Here We Go!

According to the New York Post:

Go ahead and give “Frosty” the cold shoulder.

Driving while jamming to the snowman-themed seasonal song could land you in a snow bank if you’re not careful.

That’s according to experts who warn against listening to music with a high rate of beats per minute, or BPMs, while headed over the river and through the woods this holiday season.

The fearsome festive news comes courtesy of a study from the South China University Of Technology (SCUT), where researchers found songs with a BPM greater than 120 guilty of encouraging dangerous driving habits.

And after evaluating a lengthly list said to include every classic Christmas tune, 1950’s “Frosty The Snowman,” first recorded by Gene Autry — and later that year, Jimmy Durante — was named by Insuranceopedia as “the most dangerous” to drive to, skidding to number one with a potentially crazy-making 172 BPM.

“As the holiday season approaches, it’s important to recognize how music influences our driving habits. While festive tunes bring joy, some high-energy or distracting songs can impact our focus on the road,” Max Coupland, CEO of the insurance guidance website explained.

And while it’s nearly impossible to avoid at this time of year, the second most dangerous song, according to the coverage kings, is “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, by the Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey.

The highly-decorated tune has a nerve-jangling BPM of 150, the site said.

Other so-called offenders included Jose Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad at No. 3 on the naughty list, and Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, which has apparently been creating dangerous conditions on highways since 1934, when it first sleighed on the pop charts.

The findings were compiled using information from the SCUT study that suggested that these types of spirited songs can have psychological and cardiovascular effects that may increase the likelihood of the kind of driving that results in increased accidents on the road, the pros proffered.

Meanwhile, some people apparently don’t even need to be driving to be driven crazy by a Christmas carol.

Several adults got into a fight at one of Mariah Carey’s recent holiday concerts, and a clip of the incident is going viral on social media, The Post reported this week.

The brawl broke out as the ’90s pop diva was performing her smash-hit seasonal anthem.

“Those moms must have had too much wine,” one armchair observer exclaimed on X.Top 10 Most Dangerous Christmas Songs To Drive To This Holiday Season

Vote on What?

According to Fox 5 San Diego:

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on a new proposal to determine whether they’ll continue to use county resources to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement with deportations.

The plan would stop the county’s support in mass deportations, which Morgan Principi, the legal director with Pathways to Citizenship, says could keep families together.

“Most likely they have a spouse or a child or a parent who is a U.S. citizen that relies on them as the main breadwinner,” Principi said.

You could say the same about a burglar. Should we legalize that?

But, the Fifth District Supervisor Jim Desmond said the new legislation could prevent ICE from deporting criminals in San Diego.

“They’re here illegally. They’ve committed crimes. I don’t think that’s the type of people we want,” Desmond said. “We want immigrants, but we want law-abiding immigrants.”

The legislation wouldn’t interfere with federal criminal investigations, but it would leave ICE with the responsibility to handle immigration enforcement.

Just an FYI: Crossing the border illegally is a federal crime (per the Constitution) and that overrides state or local laws.

The Trump administration needs to sue this states and localities that are doing this crap.

Why Not Just Shoot One Down?

According to Newsweek:

The FBI has issued a statement addressing ongoing mystery drone sightings that have now spread from New Jersey to New York, urging public cooperation in their investigation.

It comes as residents in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, reported drones on Sunday night, joining numerous sightings across New Jersey in recent weeks.

The FBI released a statement:

“We understand the concern, and we are doing all we can to figure out what’s going on. We truly don’t have much information to provide at the moment.”

You could just shoot one down.
