  • Incumbent conservative justices Sarah Warren and Charles Bethel, both appointed to Georgia’s top court by Republican Gov. Nathan Deal, defeated liberal former state Sen. Jen Jordan and attorney Miracle Rankin. 
  • Massie lost his primary election on Tuesday evening to Trump-backed challenger Ed Gallrein. Additionally, other Trump-aligned candidates scored victories, including in Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, and Louisiana, while anti-Trump candidates struggled.
  • The Justice Department unsealed a federal indictment Wednesday against former Cuban President Raúl Castro, accusing the 94-year-old communist leader of playing a central role in a 1996 attack that left three Americans and one United States resident dead.
    • Castro, the younger brother of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, faces charges including conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, destruction of aircraft, and murder, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced in Miami to a cheering crowd. The Trump administration hopes to try Castro on United States soil.
    • The charges stem from a 1996 incident wherein Cuba shot down two planes operated by the Miami-based exile group Brothers to the Rescue. The organization attempted to search for Cubans fleeing the communist country by boat. Four people were killed in the attack.
  • The alleged gunmen in a shooting rampage that left three people dead outside a San Diego mosque have been identified as 17-year-old Cain Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez, according to a law enforcement source.
    • At least one of the suspects took a weapon from his parents’ home and left a suicide note that talked about racial pride, a law enforcement source told The Post.
    • Clark and Velasquez were found dead inside a BMW from self-inflicted gunshot wounds only a few blocks from the Islamic Center of San Diego.
    • Anti-Islamic writings were found in the suspects’ vehicle and “hate speech” was written on the firearms used in the shooting, according to the source.
    • The teenage San Diego mosque gunmen appear to have left behind a shocking, hate-filled manifesto, which praised Adolf Hitler and a slew of mass murderers, before the attack, The California Post has learned.
    • The document expresses a desire to spark a race war and bring about the end of civilization.
    • Aaron Rogers will retire at the end of the 2026 season.

A teenage stabbing victim bled to death on the street in Southampton after British police arrested and cuffed him rather than his alleged Sikh attacker, after the suspect claimed he’d been racially abused, according to court testimony.

Henry Nowak, 18, a finance student at the University of Southampton, was walking home from a night out in December 2025, chatting with some friends on Snapchat, when he was encountered by Vickrum Digwa, 23. After a brief exchange, Digwa stabbed Nowak with an eight-inch Sikh ceremonial shastar blade, according to court testimony reported by BBC. A post-mortem examination showed Nowak had four stab wounds, BBC reported.

Nowak tried to escape over a fence, but was “aggressively pursued” by Digwa, jurors were told.

However, when Hampshire Constabulary police officers arrived at the scene, they arrested the dying Nowak rather than Digwa after the suspect claimed he’d been “racially abused and attacked by a drunken man,” prosecutor Nicholas Lobbenberg KC said, ITV News reported.

Nowak was handcuffed and police administered first aid before he fell unconscious, according to Lobbenberg. He died a short time later at the scene. “Put simply,” the prosecutor told jurors, “Henry drowned in his own blood, with his lung having been cut by the knife going eight centimeters into him.”

Lobbenberg acknowledged that Sikh males are allowed to carry a knife as part of their religious obligation. Digwa did have a small ceremonial knife called a kirpan in his possession. However, the knife used to stab Nowak was an “extremely large knife” openly displayed over Digwa’s clothing, ITV News reported.

The prosecutor challenged Digwa’s claim that Nowak was drunk, saying the student had drunk less than the law’s drink-drive limit.

In a direct assault on the constitutional rights of law-abiding Virginians, Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger signed a sweeping package of gun control measures, including a ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and standard-capacity magazines.

Spanberger signed the legislation into law on Thursday, criminalizing the purchase, sale, manufacture, and importation of the AR-15 — the most popular rifle in America — along with a wide range of semi-automatic handguns and shotguns. The National Rifle Association responded immediately, filing a state lawsuit to block these unconstitutional mandates before the ink could even dry.

While the governor attempted to frame her last-minute amendments as “technical changes,” the NRA has denounced them as a transparent attempt to rebrand blatant violations of the Second Amendment.

When she campaigned for governor, Spanberger studiously avoided calling for the kind of ban she just signed, saying instead, “We need to strengthen Virginia’s safe storage laws, prevent the sale of large-capacity magazines, and crack down on criminals who manufacture and possess illegal, untraceable ghost guns — efforts that would keep Virginia’s kids, families, and law enforcement officers safe.”

Nekima Levy Armstrong, the former head of the NAACP’s Minneapolis chapter who was arrested in January for storming a church alongside other anti-ICE agitators, said the joke was “not a laughing matter.” The phrase “I can’t breathe” was frequently featured at Black Lives Matter events, referencing words uttered by Floyd as police were attempting to take him into custody.

A suspect drawing swastikas on property in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been revealed to be a black man who has also been arrested on charges of pointing a gun at people and passing cars.

Taquon Jameek Vereen, 18, has been identified as the suspect who was caught on video spray painting the Nazi symbol on a building as well as other property.

He posted a $1,500 bond on Tuesday for the swastika incident. However, later that same day, he was arrested for pointing a gun at passing cars and people on the street. Police said that they got multiple calls about a black man pointing a gun at people on the street.

He is now being held at $2,500 bond for the charges related to pointing the gun at people on the street.

A federal judge declared a mistrial on Thursday after a jury failed to reach a verdict in a case against a leftist musician accused of assaulting federal agents during a 2025 demonstration at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon. Assistant US Attorney Kathryn Rykken said the government plans to refile felony charges against defendant Oriana Rebecca Korol.

Korol, 38, of Portland, has been accused of biting and kicking a federal officer while being detained for interfering with a separate arrest. The 12 jurors deliberated for roughly eight hours before US District Court Judge Karin Immergut declared a mistrial after a unanimous decision was not reached, the Oregonian reported.

A tentative new trial date has been scheduled for June 16. The incident occurred on October 12, 2025.

According to court documents, Korol was captured on video footage pulling a male protester away from federal officers who were attempting to arrest him. A Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service (FPS) officer pushed Korol out of the way, knocking her to the ground.

While on the ground, Korol allegedly kicked an FPS officer in the right leg. She was placed under arrest but resisted. During a struggle, Korol allegedly proceeded to bite the officer’s left arm with her teeth, according to the affidavit. It took several federal agents to take Korol into custody. 

Judge Immergut informed the jury at the beginning of the case that in order to convict Korol, they would need to establish that Korol had made coercive physical contact with the officer while performing his duties and that the contact had not been conducted in the course of justified self-defense. The judge said that forcible assault happens when someone intentionally strikes or willfully injures another person. 

The foreperson informed Judge Immergut that it would be unlikely for the jury to reach a unanimous decision. The judge thanked and dismissed the jurors and said, “No case is easy. Certainly this case was not an easy one,” according to the Oregonian.

This Law Will Kill Gavin Newsom’s Chance at President

According to the New York Post:

A pedophile who was hit with a more than 300-year sentence for sexually abusing children as young as 5 years old admitted his sick desires are “always going to be there” — but was granted early release anyway under a controversial law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Gregory Lee Vogelsang, 57, was convicted of kidnapping and molesting multiple children between the ages of 5 and 11 in the ’90s in the Sacramento area. He was sentenced to 355 years to life in prison.

But in the November hearing, a three-person board granted the pedophile parole, despite his heinous crimes.

In a transcript of the hearing, released by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Vogelsang spoke about his obsession with young boys.

“I got to know what the internal triggers and external triggers and what the risky situations and the warning signs are for pedophilia,” Vogelsang said, according to the transcript reported by Capital Public Radio.

“And, like I said before, when I don’t view a child as a sex object, I don’t want to become aroused, but I know it’s always going to be there.”

He also blamed the abuse he faced as a child for his obsession.

“I think when I was a child, I had normalized child molestation due to my father abusing me from 7 to 11,” Vogelsang said.

“It wasn’t until I had dealt with my own childhood abuse of the pain, the harm, the guilt and the shame that I felt as a child, that today I can sit there and say that I honestly understand the psychological and the emotional damage that I was doing.”

A law signed by Newsom in 2020 cleared the way for Vogelsang’s release, because it allows inmates 50 and older who have served 20 or more years to receive parole consideration.

An armed man with tactical gear and a firearm was able to walk into Zwink Elementary School in Klein, Texas on Tuesday this week. Kyle Najm Chris, also known as Muhi Mohanad Najm, 39, of Klein, has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, a charge associated with bringing a weapon on school grounds.

Najm was then taken into custody on Wednesday at 6:30 pm, according to KHOU11. According to the criminal complaint against the suspect, he was seen entering the front office of the front office of the school where he was dressed in full military tactical gear and has a gun holstered.

When he was asked how he was able to get past security, Najm said that the front door was not latched. When employees asked him to identify himself, he did not do so, left the school, and then drove away in a dark blue Dodge Charger.

“From the moment the individual left the front office, we were actively working with multiple law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend this individual,” the school wrote in a message to parents explaining why they were not immediately notified. “Sending a public notification during that window could have jeopardized those efforts, tipped off the suspect, and delayed the arrest.”

The suspect was later identified with security footage and a facial recognition system as well as a license plate database. Najm has no affiliation with the school. No students or staff were harmed during the incident. Authorities said that the man has a private investigator license and has a Texas Concealed Handgun License.

  • Iran named Ayotollah Mojtaba Khamenei, a son of the country’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s next ruler.
  • President Donald Trump told Fox News’ “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade” on Sunday night that he is “not happy” with Iran’s selection of Ayotollah Mojtaba Khamenei as the Islamic Republic’s new supreme leader.
  • The war with Iran has sent global oil prices skyrocketing past $100 a barrel as the regime’s stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz has all but stopped tankers from using the shipping lane.
  • President Donald Trump on Monday told the New York Post that he’s “nowhere near” ordering boots on the ground in Iran to secure enriched uranium reportedly stored at Iran’s Isfahan nuclear complex.
    • “We haven’t made any decision on that. We’re nowhere near it,” Trump told the outlet over the phone.
  • U.S. Central Command on Monday morning issued a “fact check” on a Russian and Iranian media claim that a U.S. patriot missile struck a Bahrain neighborhood by accident. 
    • Russian and Iranian media claimed that a U.S. patriot missile missed intercepting an Iranian missile or drone and inadvertently hit the neighborhood, according to the command. 
    • “What really happened: An Iranian drone struck a residential neighborhood, injuring 32 civilians in Bahrain, including children who required medical treatment, according to Bahrain’s government,” the command said, adding “TRUTH.”
  • A seventh U.S. soldier who died from injuries sustained while he was supporting Operation Epic Fury in Saudi Arabia last week has been identified, the Department of War announced.
    • Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, of Glendale, Ky., died of his wounds on Sunday after he was injured during “an enemy attack” on March 1 at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, the department said.

Here We Go Again

According to the New York Post:

A pair of ISIS-trained extremists were charged with hurling an IED at Gracie Mansion duringa rowdy weekend protest — allegedly packing the homemade bomb with “Mother of Satan,” a volatile explosive favored by international terrorists.

The two pro-Muslim fanatics – Ibraham Kayumi, 19, and Emir Balat, 18 – both self-radicalized in recent years and traveled to Turkey and other terror-training hot spots, law enforcement sources close to the case told The Post.

Balat spent more than three months in Istanbul last year, while Ibrahim flew to Istanbul and Saudi Arabia in 2024, and made a trip to Melbourne, Australia in 2019, the sources said.

The pair admitted to cops after getting busted at the violent demonstration outside the mayor’s residence on Saturday afternoon that they also watched ISIS videos and tossed the bomb at right-wing agitators because they felt the agitators insulted their religion, the sources said.

The homemade device consisted of sports drink bottles filled with triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, a substance favored by terrorists and known as “Mother of Satan” — which is so volatile that it typically doesn’t require a fuse to go off, they said. The dangerous substance can be cobbled together using household ingredients readily available at home improvement stores and pharmacies, making it cheap to produce.

The same type of bomb was used in high-profile terror attacks in France, the UK, Belgium and New Delhi over more than a decade — often with fatal consequences.

Fortunately, it failed to go off during the Saturday afternoon clash between demonstrators backing right-wing activist Jake Lang and pro-Muslim counter-protesters.

The incident unfolded during a planned anti-Muslim protest organized by right-wing agitator Jake Lang outside Gracie Mansion — which sparked a rowdy confrontation with counter protesters that quickly turned violent.

Video footage shows several scuffles that led to six arrests — including the two accused wannabe bombers.

How did Zorhan Mamdani respond? Here was his statement after it was discovered that this was a terrorist attack:

“Yesterday, white supremacist Jake Lang organized a protest outside Gracie Mansion rooted in bigotry and racism,” Mamdani complained. “Such hate has no place in New York City. It is an affront to our city’s values and the unity that defines who we are.”

“What followed was even more disturbing. Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device and hurt others is not only criminal, it is reprehensible and the antithesis of who we are,” he continued. “I want to thank the brave men and women of the NYPD who acted quickly to keep New Yorkers safe. Our officers ran toward danger without hesitation, demonstrating once again the courage and dedication it takes to protect this city every single day. My administration is closely monitoring the situation and I remain in close contact with our Police Commissioner.”

Are They a Threat Now?

A Pakistani national accused of plotting to assassinate US political leaders testified Wednesday that Iranian intelligence agents pressured him to take part in the scheme, claiming they directed him to target President Donald Trump and former President Joe Biden.

Asif Merchant, 47, told a jury in Brooklyn federal court that he felt compelled to cooperate with the plan because his relatives were being threatened.

“I had no other options. My family was threatened,” Merchant claimed to jurors in a Brooklyn federal court, per the New York Post. He’s been charged with paying two undercover FBI agents posing as hitmen just $5,000 to carry out the assassination plot.

Merchant, originally from Pakistan, testified that an Iranian handler instructed him in April 2024 to travel to the United States and arrange for “maybe to have somebody murdered.” According to his testimony, the handler offered three possible targets.

“He did not tell me exactly who it is, but he named three people to me: Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Nikki Haley,” the accused terrorist explained. At the time, Trump and Biden were the frontrunners in the 2024 presidential race. Haley had ended her campaign roughly a month before.

Merchant has pleaded not guilty to terrorism and murder-for-hire charges following his August 2024 arrest. He testified that he had initially offered to help Iranian operatives in late 2022 or early 2023 by assisting with money transfers designed to dodge US sanctions.

He claimed his Iranian contact, identified as Mehrdad Yousef, ordered him to both organize the assassination attempt and obtain unspecified documents. Merchant alleged the man belonged to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

FBI agents and airport police worked together to investigate after an unspecified threat caused officials to evacuate sections of Kansas City International Airport in Missouri on Sunday morning.

According to multiple reports, hundreds of passengers were evacuated onto the tarmac as investigators closed one terminal, out of “an abundance of caution,” and diverted several flights, leaving others — who landed after the threat was received — stranded on the taxiway until they were given the all-clear.

The threat, according to reports, came in at 11:50 a.m. local time and prompted an immediate and complete evacuation of the terminal. Flights did not resume until after 2 p.m. In the interim, airport police and FBI agents conducted sweeps of the terminal.

The Seattle police union is slamming the city’s new socialist mayor for apparently issuing a directive halting all open drug use arrests — in favor of promoting a diversion program they say suffers from “suicidal empathy.”

Wilson, 43, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, ran on a platform of seemingly impossible guarantees — including a promise to “Trump-proof Seattle,” according to her campaign website.

The Seattle Police Officers Guild said it was blindsided by a directive from Wilson’s team to pause open drug use arrests, in a statement issued Sunday.

The union said that an internal memo ordered the police department to funnel related cases through the city’s Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion program, which aims to steer offenders engaged in low-level drug crime away from the criminal justice system.

LEAD seeks to connect alleged drug users with intensive case managers, who typically help their clients with anything from housing to mental illness.

The union blasted her apparent decision as a glaring red flag that will promote societal decay — and claimed LEAD actively supports “suicidal empathy” in its lenient practices.

“Most cops know that the LEAD program supports this ideology, and they don’t want to refer cases. It is a waste of time. We’ve all seen how our streets can be filled with death, decay, blight, and crime when ideology like this infects our city. Now with this resurrected insane direction, death, destruction, and more human suffering will be supercharged,” Mike Solan, the union president, said.

Police Chief Shon Barnes wrote that “new policies and procedures are inevitable” in the wake of “the shifting political landscape our city has grown accustomed to,” in the full memo obtained by KOMO.

The jarring change was “effective immediately,” said Barnes, who also noted that any suspect who refuses to comply with LEAD will still face “traditional prosecutorial measures.”

Wilson, however, denied the union’s bold assertions and claimed in a statement Monday that she hadn’t enforced any policy change.

“You’ll know when I announce a policy change, because I’ll announce a policy change,” she said sarcastically.

Despite the orders laid out in the internal memo, Seattle PD also said “nothing has changed when it comes to police continuing to make drug-related arrests.”

Meanwhile, seven of the top 10 growth states are run by Republican governors and nine went red in the 2024 presidential election, the analysis said. The top five states for growth were Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina, according to U-Haul.

Mr. Walz and Ms. Klobuchar met on Sunday in Minnesota, where he informed her of his plans and she confirmed her interest in running to succeed him. For Mr. Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president in the 2024 election, the departure caps a brief rise in national politics.

Mr. Walz said a widening scandal over fraud in social services programs in Minnesota had persuaded him to drop out of the race. He had been criticized for his administration’s oversight of the programs and its failure to prevent widespread fraud.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday morning that his administration launched a fraud investigation into California in the wake of the federal government’s Minnesota fraud probe.

Trump accused California under Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom of being worse than Minnesota when it comes to corruption. Minnesota, another Democrat-run state, that has come under the microscope in the past month over a welfare fraud scheme and allegations that Somali-run daycares have been inflating their enrollment numbers to receive more taxpayer funding.

“California, under Governor Gavin Newscum, is more corrupt than Minnesota, if that’s possible???” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The Fraud Investigation of California has begun. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

The president did not specify what the fraud investigation would look into or which federal agency would lead it. A White House official told The Daily Wire that there was “nothing to add to the President’s post.” In a statement shared with The Daily Wire, Newsom’s office called Trump “a deranged, habitual liar.”
