment to New York City has been and always will be ironclad. This budget already includes $28 billion in total aid for the city,” Hochul said.

She noted that the total funding also includes a $9 billion increase from when she took office, but it is only a $2.2 billion increase since the FY 2026 budget was proposed, giving the Big Apple $25.8 billion. The pied-à-terre tax is only expected to raise around $320 million in tax revenue, far from the needed $5.4 billion to close the budget gap in 2026, per the New York Post. The New York City comptroller’s office expects that the $5.4 budget gap will balloon to $10.4 billion in 2027 unless more is done.

Hochul also took aim at the Trump administration, saying that the administration “gutted federal funds that we’ve learned to rely on,” which included $10 billion. She also touted how she has pushed sanctuary city policies, which bar local police from working with ICE to detain illegal immigrants.

The delayed budget, originally due on April 1, comes after Mamdani has been pressuring Hochul and begging for Albany to send them more funding as the Big Apple is facing a $5.4 billion budget gap. Ahead of Hochul unveiling the budget, state lawmakers were working to adjust pension funds and were hashing out up until Wednesday evening. The governor has been adamant that Mamdani needs to shore up some funds in the city in order to save his ever-growing $127 billion budget.

Not Enough

According to California Post:

A former medical staffer at a now-shuttered federal women’s prison in California has been sentenced, marking the final criminal case tied to what authorities describe as the largest sexual abuse scandal ever uncovered inside a US federal prison system.

US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers on Friday ordered Jeffrey Wilson, 32, of Eureka, to serve 4.3 years behind bars after he admitted to sexually abusing an incarcerated woman at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Fox’s KTVU reported.

The facility, located east of Oakland, once widely known among inmates as a “rape club,” was closed in 2024 following years of misconduct allegations involving staff.

Wilson’s sentencing brings closure to the criminal prosecutions involving 10 former employees from FCI Dublin accused of sex crimes against inmates.

Just Leave!

According to the Post Millennial:

Just weeks before Memorial Day and amid the United States’ 250th anniversary year, a city council member in Lynnwood, Washington, launched into a tirade against the American flag, declaring that the Pride flag is far more relatable to her and suggesting the 27 US flags at Wilcox Park should be replaced.

According to the Lynnwood Times, Councilwoman Isabel Mata made the remarks during the May 4 City Council meeting while discussing the city’s flag display policies. “To me, a pride flag is way more relatable than an American flag. I would not raise an American flag at my house because I just, I wouldn’t. I wasn’t even born here. But I would raise a pride flag,” Mata said.

A couple of things:

  • They are raising the American flag for Memorial Day. That celebrates those who gave their lives for this country.
  • The pride flag represents nothing. People did not die for gay people.
  • There are good things in other cultures, but our culture is the most important and best. Period!
  • Yes, the United States had a troubled history. All countries on the face of the Earth have the same troubled history and most have a worse history!

They’re Still Fighting

According to Reduxx:

A trans-identified male freshman from an elite school in California won the Women’s Varsity 400-meter race at the Prep League Championship Finals last week, defeating a number of more experienced female athletes to the title, including his own sister.

Paul Haaga, also known as “Lina,” won the girls’ final with a time of 59.45 seconds. His older sister, Sienna, finished second with 60.03 seconds.

Haaga attends the elite Polytechnic School in Pasadena, where tuition fees can reach $48,000 or more per year, while his sister attends the neighboring Flintridge Preparatory School. Haaga also helped his team take gold in the Women’s Varsity 4 x 400 relay to clinch first place by just under a second, once again pushing his sister into second place.

Despite only being a 14-year-old freshman, Haaga has already established himself as a strong competitor within multiple girls’ athletic disciplines.

What IS Wrong With People

According to the New York Post:

A heartless Florida woman killed 11 baby ducks by driving her car over the helpless brood “multiple times” because she was ticked off that they messed up her yard, according to police.

Beverly Sasberry, 64, was hit with 11 counts of felony animal cruelty for the shocking April 25 incident outside her home in Jacksonville, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

The department said a pair of passersby saw Sasberry behind the wheel of her red Honda Accord as she mowed down the ducklings and turned “her vehicle around multiple times to hit them.”

Later in the article:

The cruel incident comes just over three months after shocking surveillance video footage captured youngsters stomping and killing a duck in Fort Lauderdale.

The clip, which came from a neighbor’s Ring camera, was so disturbing that cops pulled it from the police department’s online announcement of a $5,000 reward for information on the young culprit.

In another gruesome animal cruelty case, Craig Vogt, 61, was arrested by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in Florida in September for allegedly killing, cooking and eating two of his pet peacocks.

According to police records, Vogt was angry that his neighbor kept feeding the birds so he killed them in a twisted act of revenge — and put a letter in the neighbor’s mailbox to tell him what he had done.

This Is Not the Solution

According to the California Post:

A newly launched Christian cell-phone network is aiming to be the first in the US to block pornography and LGBT content.

“We are going to create — and we think we have every right to do so — an environment that is Jesus-centric, that is void of pornography, void of LGBT, void of trans,” said Radiant Mobile’s founder, Paul Fisher, to the MIT Technology Review.

The phone network, which is scheduled to launch Tuesday, does not own any cell towers but rather buys bandwidth from T-Mobile, similar to President Trump’s “Trump Mobile” launched last year.

It uses the Israeli cybersecurity firm Allot to sort website domains into more than 100 content categories, blocking all pornographic content.

The company also has a default-on filter targeting “sexuality” content, aiming to remove gender-related and LGBT material from every device on the plan.

Fisher — who previously worked as an agent for supermodels such as Naomi Campbell — highlighted how the technology can even block specific sections of websites, such as a page on the Yale University site dedicated to LGBT issues.

You’ve Got to be Kidding

According to the California Post:

California’s soaring cost for its dragged-out high-speed rail construction was inflated by another recent political embarrassment for the state: labor icon Cesar Chavez.

Calls are growing for California’s high-speed rail to be abandoned completely after revelations this week that the estimated cost of completing the fantasy train project has ballooned to a staggering $231 billion.

We’ve now learned about a billion dollars of that cost stems from a reroute around the resting place of Chavez and his wife at the Cesar E. Chavez National Monument in Keene — and rail regulators are now open to reconsidering, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Board directors at the High-Speed Rail Authority needed to route the train through the Tehachapi Mountains, which separates the San Joaquin Valley from the Mojave desert. Standing in the way was the national monument, a 187-acre compound and former headquarters of the United Farm Workers.

The Authority was under pressure to not disturb Chavez’s gravesite, as he was a revered figure for California Democrats.

Representatives for the Chavez center had argued that plans to expand tracks already near the memorial would be noisy and disrupt visitors. In response, the plan was altered to moved the track three-quarters of a mile away from the monument boundary, becoming a curve that would have to go through roads and tunnels.

That would cost $815 million, officials estimated in 2020 — now around $1 billion with inflation.

Episode 1197 – I Remember When…

Remember when every cop had to wear a body cam because of the “epidemic” of “police brutality”? We actually saw what happened during these police incidents. Well, the Left is changing their minds.

California has a solution to the crisis that involves their high speed train project.

And why do activist judges keep letting illegal aliens murders out of jail?

Do You Remember…?

According to Fox News:

Seattle’s socialist mayor Katie Wilson is facing fierce blowback on social media after a 77-year-old man was seen on video being beaten by two individuals in a crime that was captured by closed-circuit television cameras, a tool that Wilson has denounced in the past as something that makes the community feel unsafe and “vulnerable.”

The elderly man was walking down the street in downtown Seattle last month when two men walking by him stopped, without any provocation, shoved him to the ground and beat him, KOMO News reported

Ahmed Abdullahi Osman, 29, was later arrested and charged with second-degree assault, and police are looking for the second suspect. Osman was reportedly booked into jail the night of the assault and then released back onto the streets before a bail hearing.

Some things:

  • Trump is not going to take over the cameras.
  • You know, Trump is not going to be in office for long.
  • Do you remember when the Left demanded that police all have body cams?
  • Now we actually see what the police have to go through on a daily basis?
  • Now there’s outrage because a police shooting will have body cam footage released immediately and we know the shooting was justified.
  • Now, cameras are racist.
  • I also want to ask, why are cameras racist? Why do they alienate the immigrants? Could it be because they capture the crimes of minorities and immigrants and maybe not all bad things happen because of white people?
  • The stats don’t lie, folks. Immigrants and minorities commit most of the crimes in the United States. We are seeing it right now.

Don’t Fix Anything

According to the New York Post:

Critics of California’s long-overdue high-speed rail project are aghast after statehouse Democrats pushed through legislation that would give the rail auditor the power to shield its reports from the public.

The bill, which passed the California Assembly on Monday and sits at the state Senate, lets the Inspector General do so if publication “would pose a substantial and articulable risk to the project or to state operations if publicly disclosed.”

The role of the Inspector General has gained even more prominence in light of new estimates that the total cost of the train has ballooned to $231 billion. The fantasy project, which broke ground in 2015, is far from finished.

Letting the Inspector General hide details, critics say, is the wrong move.

Insight is needed now more than ever after analysts raised red flags with the High-Speed Rail Authority’s new business plan.  A state analysts’ report warned of “several issues”, such as uncertain funding assumptions and shifting the project’s scope in violation of current state law.

If details are determined confidential, the bill would have the auditor only deliver the report to state officials overseeing the project.

The bill’s author, Assemblymember Lori Wilson (D), dismissed the criticism and said the bill actually improves transparency.

“Concerns were initially raised that this bill would keep information confidential. In fact, this bill does the exact opposite by requiring the inspector general to make its reports public, which is not required under current law,” she said Monday on the Assembly floor.

Why Does This Keep Happening?

According to the Daily Wire:

A federal judge appointed by former President Joe Biden cut an illegal immigrant murder suspect loose, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Bryan Rafael Gomez is wanted in his home country of the Dominican Republic for murder, DHS said Thursday. Despite having an active warrant, U.S. District Court Judge Melissa R. DuBose ordered Gomez’s release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention on Tuesday.

Gomez crossed the border illegally near Lukeville, Arizona, in 2022, DHS said. Border Patrol agents apprehended him at the time and subsequently released him into the country.

The Coordination of the Courts of Instruction of the National District of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, issued a criminal arrest warrant for Gomez for homicide on Jan. 24, 2023, according to DHS.

Officers with the Worcester Police Department arrested Gomez on April 4, 2026, for assault and battery, according to DHS. Local authorities honored an ICE detainer, handing Gomez over to federal immigration agents after he was released on $500 bail.

Gomez had filed a habeas petition, which is a legal challenge to his detention, and DuBose allowed for his release on “minimal release conditions,” according to Fox News.

Why Not?

According to the Post Millennial:

The Department of Justice announced on Friday that it has readopted firing squads as a means to carry out federal death sentences. The DOJ said that the move was part of an effort to “restore its solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences.”

press release from the department stated, “Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration, expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases. These steps are critical to deterring the most barbaric crimes, delivering justice for victims, and providing long-overdue closure to surviving loved ones.”

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement, “The prior administration failed in its duty to protect the American people by refusing to pursue and carry out the ultimate punishment against the most dangerous criminals, including terrorists, child murderers, and cop killers. Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Justice is once again enforcing the law and standing with victims.”

The announcement came alongside the release of a report titled “Restoring and Strengthening the Federal Death Penalty.” In the report, Blanche said that “despite federal prosecutors consistently seeking and defending capital sentences under the leadership of both political parties, the Department had not prioritized implementing them.”

The report stated that under the Biden administration, then Attorney General Merrick Garland “imposed a moratorium on federal executions, directed prosecutors not to seek death sentences, and dismantled the federal government’s capital punishment apparatus. He also recommended that President Biden commute the lawful death sentences of thirty-seven convicted murderers, and he did so without fully considering the views of the victims’ families, the communities that endured these crimes, or the prosecutors who tried these cases. These actions inflicted untold damage on countless lives and, ultimately, on the public’s confidence in the rule of law itself.”

Episode 1190 – Digging Deep to Find Racism!

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Talks with Iran may begin again this week.

The Donald Trump and Pope Leo are having a tiff. I have some thoughts.

And have you mowed your lawn this week? If you did, you are a racist!

News

Here is some news:

  • Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran could restart as soon as Thursday this week after President Donald Trump imposed a blockade on Iranian ports.
  • A fragile truce between Tehran and Washington remains in place as leaders attempt to negotiate a wider deal.
  • I do have some comments about the Pope Leo/Donald Trump kurfuffle.
  • President Joe Biden’s administration relied on information gathered from radical pro-abortion groups to track, prosecute, and snoop on peaceful pro-life protesters, shocking emails released Tuesday by the Trump administration show.

Do Any of These Guys Take Any Personal Responsibility?

According to the Daily Wire:

Maine Democrat Graham Platner, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Maine, faced backlash for his Nazi-symbol tattoo and several nasty social media posts — and during a recent interview, he attributed both on the “culture” that he was exposed to while serving in the United States military.

Platner, who served both in the Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, got the tattoo covered up after the initial public outcry, appeared on “The Takeout with Major Garrett” — and he argued that the “hyper-masculine” culture in the infantry had “colored” his perspective in the past.

So military culture, hyper-masculinity (toxic masculinity), and hyper-violence caused him to be a racist and get a Nazi tattoo. Hmm, OK.

Also, he admits that he’s a racist. And he decided not to be a racist and get rid of that tattoo after he decided to run for the Senate.

Makes absolute sense to me. Let’s vote for him.

By the way, he wouldn’t be the first Democrat that was a racist.

Dumbass of the Day

According to the Post Millennial:

A woke TikTok user is facing widespread backlash online after posting a video arguing that maintaining a well-kept lawn is tied to racism.

The user, @softchaoschannel, shared a video on Monday on TikTok, saying, “I can’t stop thinking about how grass lawns are racist and like, based in white supremacy.”

Um, so keeping a nice lawn is white supremacy? Does that mean blacks and other people of color don’t like nice lawn (I know that’s not true)?

Why is a well-kept lawn racist? Is it because blacks are incapable to keep lawn well manicured?

Probably. The Left already tells us blacks can’t be on time, can’t work hard, can’t get IDs, can’t get into colleges and so forth.

This is the bigotry of low expectations. This is racism. This is the true white supremacy. All infront of her nice house and, probably, well-manacured lawn.

Episode 1172 – Rest in Peace, Lou!

Boots may be on the ground in Iran, but not American boots.

A horrible story comes out of Miami and there are some big questions we should ask.

And football loses one of its greatest coaches.

News

Here is some news:

  • Legendary Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz has died at the age of 89, the university announced on Wednesday.
    • Holtz was considered one of the most influential coaches in college football history, winning 249 games as a collegiate head coach. He began his coaching career at William & Mary in 1969 and spent one season in the NFL before returning to college football.
    • One hundred of those wins happened at Notre Dame, where he served as head coach from 1986 until 1996.
    • Holtz was also a close friend and longtime supporter of Donald Trump. The president honored Holtz with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in December of 2020 for his contributions to the nation.
  • The Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Wednesday that federal appeals courts must defer to immigration judges when reviewing asylum decisions.
    • The court’s ruling, written by Biden-appointed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, stated that immigration laws require federal courts to use a “substantial-evidence standard” when reviewing immigration judges’ decisions regarding whether an asylum seeker would face “persecution” if deported from the country.
    • Jackson noted that courts must meet a high bar before overturning an immigration judge’s findings. “the agency’s determination whether a given set of undisputed facts rises to the level of persecution under §1101(a)(42)(A) is generally ‘conclusive unless any reasonable adjudicator would be compelled to conclude to the contrary.’”
  • The Senate voted against a resolution that would have required President Donald Trump to seek congressional approval before taking further military action in Iran.
  • Boot are on the ground in Iran. The Kurds, a group located in the western portion of Iran and have been contained by the IGRC have joined the fight.
  • Britain and France may have to join the fight in Iran because of an attack of a British base in Cyprus and attacking French bases.

The Padres Have Enough Problems

According to the New York Post:

Once California tax laws entered the equation, two was greater than three for Merrill Kelly.

The math was done by the veteran pitcher at some point this offseason, when he was a free agent deciding between two options for his MLB future.

No. 1 was a two-year, $40 million contract with the Diamondbacks. No. 2, at least on paper, seemed better.

It was a three-year, fully guaranteed deal with the Padres that appeared to have a similar average annual value.

Kelly, though, chose the former — and during a sitdown interview with Foul Territory’s Scott Braun and A.J. Pierzynski this week, he explained the decision was almost entirely due to the Golden State’s tax system.

“I don’t think it’s any secret on how much money you get taken out of your pocket when you go to California,” the 37-year-old right-hander said.

There were, of course, other factors that pulled Kelly toward Arizona. He went to high school at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale and played collegiately at Arizona State.

And, the father of two young kids has called the Phoenix area home while logging innings for the Snakes in each of the past seven seasons.

“Coming back here,” he admitted, “it was always the priority.”

But after Pierzynski jokingly told him he was “the first person ever that’s been offered a bunch of money to go live in San Diego and said no,” Kelly made it crystal clear that giving away a significant portion of his income to a state government was ultimately a dealbreaker for him.

“I love San Diego,” Kelly said. “It’s just, like I said, they take too much money out of my pocket, man. The taxes over there are a different level.

What A Shock

According to the New York Post:

The number of properties sold in California over the past three years was 24% lower than the same time period before the Great Recession, sparking fears of a statewide crash.

The Golden State had 954,423 property sales in 2023-25, down from 1.25 million in 2007-2009, according to figures from real estate data provider Attom.

That means homebuying in California was 24% slower over the past three years than it was in the run-up to the apocalyptic housing crash that triggered the Great Recession.

California’s sales pace over the past three years is down 31% compared to the previous 18 years, while the nationwide drop was 6%.

But while the statewide median property price plummeted 55% — from nearly $600,000 in 2007 to roughly $275,000 in 2009 — prices have actually increased over the past three years, the Orange County Register’s business columnist Jon Lansner reported.

California’s median home price rose 9% from December 2022 to December 2025, reaching $710,000, just 5% below its all-time high.

When the subprime mortgage market collapsed, many homeowners couldn’t find a buyer and walked away from their houses after foreclosures, as the Fed lowered interest rates.

As people were forced out of homes they couldn’t afford, the resulting oversupply tanked property values.

But the current Mexican standoff in California stems from the lock-in effect: owners with 3% mortgage rates refuse to sell and move into a new 7% rate, keeping the market frozen.

Sellers reluctant to lose their low rates and buyers unable to afford high ones result in today’s stagnant market, keeping prices high because inventory is scarce.

On top of that, the first-time buyer affordability index shows less than a third of California households could qualify for a starter home in 2023-25.

Only 30% of households in the state qualified, down from 49% in 2007-09, according to figures from the California Association of Realtors.

Earlier this year, 30-year mortgage rates dipped below 6% for the first time since 2022, offering potential relief to would-be homeowners.

But Lansner warned that no rapid price correction is likely.

In the three years after the Great Recession, California housing sales grew by just 8% while home prices recovered by 15% through the end of 2012, according to official figures.

He Shouldn’t Be Running

According to the California Post:

An elementary school in Fresno was forced to file a police report after a child sex offender running for city council held a press conference just steps away.

Rene Campos, 41, a candidate in Fresno City Council‘s District 7 race, spoke Friday on a street outside St. John’s Cathedral to address outrage over his past, the Fresno Bee reported.

He was about 10 feet away from Big Picture Elementary School, a public charter school, which later contacted local cops.

Until 2015, under Jessica’s Law, California prohibited registered sex offenders from living within 2,000ft of any school or park in the state.

The law was later declared unconstitutional by the California Supreme Court, which ruled that residency restrictions must be applied on a case-by-case basis.

It remains unclear whether Campos is subject to any specific court orders, restraining orders or individualized restrictions related to his offense, or whether his limitations fall solely under California’s general sex offender registration requirements.

Campos, who is running to unseat incumbent Nelson Esparza, has not publicly clarified the scope of any conditions that may apply to him. The Post reached out for comment.

Esparza said the council is considering legislation to prevent people like Campos from seeking office. Other city leaders were also furious.

A Hero!

According to the New York Post:

A Nashville elementary school has cleared the record of a first-grade teacher who was disciplined for refusing to read a book about same-sex marriage to his young students, according to a report.

KIPP Antioch College Prep Elementary issued a “final warning letter” to teacher Eric Rivera in January after he declined to read an LGBTQ book to his class that was included in the language arts curriculum.

Due to his Christian beliefs, Rivera said he could not in good conscience read the book to his class, according to legal group First Liberty Institute, and he asked a colleague to read the book instead.

The next day, Rivera was summoned to the principal’s office and threatened with termination. He was told he must maintain “fidelity” to the curriculum, and a discipline letter was placed in his personnel file.

First Liberty said Rivera had received no prior warnings and had no discipline history. Afterward, he asked for a religious accommodation but was instead reassigned to a lab and technology position and then to a kindergarten position, according to the legal group.

After facing a warning letter from First Liberty in February, KIPP Antioch agreed to clear the incident from Rivera’s record, according to a press release Monday from the legal group.

The school will now also allow “all teachers to ask another employee to read materials objectionable to their faith.”

This Probably Is Not Going to Fix Anything

According to the California Post:

The effort to breathe boozy life back into the state’s struggling downtown comes courtesy of a pair of San Francisco lawmakers who want to let cities create special zones where bars and restaurants can serve drinks until 4 a.m., two hours past the legal closing time.

“The nightlife economy is responsible in our state without a doubt for tens of billions of dollars in revenue, hundreds of thousands of jobs,” Matt Haney, a Democratic state assemblyman who introduced the bill, told CBS News.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the number of people visiting businesses in downtowns across the Golden State. California cities are recovering at different rates, but none have reached the levels saw in 2019.

“Getting people back out in the streets is key to the economic recovery of cities across California,” said Wiener, a Democratic state senator who introduced the bill along with Haney.

“By creating Entertainment Zones, we’re giving people a reason to go back to areas where recovery has been slow while creating a vital new revenue stream for bars and restaurants.”

Should the bill pass, bars would need to pay an extra $2,500 each year for a permit to sell alcohol until 4 a.m.

“When the sun goes down, there is so much that is economic and culturally important,” Haney told CBS News.

Episode 1171 – Ciao to Jasmine’s Political Career!

A shocking mortality statistic comes out of Canada.

I have another reason why one can’t hate the NBA enough.

And we must say farewell to the political of Jasmine Crockett.

This Is The End!

Maybe We Should Invade Canada

According to the Post Millennial:

Canada is fast approaching its 100,000th death from Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), a grim milestone that puts it way ahead of every other nation.

Health Canada reported that 76,475 Canadians had died under MAID as of December 31, 2024. New cases were arriving at roughly 45 per day, with 2024 alone recording 16,499 deaths. Even if approvals have steadied in recent months, the government’s own trajectory suggests the 100,000th death could come in early June, weeks before the 10th anniversary of Bill C-14, which first legalized doctor-assisted suicide.

“This spring, we’re about to hit our 100,000th individual,” said Canadian anti-MAID activist Kelsi Sheren on a podcast with British rapper Nzube Udezue, known as Zuby, according to the National Post. Sheren has tracked the milestone closely, warning that the country is approaching a six-figure tally in assisted deaths.

Canada legalized MAID in 2016, years after the Netherlands and Belgium, which began allowing assisted suicide in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Unlike Belgium,  Canada does not yet permit assisted suicide for patients suffering solely from mental illness, a step planned for early 2027, but the pace of deaths isn’t slowing down.

Even as a later adopter, Canada’s MAID numbers have surged faster than any other jurisdiction. In 2020, assisted deaths jumped 36.8 percent from 5,461 to 7,451, then climbed another 34.8 percent to 9,842 the following year.  If trends continue, Canada could surpass the combined totals of every other country with legal euthanasia in a single year.

New Zealand, comparatively, has recorded roughly 1,000 deaths since 2021, Spain 697 in its first three years, and Colombia 692 between 2015 and 2023. In the US, state-level assisted suicide has existed since 1998, with total deaths reaching 5,329 across all states by 2022.

Even in Europe, long-standing euthanasia programs have produced smaller totals. Switzerland tallied 8,738 deaths over 20 years, Belgium 33,647 over 21 years. Only the Netherlands reports a higher share of assisted deaths relative to total mortality—5.8 percent versus 5.1 percent for Canada—but the larger Canadian population means more individual lives lost: 16,499 in 2024 alone, compared with 9,958 in the Netherlands.

You Couldn’t Hate the NBA Enough

According to the Daily Wire:

The Atlanta Hawks are apparently making the most out of International Women’s Month by teaming up with a famous strip club as part of their promotional “Magic City Monday” game on March 16.

The NBA team put out a release that stated the “Magic City Monday” game will honor one of Atlanta’s “iconic cultural institutions” with special food and a halftime performance by Atlanta great, T.I.

“The Hawks have worked with Magic City to bring the ‘best of’ the phenomena for fans in attendance at the award-winning State Farm Arena,” the statement read.

“We doin’ this one for the city… Magic City,” T.I. said.

The famous Atlanta strip club has been around since the ’80s and is known for more than just its strippers. Magic City is famous for its lemon pepper wings, which will be featured at the “Magic City Monday” game in a few weeks.

“From the food to the music and the exclusive merchandise, we are excited to team up with Magic City to create an authentic, True to Atlanta-inspired game experience,” said Hawks Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Proctor.

The wings are apparently so good that during the NBA bubble season in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, former Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams broke protocol to visit Magic City for the wings and was forced to miss games because of the mandatory 10-day quarantine the league required.

Not all NBA players are excited for this collab during a month that’s meant to celebrate women’s accomplishments. San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet penned an article asking Atlanta to cancel “Magic City Monday” theme night because he said the promotion doesn’t protect or esteem women and would reflect poorly on the NBA.

“The NBA should desire to protect and esteem women, many of whom work diligently every day to make this the best basketball league in the world,” Kornett wrote. “We should promote an atmosphere that is protective and respectful of the daughters, wives, sisters, mothers, and partners that we know and love.”

Episode 1170 – These Are Our Friends?!

You know, this whole war with Iran has really raised some questions about who our allies really are. Maybe it’s time to reconsider our relationship.

The morons of The View get schooled about the attacks on Iran.

And I’m sure you’re getting tired of hearing about the Iran attacks. Let’s get into some other stuff that is going on. Some of it is pretty important.

International Response

Spain’s leftist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez just BANNED the United States from using its military bases to launch strikes against Iran.

The View

The voice of reason is coming from Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

Should Have Never Been Here

According to the New York Post:

The gunman behind Austin’s possible terror-related mass shooting entered the US  and cemented his legal immigration status under Democratic administrations — despite a growing criminal record.

Senegalese national Ndiaga Diagne, 53, arrived in America on March 13, 2000, on a B-2 tourist visa during the Clinton administration, a source familiar with his immigration history told The Post on Sunday.

Diagne — who killed two people and wounded 14 more during his rampage outside a Texas bar early Sunday — then became a lawful permanent resident on an IR-6 visa in June 2006 when he married a US citizen, the source said.

He then went on to lodge a string of other arrests in the Big Apple between 2008 and 2016 — but that didn’t keep him becoming a naturalized US citizen on April 5, 2013, around the start of former President Barack Obama’s second term, sources said. Those three arrests are sealed, sources said.

Diagne also was arrested in Texas at some point on undisclosed charges, sources said.

He was a known emotionally disturbed person in both states, too, sources said.

Diagne applied for asylum in 2016, though the stated purpose and outcome of that application were not immediately clear.

The serial offender opened fire outside Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden near the University of Texas-Austin Campus early Sunday, killing two bar patrons and wounding 14 others before he was shot and killed by police.

He was wearing a “Property of Allah” hoodie at the time of the rampage and had a Quran in his car, sources familiar with the investigation told The Post.

The FBI is investigating whether he was motivated by the US-Israel-led campaign against Iran. Sources said he was wearing an undershirt emblazoned with the Iranian flag or other Iran-related imagery.

FAFO!

According to Fox News:

A federal jury in Boise awarded $10 million to a University of Idaho professor after finding a Texas TikToker financially liable for spreading false claims that linked her to the 2022 stabbing deaths of four college students.

The decision came Friday in U.S. District Court in the case of Scofield v. Guillard. Jurors awarded $7.5 million in punitive damages and $2.5 million in compensatory damages, according to court records and reporting by the Idaho Statesman.

Professor Rebecca Scofield, who chairs the university’s history department, filed suit in December 2022 against Houston resident Ashley Guillard. The lawsuit stemmed from a series of TikTok videos in which Guillard alleged, without evidence, that Scofield had a romantic relationship with one of the victims and arranged the killings.

The victims, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, were stabbed to death in a rental home near campus in Moscow, Idaho, on Nov. 13, 2022. The crime drew nationwide attention and left the campus community reeling.

Normality Wins

According to the Daily Wire:

The Supreme Court sided with a group of parents challenging a California policy that allowed schools to keep kids’ so-called gender transitions a secret.

In a 6-3 decision on Monday, the justices said that California policies that block schools from notifying parents about their child’s desire to change their sex and be referred to by incorrect pronouns likely violate their religious liberty. The ruling comes after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a lower court’s ruling siding with parents challenging California’s policies.

“We conclude that the parents who seek religious exemptions are likely to succeed on the merits of their Free Exercise Clause claim,” the Supreme Court majority wrote. “The parents who assert a free exercise claim have sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender, and they feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs. California’s policies violate those beliefs.”

The California Department of Education has argued that the challenge should be considered moot because they claim that a frequently-asked-questions page posted by the department has been edited to show that they do not mandate parental exclusion, and so there is no more cause for complaint. The FAQ page included a line that said, “with rare exceptions, schools are required to respect the limitations that a student places on the disclosure of their transgender status, including not sharing that information with the student’s parents.”

While that guidance was deleted, policies that kept parents in the dark about their children were still promoted in statewide teacher trainings, according to documents uncovered by the Thomas More Society.

Policies prohibiting local school districts from passing measures requiring teachers to inform parents about a student’s identity were signed by Governor Gavin Newsom.

“Gender dysphoria is a condition that has an important bearing on a child’s mental health, but when a child exhibits symptoms of gender dysphoria at school, California’s policies conceal that information from parents and facilitate a degree of gender transitioning during school hours. These policies likely violate parents’ rights to direct the upbringing and education of their children,” the majority wrote.

They added that “the intrusion on parents’ free exercise rights here—unconsented facilitation of a child’s gender transition—is greater than the introduction of LGBTQ storybooks we considered sufficient to trigger strict scrutiny in Mahmoud.”

Mahmoud was a case from last year where the court ruled that a Maryland county violated the rights of parents who wanted to opt their kids out of instruction related to LGBT content.

Paul Jonna, special counsel at the Thomas More Society and partner at LiMandri and Jonna LLP, said the ruling was a major victory for parents.

“This is a watershed moment for parental rights in America,” she said. “The Supreme Court has told California and every state in the nation in no uncertain terms: you cannot secretly transition a child behind a parent’s back. The Court’s landmark reaffirmation of substantive due process, its vindication of religious liberty, and its approval of class-wide relief together set a historic precedent that will dismantle secret gender transition policies across the country.”

The court’s liberal justices — Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson — wanted to block the parents’ challenge.

FAFO Part 2

According to the New York Post:

Two employees who refused to serve a man and his wife because he was wearing a hoodie with President Trump’s name on it were fired after a video of the heated encounter went viral.

Erika Lindemyer and her husband, Jake, were forced out of a Smoothie King franchise location in Ann Arbor, Michigan, following a fiery clash with two young female workers on Sunday.

The employees claimed they didn’t “feel comfortable” serving the couple because of Jake’s pro-Trump hoodie, as captured by Erika in a viral video.

Jake and Erika fired back at the pair and insisted that they were being “discriminated” against based on their “political views.”

The owner of the Ann Arbor franchise location will also enforce “mandatory retraining for all employees that outlines our guest experience standards.”

In early December, a woman who worked at a Target in California was berated by a customer for wearing a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” T-shirt.

When the employee insisted she was allowed to wear the red shirt, the irate customer accused her of supporting “a racist.”

The medical center where the agitated customer worked was bombarded with upwards of 6,000 “profanity-laced” phone calls after online sleuths doxxed her personal information.

Episode 1159 – More Bad News for California Drivers!

More bad news for California drivers will be coming on Saturday.

Nike has some explaining to do.

And Virginia Democrats have decided to go after a hundred and fifty year old institution. The Trump administration is looking to save it.

The News

  • The Washington Post is laying off 300 employees, about 1/3 of its staff. This comes on the heels of Amazon laying off 16,000 employees due to restructuring.
  • Valero is closing an oil refinery in California four months ahead of schedule.
    • Refineries are fleeing the Golden State as regulations drive operating costs 26 to 37% higher than the national average. Chevron moved its operations from the Bay Area to Texas, while Phillips 66 powered down its 140,000-barrel-per-day Los Angeles refinery in October.
    • California has the second highest gas prices in the country at $4.37. We’re going for number 1!
    • This comes before California is set to raise gas taxes by $.03 in July.
    • Get ready for $7 dollar gas.
    • The national average is $2.88 a gallon. It is Lefty states like Hawaii, California, Illinois, and New York that are keeping the average gas prices that high.
  • Embattled Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass secretly altered the official Palisades Fire response report to downplay the failures made by the city and fire department when the deadly blaze erupted, a new report said.
    • Bass, after seeing an early draft of the after-action report, wanted key findings of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s shortcomings scrubbed or watered down — and even warned then-interim Fire Chief Ronnie Villanueva the unedited conclusions could expose the city to legal liability, sources close to the Democrat’s staff told the Los Angeles Times.
  • The federal agency that enforces U.S. workplace discrimination laws said Wednesday it is investigating Nike over allegations that its diversity initiatives unlawfully discriminated against White employees and job applicants, according to a court filing.
    • Reuters reported that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) said Nike has refused to comply with a subpoena seeking information, including data on the racial and ethnic makeup of the global athletic apparel and footwear company based in Beaverton, Oregon.
    • The commission said the investigation centers on claims that Nike deliberately treated White employees and job applicants unfairly, including allegations that they were disproportionately targeted for layoffs.
    • The agency said it is seeking the records to determine whether Nike violated federal anti-discrimination law.

They Only Destroy

According to the Daily Wire:

The War Department is monitoring efforts by Virginia Democrats to potentially cripple the Virginia Military Institute, The Daily Wire can first report.

Cadets at VMI, the nation’s first state-sponsored and supported military college, have grown increasingly anxious about the fate of their institution since Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger entered office and appointed former Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam to VMI’s Board of Visitors.

Northam had ordered an audit into alleged racism and sexism at VMI in 2021, amid the Democrat-led wave of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion measures in universities across the nation — measures supported by then-President Joe Biden and his administration.

Now, Virginia Democrats suggest that the military institution is still rife with racism, sexism, and cultural barriers. They proposed two measures taking aim at the school: their proposed House Bill 1377 establishes a task force evaluating whether VMI should still be funded by the state, and House Bill 1374 would end VMI’s Board of Visitors and give the state full oversight of the institution.

Revoking VMI’s state funding would likely lead to the school’s demise.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell told The Daily Wire on Tuesday that the War Department “reserves the right to take extraordinary measures to protect the integrity of VMI.”

So why do these people hate VMI?

Some state representatives who support the measures, like Democrat Michael Feggans of Virginia Beach, point to VMI’s roots in the Civil War, arguing that the institution has buildings on campus named for Confederate military figures.

Democrat state Rep. Dan Helmer of Fairfax, frustrated that VMI did not renew the contract of VMI’s first black superintendent, told one local outlet: “For those of us, like me, who care deeply about service and care deeply about producing leaders of character, we need to ensure that VMI has turned the page.”

That’s Going to Fix the Prison System

According to the Post Millennial:

Socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani has appointed ex-convict Stanley Richards as the city’s newest Department of Correction commissioner. Per Gothamist, Richards spent two-and-a-half years on Rikers Island on robbery charges in the 1980s and spent an additional four-and-a-half years in state prison before being released in 1991. This marks the first time an ex-convict has held the role.

Mamdani said in a news conference, “Stanley will make history in this role as the first ever formerly incarcerated person to serve as commissioner. That achievement is not merely symbolic. It is a testament to the thought and leadership he will bring to every member of correction staff and incarcerated New Yorkers underneath his purview.”

After his release, Richards began working as a counselor with the Fortune Society, which provides housing and re-entry services for ex-convicts leaving jail. He served as the society’s president until his appointment, as well as a deputy correction commissioner under former Mayor Bill de Blasio and the city’s Board of Correction.

Richards said, “The future of Rikers is not endless confinement, scapegoating or demonizing. It is safety, transformation and rehabilitation.”

Benny Boscio, the president of the Correction Officers Benevolent Association union said in a statement, “Despite the many false narratives that have portrayed COBA as an ‘obstacle to reform,’ we have been ready, willing and able to meet and work with anyone, as long as they respect the rights of our Correction Officers and understand that their safety and security matter. The jails cannot and will not operate as safely as possible if the concerns of our members are brushed aside. It is our hope that Mr. Richards understands that dynamic as he takes on this new role and demonstrates a commitment to putting safety and security before any political ideology.”

Richards said in a statement, “I am deeply honored and grateful to Mayor Mamdani for this appointment. This role represents the culmination of my lifelong commitment to criminal justice reform, drawing directly from my own experience of incarceration on Rikers, which fueled my decades of work at The Fortune Society and with the Department of Correction, helping thousands rebuild their lives through reentry programs, leadership roles, and advocacy.”

“This appointment is an opportunity to lead from the top, advocating for both incarcerated individuals and correction officers to create safer jails and real pathways to rehabilitation. This is a chance to drive upstream change, connecting people to services like those at Fortune Society that transformed my own life. I will work tirelessly with this administration to ensure that we prioritize humane and safe conditions and ensure justice for all New Yorkers.”

So, what is the Fortune Society?

Mission and Purpose

The organization’s core mission is to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, with the goal of strengthening communities. It emphasizes belief in individuals’ capacity to change and works to create a more fair, humane, and rehabilitative justice system.

What They Do

The Fortune Society provides a “one-stop-shop” of services for people with justice involvement, including help with housing, employment, education, health, mental health, substance use treatment, and family support. Each year, it serves thousands of people—over 8,000 to 13,000 annually in recent descriptions—through both direct services and advocacy.

Key Programs and Services

Major service areas include supportive and transitional housing (such as its residences The Castle and Castle Gardens), job readiness and placement, educational programs (literacy, GED, and college prep), and counseling. The organization also helps with benefits enrollment, health and mental health care connections, substance use treatment, and creative arts programming.

Advocacy and Systems Change

Beyond direct services, The Fortune Society engages in policy and advocacy work aimed at reducing barriers to housing, employment, and education for people with records. It works to advance reforms that make the criminal justice system more rehabilitative and less reliant on incarceration.

I’ve Got a Weird Take

According to Fox News:

A string of recent incidents in which ICE agents and Department of Homeland Security leadership have been refused service at corporate gas stations and hotel chains has raised questions about whether private businesses can lawfully deny service to federal law enforcement officers.

The incidents — including ICE agents who were turned away from hotels and a Border Patrol commander being denied service at a gas station — have prompted debate over whether such refusals amount to lawful private discretion or illegal discrimination against federal law enforcement carrying out official duties.

The most recent flashpoint unfolded at a Speedway gas station, where video captured by conservative activist Cam Higby showed U.S. Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino being followed out of the store by a man identifying himself as a manager.

Bovino himself was silent on the matter when asked by Higby among the crowd outside Speedway, while Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said similar situations had transpired at several different gas stations where agitators stalked agents.

When Higby asked the man why he refused Bovino service, he replied: “Because I wanted to. I don’t support ICE and nobody here does.”

The man remained silent when asked if he thought it was legal to deny service to federal agents based on their role, while the employee could be heard saying, “If it is [illegal] I personally don’t care.”

They Have a Big Opinion of Themselves

According to the Post Millennial:

A few leftist men out in Minnesota decided to make a parody of the Iwo Jima flag raising, only instead lifting up the Minnesota flag, which was recently scrutinized for looking somewhat similar to the flag of Somalia.

Video of the “flag raising” was posted by Anton Treuer, who is a professor at Bemidji State University and claims to be an “Indigenous language warrior” on X.

Treuer, although it is unclear if he was pictured in the video, said in the caption, “We stand for justice and a future worth fighting for! #MNStrong #iceout #Minnesota #peace #solidarity.” The clip, which has not gone viral on social media, depicts six people holding up the Minnesota flag in the position from the famous Iwo Jima flag raising photo from World War II.

Many reacted to the post online, slamming the group of leftist as people wanting to cosplay as soldiers as the Trump administration has been surging ICE into the region to detain illegal immigrant criminals.

Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec said of the video, “Leftists in Minneapolis are now staging the flag-raising of Iwo Jima with their fake Somali flag Good Lord, we’re reaching levels of cringe that have never been seen.”

Episode 1152 – They’re Just Not Learning Their Lesson!

A nightmare storm has hit the country causing a lot of havoc.

Another useful idiot is shot in Minnesota. This is leading to more violence against ICE.

And the Democrats want to shutdown the government again. I guess they don’t want to win the House in the November elections.

Nightmare

According to the Daily Wire:

More than 800,000 customers in the United States, as far west as New Mexico, were without electricity, and over 10,000 flights were canceled on Sunday ahead of a monster winter storm that threatened to paralyze eastern states with heavy snowfall.

Forecasters said snow, sleet, freezing rain, and dangerously frigid temperatures would sweep the eastern two-thirds of the nation on Sunday and into the week.

The number of power outages continued to rise. As of 10:18 a.m. EST (1518 GMT) on Sunday, more than 800,000 U.S. customers were without electricity, according to PowerOutage.us, with at least 300,000 in Tennessee and over 100,000 each in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. Other states affected included Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama.

The Department of Energy on Saturday issued an emergency order authorizing the Electric Reliability Council of Texas to deploy backup generation resources at data centers and other major facilities, aiming to limit blackouts in the state.

On Sunday, the DOE issued an emergency order to authorize grid operator PJM Interconnection to run “specified resources” in the mid-Atlantic region, regardless of limits due to state laws or environmental permits.

The National Weather Service warned of an unusually expansive and long-duration winter storm that would bring widespread, heavy ice accumulation in the Southeast, where “crippling to locally catastrophic impacts” can be expected.

Weather service forecasters predicted record cold temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills descending further into the Great Plains region by Monday.

More than 10,100 U.S. flights scheduled for Sunday were canceled, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. Over 4,000 flights were canceled on Saturday.

Major U.S. airlines warned passengers to stay alert for abrupt flight changes and cancellations.

Other things:

  • 12 people have been killed. That doesn’t include 7 dead in New York.
  • Some transportation is being restored on a limited basis.
  • Electric companies are pouring in to bring electricity back.

There Will Be More of This

According to Fox News:

Federal officials say violent unrest in Minneapolis directly derailed an immigration arrest, leaving a suspect with a serious criminal history at large while a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was permanently maimed after a protester bit off part of his finger.

U.S. Border Patrol Commander at Large Greg Bovino said during a press conference on Sunday that Border Patrol and ICE agents were forced to abandon a targeted operation after crowds interfered, assaulted officers and turned the scene chaotic.

As a result, he said, the suspect escaped custody – a failure he blamed solely on the decisions made by politicians, activists and those who confronted law enforcement officials.

“This individual is still roaming the streets today,” Bovino said. “This individual walks the streets today because of those choices made by politicians and those, perhaps, weaker-minded constituents that chose to follow directions of those politicians. Sad state of affairs.”

The unrest erupted after a Border Patrol agent fatally shot a man during the same enforcement operation, an incident that officials said set off the violent clashes.

Federal officials identified the man fatally shot by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday as Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a member of the American Federation of Government Employees. Pretti, 37, lived in Minneapolis and worked as an intensive care unit nurse at a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital.

Authorities said Pretti was shot during an early-morning immigration enforcement operation targeting Jose Huerta-Chuma, an illegal immigrant with a criminal history that includes domestic assault involving intentional bodily harm, disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license. According to Homeland Security officials, Pretti approached Border Patrol agents while armed with a 9 mm pistol and “violently resisted” when agents attempted to disarm him.

Are They Doing This Again?

According to Fox News:

One of the key negotiators who helped end the last government shutdown won’t support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill, further adding to the likelihood of another closure.

Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, told CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday that he could not support the current, six-bill funding package as is because it included the DHS funding bill. King was a pivotal figure in ending the last shutdown, and was one of only eight Senate Democratic caucus members to join Republicans to end it.

King, like other members of the Senate Democratic caucus, is infuriated by the death of Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old nurse who was shot dead by a border patrol agent in Minneapolis on Saturday

Congressional Democrats have railed against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entering Minnesota and elsewhere, but begrudgingly agreed to support the DHS bill until the chaos over the weekend unfolded.

“I hate shutdowns,” King said. “I’m one of the people that helped negotiate the solution to the last — the end of the last shutdown, but I can’t vote for a bill that includes ICE funding under the circumstances.”

King’s resistance to the package comes after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced that Senate Democrats would not support the legislation, increasing the odds of a partial government shutdown by the end of the week.

What Did You Think She Was Going to Do?

According to the Daily Wire:

Virginia Democrats have introduced legislation that would significantly raise income and investment taxes, putting the Commonwealth on track to become the highest-taxed state in the nation. These proposals, which include new top tax brackets and higher levies on investment income, would push Virginia’s effective income tax rate above California’s.

Democrats introduced the legislation shortly after consolidating power in Richmond, creating higher income tax brackets and expanding taxes on capital gains and other investment income. If lawmakers enact the bills, the changes would raise Virginia’s top effective income tax rate to roughly 13.8%, surpassing all other states.

Lawmakers backing the measures argue the tax hikes are necessary to fund public priorities and stabilize state finances. Virginia Delegate Kelly Convirs-Fowler (D-VA) said the proposals would require “millionaires [to] pay their fair share of taxes,” arguing the revenue would help “buffer” Virginians from broader economic pressures. Left-wing policy group The Commonwealth Institute, one of the many groups behind this proposed plan, said a “Fair Share tax” could raise more than $1 billion annually for education, housing, and other public services.

Democrats have positioned the tax proposals as part of a broader affordability agenda. Governor Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) has said her administration will prioritize lowering health care, housing, and energy costs. She campaigned on what she called an agenda to build a more “Affordable Virginia.”

Other things this broad has signed into law on day one:

  • She ended cooperation with ICE and DHS.
  • She ended mandatory sentencing. Those bills included a proposal to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing for rape, manslaughter, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession and distribution of child pornography, and other repeat violent felonies. Democrats also removed the mandatory minimum five-day sentence for first time DUI offenders in the state.
  • She signed a bill aimed at requiring government contracts under $100,000 go to minority and women-owned businesses, leading some critics to argue the move is discriminatory against White men.
  • The last step in a series of actions needed to take place to enshrine abortion rights in Virginia’s state Constitution was also just passed by the Democratic Party-led state Senate. If approved by voters in November, the constitutional amendment would permit abortion in the first and second trimesters, while letting Virginia regulate abortion in the third trimester for various reasons.

Episode 1144 – Here We Go Again!

A shooting in Minnesota over a woman driving toward an ICE officer becomes a bit clearer. Be prepared for another George Floyd moment.

Let’s talk about it.

What the Hell is Going On in Minnesota?!

According to Fox News:

Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Kristi Noem alleged at a press conference on Wednesday that the woman who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was “stalking and impeding” agents all day.

Noem told reporters that ICE agents repeatedly instructed the victim, Renee Nicole Good, 37, to get out of her car and stop “obstructing” law enforcement but she did not comply.

The agency is labeling the incident as an act of “domestic terrorism.”

Video of the scene showed Good’s car in the middle of the street in a residential neighborhood as ICE agents in a dark gray Nissan Titan truck got out and approached her vehicle.

Good is heard telling agents to “go around,” and as they walk toward her Honda Pilot, one agent tells her to “get out of the car.”

She then abruptly puts it in reverse and attempts to drive off before she is shot.

Noem claimed the woman was trying to “weaponize her vehicle” and “attempted to run a law enforcement officer over.”

Tampon Tim is getting ready for a riot (he seems to really want one to deflect from his corruption). He thinks it is time to prepare the Minnesota National Guard.

He stated:

“I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard. We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary. I remind you, a Warning Order is a heads up for folks and these National Guard troops are our National Guard troops. They’re teachers in your community, they’re business owners, they’re construction professionals, they are Minnesotans. Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight. We will not take the bait.

“We’ve been warning for weeks that the Trump administration’s dangerous, sensationalized operations are a threat to our public safety, that someone was going to get hurt. Just yesterday I said exactly that.” He called the shooting the consequence “of governance designed to generate fear, headlines, and conflict. It’s governing by reality TV, and today that recklessness cost someone their life.”

Episode 1135 – Well, It’s About Time!

A New York Times writer says the quiet part out loud. Suddenly that white supremacist Great Replacement Theory might have some traction.

A terrorist attack and major fraud scandal forces the hand of the White House. Thank God!

And none of the major news story matter, because Trump said the word “retarded”.

They Are Telling Us!

Terrorism Is Rearing Its Ugly Head

According to Perplexity:

Two members of the West Virginia National Guard were shot in what officials describe as a targeted attack near the White House in Washington, D.C., on November 26, 2025. One of them, 20-year-old U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, died from her wounds, while 24-year-old Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in serious/critical condition but has shown small signs of improvement, such as responding to a nurse and moving his toes.

What happened

  • The shooting occurred in downtown Washington near the Farragut West Metro station, about two blocks from the White House, while the Guard members were on “high visibility” patrol duty.
  • Officials say the attacker walked up to the two Guard members and opened fire at close range, striking both in the head in what has been described as an ambush or targeted attack.

Victims’ status

  • Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of the West Virginia National Guard, died from her injuries the day after the shooting; she had been deployed to D.C. as part of the federal security mission.
  • Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, also from the West Virginia Guard, remains in serious or critical condition; state officials report he has been able to give a thumbs-up and wiggle his toes, which they call encouraging but not yet a guarantee of recovery.

Suspect and motive

  • The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah (or Rahmanullah/Rahmanullah) Lakanwal, was wounded when another Guard member returned fire and is in custody facing charges including first-degree murder and assault with intent to kill.
  • Reporting indicates he traveled from Washington state to D.C. and may have been experiencing a personal and financial crisis; investigators are still probing his exact motive, including his background as a member of a CIA-backed Afghan “Zero Unit.”

Political and policy fallout

  • President Donald Trump and other federal officials have characterized the attack as a targeted assault on U.S. forces and used it to justify new or tightened immigration and asylum restrictions, particularly affecting migrants from certain countries, including Afghanistan.
  • The administration has also ordered additional National Guard deployments to the capital in response to the shooting, expanding the existing security presence that had already put hundreds of Guard members on patrol in D.C.

It’s Their Culture

According to Perplexity:

There have been several large fraud cases in Minnesota in recent years in which many of the defendants are of Somali origin, but they involve specific groups and programs, not “Somalis” as a whole community, and claims about terrorism links remain largely unproven.

What fraud has actually been charged?

  • Federal prosecutors charged 47 defendants in the “Feeding Our Future” case, accusing them of stealing about 250 million dollars from COVID-era child nutrition programs in what DOJ called the largest such fraud in the nation; some defendants were Somali Minnesotans, but not all.
  • A New York Times investigation reports that over the last five years, additional schemes have targeted Minnesota’s broader social services system (including housing and autism services), with dozens of people charged and the vast majority of defendants in those particular cases being of Somali descent.

Scale and political fallout

  • Conservative outlets and Republican politicians now routinely describe “billions” in taxpayer losses tied to welfare and social-services fraud on Governor Tim Walz’s watch, and Donald Trump has used this to argue Minnesota has become a hub for fraudulent activity.
  • Minnesota officials have responded by tightening oversight and stressing that Minnesota still runs large, generally well‑regarded safety‑net programs, which can be attractive targets for organized fraud regardless of the perpetrators’ ethnicity.

Terrorism and Al‑Shabab claims

  • City Journal and allied commentators allege that some of the fraud money was routed to Al‑Shabab, prompting GOP calls for a federal probe into possible terrorism financing links.
  • Minnesota media and former U.S. Attorney Andy Luger note that in the major fraud prosecutions completed so far, the government has not presented solid evidence that funds were directed to Al‑Shabab, describing existing evidence for that claim as scant.

Voter fraud vs. welfare fraud

Issue typeMain allegationsStatus and sourcing
Voter / ballot fraudClaims of ballot buying and “ballot harvesting” tied to Somali networks around Ilhan Omar’s district.Investigations and media fact‑checks have treated several high‑profile videos and claims as unreliable or part of coordinated disinformation, with no large‑scale criminal case proving “massive” organized Somali voter fraud statewide.
Welfare / social‑services fraudOrganized schemes exploiting nutrition, housing, Medicaid, and autism‑therapy programs, with dozens of defendants, most of them Somali in some cases.Multiple federal indictments and guilty pleas show very large program‑fraud losses, but they involve specific groups and entities, not the broader Somali population.

How to interpret “massive fraud by Somalis”

  • Law enforcement and courts have documented large‑dollar fraud schemes in which many participants happen to be Somali Minnesotans, reflecting how specific networks exploited programs that serve, employ, or are trusted by that community.
  • Officials and Somali community leaders emphasize that blaming “Somalis” collectively is inaccurate and stigmatizing, since most Somali Minnesotans were neither accused nor involved, and many have helped expose and push back against these schemes.

If you want, further detail can be broken down by specific case (e.g., Feeding Our Future vs. autism‑therapy or housing schemes) or by what is actually in court records versus what is only being alleged in political rhetoric.

Is This Really What’s Important?

This Needs to Happen!

According to the Daily Wire:

In a late-night Thanksgiving message that came hours after news that a National Guard soldier shot by an Afghan refugee had died, President Donald Trump promised not only to immediately “pause migration from all Third World Countries,” but also to undertake major actions that he says will reverse the immigration crisis plaguing the country.

In the blistering holiday message, Trump said the United States had been “divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at” for its “just plain STUPID” approach to immigration. He made a series of promises aimed at both stopping the flow of new immigrants, and both cutting off benefits to and removing certain populations that are already here.

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country,” Trump pledged.

The president also promised to “end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.”

The nation’s generosity, Trump argued, has been weaponized against it, allowing a vast foreign-born population to overwhelm the country and inflict deep social harm.

Trump said the United States now hosts a “foreign population” of 53 million, citing census data, and charged that many recent arrivals depend on taxpayer-supported welfare programs while coming from “failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.”
