Episode 340 – Let’s Go Over This Thing

News from Facebook about the Donald Trump account ban.

And let’s talk about Joe Biden’s American Families Plan.

What is this American Families Plan Thing

Joe Biden wants to spend another $2 trillion for his American Families Plan. He made a big stink about it in his speech last week. Let’s take a look at the plan from the horse’s mouth at whitehouse.gov.

It starts:

Right now, too many Americans are struggling to meet basic needs and cover basic expenses. An economy that fails so many of us is not only unfair, it’s unsustainable. The American Families Plan is a once-in-a-generation investment in the foundations of middle-class prosperity – education, health care, and child care. It recognizes that policies to make life easier for American families must focus on bringing everyone along: inclusive of gender, race, or place of residence – urban, suburban, or rural. Beyond helping American families meet the needs of today, this plan powers the innovation and growth of tomorrow.

Of course, gender and race have to be brought up. You know something, I’m pretty sure all laws apply to you no matter your gender or race. That’s because this country is not systemically racist and all are laws are applied equally. I think I read that somewhere.

The plan is broken up into three sections.

The first section is titled Make education more affordable and expand opportunity. It includes:

Investing in education is a down payment on the future of America. The American Families Plan will make transformational investments from early childhood to postsecondary education so that all children and young people are able to grow, learn, and gain the skills they need to succeed.

Two free years of community college for millions of Americans.

What a waste. Today, people out of college are given entry level jobs. Why? Because they have no useful skills. Apparently mastering in Lesbian Dance Theory is not a useful skill. Reality is most college students take liberal arts not STEM courses. These are not useful.

Also, there is no limit on what students can take. They can take anything. Maybe force them to take something useful. I think trade schools would be far more helpful than a community college degree. To me, this seems like more of an opportunity to indoctrinate.

Here’s something I might support: money for trade schools where students actually learn a skill that can benefit society.

Universal access to high-quality, free Pre-K for 3- and 4- year-olds.

Really? Kids at 3 need free access to an education in block building? One word: indoctrination.

Lower college costs for low-and middle- income students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and institutions such as Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving institutions (AANAPISIs), and other minority-serving institutions (MSIs).

This is racist and unconstitutional. It is a law that favors one race over the other.

An increase of up to approximately $1,400 in Pell Grants and allowing DREAMers to access the funding.

Making future voters, illegal aliens, legal. Why is my tax money going to people who are not citizens and actually have no business being in this country?

Provide support to students to increase retention and completion.

Not sure what this is going to do but if students need help to retain and complete their college education, should they really be going to college?

A $9 billion investment to strengthen teacher pipelines and address shortages, increase the number of teachers of color, and support the growth of teachers.

This is more money to the teacher’s unions. Seriously, how much money do these people need? They haven’t worked in over a year!

The next section is entitled, Provide economic security for families

Our nation is strongest when everyone has the opportunity to join the workforce and contribute to the economy. But many workers struggle to both hold a full-time job and care for themselves and their families.

Ensure no one earning under 150% of state median income has to pay more than 7% of their income on high-quality care for children under 5.

This encourages single-home families. That’s what it’s for. I know we are in a society that discourages single motherhood and really doesn’t care about fathers. Heck, nuclear families with a stay-at-home parent has been condemned my Karl Marx himself. That’s because they want the government to be the second parent. Be damned to the kid being raised in a healthy, caring environment with two parents, the government will look like a foreigner.

This also brings up something that annoys the crap out of me: If you can’t afford kids, do not have kids until you can afford kids!

Provide comprehensive paid family and medical leave, allowing workers to take the time they need to care for a new child, their own serious illness or a seriously ill loved one.

You know, I never got this. The reason is that business needed to run  even if I had a kid. Taking six months off to have a baby was never an option. If I needed six months off then I better start looking for another job. This is just not fair to the business, the business owner and my fellow employees.

That brings up another point: who is going to pay for this? What the hell do you need three to six months off for to take care of a kid and why should you get paid for it? Again, if one cannot afford to have a kid, do not have a kid.

Expand nutrition assistance, including school meal programs and the summer nutrition benefit program, for children and families.

More nanny-state crap.

There are three jobs of a parent: provide shelter, clothing and food. It’s not the government’s job to do that and none of those are a “right”.

If you can’t afford to feed a child, don’t have children.

Invest $3 billion in maternal health.

Not sure more money is a thing. There are a ton of services available already. I used to work for one. I would like to see what that $3 billion will be going to. Abortion on demand? Planned Parenthood? I might have a problem with this.

The final section is to Expand tax credits that help workers and families.

I don’t like this one. Tell me what you think:

Make the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit permanent, providing up to $4,000 to cover expenses related to care for a child under age 13 or dependent with a disability needing care and up to $8,000 to cover expenses for multiple children or dependents. Families making under $125,000 can claim the full credit, and families earning up to $438,000 can claim a partial credit. It will be fully refundable so low-income families who don’t owe a lot in taxes can fully benefit.

No, no, no.

This is paving the way for Universal Basic Income. This is already a serious drag on the debt. It is too expensive.

Again, if you can’t afford to raise a kid, do not have a kid.

Make the Earned Income Tax Credit Expansion for Childless Workers Permanent, benefitting 17 million low-wage workers, many of whom are essential workers including cashiers, cooks, delivery drivers, food preparation workers, and child care workers.

Paves the way for Universal Basic Income and more dependence on the government. If you are single, you should be able to take care of yourself.

Extend the Child Tax Credits increases in the American Rescue Plan for another five years – increasing tax credits for child under 6 from $2,000 to $3, 600 and for child over 6 from $2,000 to $3,000.

I wouldn’t mind this much except for the fact that the extra money given to those who qualify will be stolen from people who make more and are already paying a ton of money. This is just another way of redistributing wealth.

Lower health care costs by making the American Rescue Plan’s health insurance premium reductions permanent, saving families an average of $50 per person per month.

Make a bad idea permanent. We are going to see in the coming “Biden ideas” that he is slowly and through deception try to implement parts of the Obamacare plan. This is part of it.

And, remember this, it sounds like a little thing but that money is going to come from somewhere.

My Thoughts

The American Families Plan is simply a wealth redistribution plan. It’s socialism. It uses the greed of the middle and lowers classes to justify stealing money from those who make more. It’s a bad plan.

  • It is introducing us to the untenable Universal Basic Income.
  • It embraces bad decisions. Having children out of wedlock and having children when one can’t afford them just to name a couple.
  • It creates dependence on the government.
  • Doesn’t encourage people to work and improve themselves or their circumstance.

It is a bad and wasteful plan. It won’t pass by itself, if Republicans have the balls to wave it off. Joe Machin and Kirsten Sinima have already said they are not sure of this bill so it hardly looks like it has any chance of getting passed (much like Old Joe’s infrastructure bill).

We shall see.

Episode 287 – Rolling Those Dice

The stock market is all a-buzz over the shares of GameStop soaring over 1700% in the last week. Looks like a bunch of kids in social media set Wall Street on fire.

I had to really brush up on my economics to figure this one out. Because I think that the Democrats will make a big stink out of this (indeed, it’s already happening), we should talk about it.

How Does the Stock Market Work

So a bunch of Reddit users decided to mess with the stick market, targeting their ire on the hedge fund managers on Wall Street. Regular folks who do not know much about the stock market are celebrating this. I thought it was kind of funny and wasn’t sure how it was legal until I listened to Tucker Carlson and the Ben Shapiro Show (you should subscribe).

The stock market is there so that people can invest in a public company. What’s nice about this is an individual can actually own part of a company and the company is able to raise funds to reinvest into the company. If a company has a good strategy and is well run, they have a good chance at making a profit making the company more desirable, raising the stock price. Likewise, a company with crappy management and no strategy will force the stock price to go down. Basically, the stock market is good because it gives an actual value to a company.

Sometimes a company will not have the correct value. It will either be priced to low of priced to high. If the price of a stock costs too much, people who know the value of a company will buy the stock, raising the price of the stock until it reaches the appropriate price. If a stock is priced to high, well, enter the hedge fund manager.

This is how it works:

  • A hedge fund manager will “borrow” a stock for a certain amount of time with the promise to return the stock plus a fee. Let’s say I borrow a stock that is overpriced at $100. I promise that, in a week, I will return the stock plus give the guy $10.
  • The hedge fund manager sells the stock, getting $100.
  • The stock corrects to $20.
  • The hedge fund manager buys the stock for $20.
  • He returns the stock to the original owner plus the $10. The hedge fund manager makes $70 profit on the stock.
  • This is called a “shorting a stock.”

Now, things can go wrong and this is where there is a lot of issues people have with hedge fund managers. Lets say that stock doesn’t go down but goes up to $300 a share. Then the hedge fund manager gets screwed because he has to buy it at $300 to return the stock and still has to pay the $10. This is called a “short squeeze.” What people hate about this is the government will usually bail out the hedge fund manager but will not usually bail out the regular guy.

I understand why people get mad at the government for doing this but I don’t know why people blame the hedge fund managers. It’s like people playing with the tax laws to pay less taxes. It’s the government’s fault.

Now enter Game Stop

Game Stop is a video game store. They sell game new and used consoles, new and used video games and collectibles. It is an expensive store and cannot compete with companies like Amazon. It is not particularly profitable. The stock price was $17.25 a share in January.

A bunch of Reddit users decided to screw with the market. What they did was get together and all of them started buying the Game Stop stock. This raised the price incredibly. One Reddit user bought 50,000 shares of the stock worth about $56,000. Hedge fund managers saw that the stock was inflated and thought they could make a killing (the stock doubled) so they went out to short sell the stock. But the Reddit users had different ideas.

Instead of selling their stocks, the Reddit users bought more. The stock ended up going to a little over $347 a share. That is over a 2000% increase in price! The hedge fund managers were screwed. I am not kidding when I say this: the hedge fund managers took billions of dollars in losses.

Today, the stock is dropping like a rock but the damage is done. As of this morning, shares of GameStop were down 44% and I’m sure it is going to be down by a lot more. The government is going to have to bail out those that lost their shirts and is very concerned about the situation.

Is this a good thing? Not really. It can be funny how the experts were completely fooled but it can also be true that this is not a good thing. It shows how easily the stock market can be manipulated. Don’t be surprised that this situation does not come up by the Left as showing how bad capitalism is. They will say it is an unstable system absent of any morality and that it needs to be changed.

So let’s get into that. First thing we need to take a look at is if this whole thing was legal.

Was This Legal?

The first thing I wondered was whether this was legal. Did these Reddit users break insider trading laws? The answer is no. Let me explain.

If Martha owns 1000 shares of the widget stock that is already at the market price, say, $10 a share. She may not make any money. She may decide that this isn’t good. So she calls all her friends and says that widgets are going to go straight up and they should buy as soon as possible before the stock soars. Her friends contact their friends and all start buying the stock. The stock begins to rise artificially based on Martha’s lie about the strength of the stock. When the stock hits $30 a share, Martha sells making a 200% profit. This is illegal. She artificially inflated the stock by lying to other buyers of the stock. This is fraud.

Insider trading violations can also occur in the opposite direction. If you didn’t know, I was talking about Marth Stewart, who served some time in jail for insider trading. She did not make a profit on those stocks but got a tip that her stocks would go down. She sold her stocks in order not to lose money. I think she ended up still losing $50,000.

But, in this case, the Reddit users did not hide anything. They said they were going to experiment with manipulating the stock market and screw the hedge fund managers. There was no lying and no fraud. So there were no laws broken. All it did was show the weakness of the stock market. These guys just made a lot of money while others lost their shirts.

Is This Unethical?

I had a conversation with a friend who lives with me. He wanted to know what this whole thing was about. That’s why I looked this up and learned what happened. We had the conversation about whether this was legal and I explained based of my understanding of this. But, then, he asked whether or not I thought this was ethical or moral. This is a great question and I had to think about it. I came up with an analogy.

One decides to go to a casino to gamble. Everyone knows that the goal of a casino is to take all your money so they can make a profit. Most people know that the slot machines are manipulated in order to payoff a certain amount. If I put in a dollar, I can expect the machine to payoff a certain amount to keep me playing. Every once in a while, the machine will payoff a jackpot. The casinos are not hiding this. They tell you, “These machines have the highest payouts.” Gamblers also know that once a machines hits a jackpot, he might as well find another machine because that machine will not payout anytime soon. In the old days, a winner would perform one more spin just so that other gamblers would not know the machine hit a jackpot, luring other gamblers to it.

Is the casino unethical for setting machines to only win at certain times? No because people already know or suspect this is happening.

Is the player that takes a spin unethical for taking a spin after winning a jackpot so other players will play the slot? No. He wants the machine to restart the count to another jackpot so he can play the machine later.

It might sound like a weird analogy but it’s not. The stock market is the casino of capitalism. Even the most professional stockbrokers know they could lose money at any time.

I’ll go a step further: I don’t blame the Reddit users for screwing around with the stock market, I blame the hedge fund managers for not doing their research. One would think that if a stock goes up 200% maybe one would ask why that is happening. Maybe, the hedge fund managers should have did a little more research before dumping billions of dollars into a stock without knowing what was happening with the stock. If one of those guys had jus read a Reddit post, they would have known what is going on. Or maybe they shouldn’t have just jumped on to this stock, right away, and waited to see what was happening.

So, no, I don’t think this is unethical. It is the risk one takes in the stock market. There is also a chance that the Reddit users could have failed and lost money also.

Was This Immoral?

I never like mixing morality with the stock market. That’s alright, I don’t mix morality with gambling (unless someone has a real problem). But I was asked if what the Reddit users did was moral and right.

I’d have to say no but maybe. Here’s why.

First thing I do is look at the motivation of the Reddit users.

First motivation, they wanted to experiment with manipulating the stock market. They were making an experiment. This, in itself, is not immoral. But remember this line from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet: “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions” (OK, I know it wasn’t really Shakespeare who said this). They did not really research who would be hurt with this manipulation. I’m just not sure this makes what they did immoral based on my gambling analogy.

Second motivation was to screw hedge fund managers. I think this is immoral. They went out to hurt a specific group of people. I think that’s immoral no matter how rich they thought these people were. But, what’s worse, is the hedge fund managers aren’t going to get hurt as much as the casual, uneducated investors. The little guy is going to be the one holding the bucket. The hedge fund managers will get out in time and get a government bailout. It’s the individual that is going to lose their money. Screwing the average Joe, even the professional, I think is immoral.

Finally, they wanted to make money. The Reddit users took a risk, invested money on an experiment and succeeded. I see nothing immoral about this.

The question is if one motivation immoral does this make the entire action immoral? That’s a good question. But, again, I return to my casino analogy. The stock market is a game and it is gambling. One better be ready to deal with the losses. I lost nothing. That’s because I don’t gamble in the stock market. My 401K did not take a nosedive because I invest in preferred stocks. So, in the long run, I don’t think this was immoral. It is just about the motivations of the individual Reddit investor.

Was This a Good Thing for the United States or Capitalism

Two things can be true at once. I think this experiment was really funny and good for these folks for proving a point while working the system to make a ton of money. I do not hold any ill will against people who are clever.

That being said, I don’t think this was a great exercise for capitalism or Wall Street.

  • This screwed to little man. In screwed the casual, uneducated investor who has lost a lot of money.
  • It shows that the stock market has its vulnerabilities. This is inviting governmental regulations on the stock markets.
  • It shows the “evil” and “greed” of capitalism. Watch the Left say this is going to use this to “prove” that they need to change the system.
  • This is another excuse by Big Tech, supported by Democrats, to ban people. Already, that Reedit group was banned. A bunch of online trading apps have banned the trading of GameStop, Blackberry and AMC Theaters, all of which these Reddit users invested in. What was the reason? The group fomented hate speech and violence. What? This is bad. This the excuse Democrats and the Big Tech Bros will always use to limit the freedoms of people.

The last point is an important point. I even heard on Fox News’ The Five, mostly run by Conservatives that this could have been a Right Wing bucking of the system. Maybe, but usually the simple answer is the most accurate. Maybe it was a bunch of millennials with technical and economic experience that just wanted to mess around. Maybe this had nothing to do with overthrowing the system. Maybe these guys just wanted to experiment with the Stock Market.

Not everything, good or bad, must be political. It seems that even Conservatives forget that.

More reaction is coming.

Episode 281 – Prepare to Hunker Down!

Could be a long weekend in Washington DC.

The media continues to “unify”.

Big Tech comes clean.

And I thing Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is a Republican plant.

Could Be a Long Weekend

With a lot of online chatter and the disaster of the attack on Congress last week, police officials are afraid that there may be attacks in Washington DC this weekend all the way to the Inauguration on Wednesday.

Tourist spots like the Washington Monument have been closed due to the threat. There have also been 20,000 – that’s right, 20,000 – National Guard troops. Fencing that is eight feet high is around the White House and the area where the Inauguration will be held.

President Trump, who has been rather quiet lately, released a Twitter video on the Presidential account. Trump said:

“My fellow Americans, I want to speak to you tonight about the troubling events of the past week. As I have said, the incursion of the U.S. Capitol struck at the very heart of our Republic. It angered and appalled millions of Americans across the political spectrum. I want to be very clear: I unequivocally condemn the violence that we saw last week,” Trump began. “Violence and vandalism have absolutely no place in our country and no place in our movement. Making America Great Again has always been about defending the rule of law, supporting the men and women of law enforcement, and upholding our nation’s most sacred traditions and values. Mob violence goes against everything I believe in and everything our movement stands for.”

“No true supporter of mine could ever endorse political violence. No true supporter of mine could ever disrespect law enforcement or our great American flag. No true supporter of mine could ever threaten or harass their fellow Americans. If you do any of these things, you are not supporting our movement. You’re attacking it, and you are attacking our country. We cannot tolerate it,” he continued. “Tragically, over the course of the past year, made so difficult because of COVID-19, we have seen political violence spiral out of control. We have seen too many riots, too many mobs, too many acts of intimidation and destruction. It must stop. Whether you are on the Right, or on the Left, a Democrat or a Republican, there is never a justification for violence. No excuses, no exceptions.”

“America is a nation of laws. Those who engaged in the attacks last week will be brought to justice. Now I am asking everyone who has ever believed in our agenda to be thinking of ways to ease tensions, calm tempers, and help to promote peace in our country,” he continued. “There has been reporting that additional demonstrations are being planned in the coming days, both here in Washington and across the country. I have been briefed by the U.S. Secret Service on the potential threats. Every American deserves to have their voice heard in a respectful and peaceful way. That is your First Amendment right.”

“But I cannot emphasize that there must be no violence, no law-breaking, and no vandalism of any kind. Everyone must follow our laws and obey the instructions of law enforcement. I have directed federal agencies to use all necessary resources to maintain order. In Washington, D.C., we are bringing in thousands of National Guard members to secure the city and ensure that a transition can occur safely and without incident,” he continued. “Like all of you, I was shocked and deeply saddened by the calamity at the Capitol last week. I want to thank the hundreds of millions of incredible American citizens who have responded to this moment with calm, moderation, and grace.”

The president also used the opportunity to address the recent efforts by the political Left and tech companies to censor and cancel people, saying that it was “wrong” and “dangerous” to do so.

“What is needed now is for us to listen to one another, not to silence one another,” he said. “All of us can choose by our actions to rise above the rancor and find common ground and shared purpose. We must focus on advancing the interests of the whole nation, delivering the miracle vaccines, defeating the pandemic, rebuilding the economy, protecting our national security, and upholding the rule of law.”

“Today I am calling on all Americans to overcome the passions of the moment, and join together as one American people,” he concluded. “Let us choose to move forward united, for the good of our families, our communities, and our country. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.”

I wish Trump would have made that statement earlier.

More to come. I find it amazing that the Democrats see this as more of a threat than the $2 billion in damage Antifa and BLM did this summer. But now it’s a Democrat that is being threatened and they are way more important than some loser who owns a shoe store.

The Unifying Media

Biden uses that famous “dog whistle” thing they always say Trump uses. You know, he says we should unify but that is code for we are going to do what we want and you should shut the f- up. Well, the media isn’t hiding it. Nor are the hiding the hatred they have for the Conservatives.

CNN, who no longer will be played in airports, by the way, said that anyone who voted for Donald Trump was a Nazi and a KKK member. It did not matter that people like me and you liked Trump’s policies. It is because we are bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, misogynists, racists who belong to the KKK, Nazis and Proud Boys all at once.

It’s hard to believe the Chris Cuomo is the one trying to calm Don Lemon down here but it’s true. That doesn’t make a Chris Cuomo a hero of Conservatives or anything, but he knows that Lemon is making severely grandiose statement that are very divisive. Listen:

There is so much wrong with what Don Lemon said:

  • People who voted for Trump are not on the side of the Klan. This is a generalization we are going to hear later.
  • People who voted for Trump are not on the side of the Nazis. In fact, the Nazis were fascists and Nazi stands for National Socialist German Workers Party in German. Nazis were Left wingers.
  • Conservatives are principled. We believe in freedom of speech, religion, free press and the ability to protect themselves. We also believe that a baby is a life and don’t want to kill babies.
  • Conservatives don’t believe in concentration camps or slavery. Conservatives ended slavery. because it was wrong. Where were there concentration camps? Germany, the Soviet Union (called Gulags), Cuba and China.
  • Because you like Trump’s policies doesn’t mean you like Trump personally. If someone votes for Trump because they are a KKK member doesn’t mean I voted for Trump because I sympathize with the KKK. I just hate Hilary.
  • I also want to point out.
  • Finally, Richard Spencer, alt-right loon, voted for Joe Biden because Trump wasn’t hard enough on the Jews. Don’t believe me? Look at the link I post.
  • Finally, every Conservative I talked to do not panic about Biden being President and did not support the riots in Congress. We thought it was disgusting just like we saw the BLM and Antifa riots (that caused #2 billion in damage and were encouraged by the Left.

One thing here, I also hate, is the embrace of intersectionality. I want you to remember this because this has happened before and it is dangerous. The Left believes that there is no individual. We are all made up in groups. The break people up into race, sexual orientation, gender (which isn’t a thing), sex, class and, to some extent religion. But anyone on the right has been classified simply as evil, Nazis  white supremacists.

This is the new narrative. All Conservatives are evil, Nazi, racists, white supremacist because they like Trump and there were some mama’s basement dwellers who decided to storm the capital.

We are all evil. So we must be purged. Comforting thought, huh?

At Least They Admit It

Hypocrisy

Here is the hypocrisy of the week.

There is a Presidential election in Uganda. The government of Uganda is afraid of bad information through social media and that it might effect the election. So they decided to block all social media traffic into the country until after the election. One of the companies was…surprise….Twitter.

Twitter Public Policy account posted a tweet:

“Ahead of the Ugandan election, we’re hearing reports that Internet service providers are being ordered to block social media and messaging apps. We strongly condemn internet shutdowns – they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet.”

They ran another tweet a few minutes later:

“Access to information and freedom of expression, including the public conversation on Twitter, is never more important than during democratic processes, particularly elections #UgandaDecides2021 #KeepItOn”

See the irony? This is a company censors material, including an article about a true story about Hunter Biden and closed the President’s account.

Twitter exploded.

What’s good for me is not for thee.

Then Why Did You Do It?

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, said that he didn’t want to ban Trump and even thinks it might be dangerous to do so.

In his statement:

“I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct? I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.”

“That said, having to ban an account has real and significant ramifications. While there are clear and obvious exceptions, I feel a ban is a failure of ours ultimately to promote healthy conversation. And a time for us to reflect on our operations and the environment around us. Having to take these actions fragment the public conversation. They divide us. They limit the potential for clarification, redemption, and learning. And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous: the power an individual or corporation has over a part of the global public conversation.”

So what is he saying? He’s saying that they ware responsible for the “healthy conversation” on Twitter. That “health conversation” is that of the Left and nothing else. That’s not really the issue. He said this because the stock for Twitter is dropping like a rock.

This is going to get worse. You know why I know this. Jack Dorsey said it in a private phone conversation obtained by Project Veritas. Listen:

So, there you have it. I am not even going to bother asking you folks to follow me on Twitter anymore. I have lost 300 subscribers in the last week. That doesn’t sound like a lot but I only had a little over 600.

At Least He’s Honest

Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri said what we all knew: there is bias at Facebook. Instagram is owned by Facebook.

Mosseri said:

“We’re not neutral. No platform is neutral, we all have values and those values influence the decisions we make.”

“We try and be apolitical, but that’s increasingly difficult, particularly in the US where people are more and more polarized.”

The Instagram head was responding to a comment from tech writer Will Oremus regarding Facebook’s announcement of Roy Austin, formerly of the Obama administration, to serve as Facebook’s “VP of Civil Rights.”

“Roy Austin Jr. has been named vice president of civil rights with the mandate to oversee Facebook’s accountability on racial hatred and discrimination on its platform,” reported NPR. “He’s slated to start Jan. 19.”

Will Oremus pointed out on Twitter:

“This feels like the kind of move that Facebook could have made 5+ years ago if it hadn’t been so intent at the time on portraying itself as a neutral platform and promoting online connection as an absolute good.”

Though I don’t think it will happen again in the near future, when the tech bros are called in front of Congress, they better not be telling anyone how neutral they are. It could lead to a perjury charge for them.

AOC Always Says What the Left Thinks

You know, I love AOC. I should put her words on more often or subscribe to her Instagram account because she is where the Democratic Left and gives us an indication of what they are thinking. Believe it or not, AOC is the perfect spy for the Republicans. If I was a politician, I would quote her every word from her.

A council for media literacy? Really? What is the purpose of that, I wonder?

No I don’t wonder. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Democrats are toying with an idea to create a council to determine which news agencies are relevant and which are telling “lies”. “Lies” being defined as anything the Alexandria Ocasio Cortez doesn’t agree with. This is extremely dangerous.

  • First create a council.
  • Next, call people to testify and brow beat them. No debate, mind you.
  • Hopefully catch someone in a lie so the can persecute them for perjury.
  • Finally, find cause to condemn and jail people.

Here’s the thing, the government is not allowed to create any laws that abridge or restrict the press. I didn’t make that up, it’s the first amendment of the Constitution (which Democrats see to keep forgetting). A council like this is made to actually restrict the legitimacy of the press. It would be unconstitutional.

Here’s another genius moment from AOC:

There are a bunch of problems with this but the main one is to vilify anyone who supported Donald Trump. Period.

Supporting Donald Trump was not “drinking the poison of white supremacy”. There is absolutely zero evidence that Donald Trump is a white supremacist and a ton of evidence he actually cares about Americans, no matter their color. His policies helped all Americans, not just white people. That is the poison that has been ingested by AOC, Democrats and the younger generation. The lies of the schools, the media, Hollywood and other institutions corrupted by socialism and it’s ideals. I don’t blame her for being poisoned and being dumb, but I do blame her for not having the courage to actually debate someone who knows what he/she is talking about. She is so arrogant and power hungry she cannot risk have her little world rocked by someone like Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Steven Crowder or Laura Ingram that she would rather suppress those ideas than actually deal with them.

Also, notice that she says, “…you have a lot of work to do. Or maybe we have a lot of work to do”? She’s basically saying that I, who is a Trump supporter, needs to change myself or, maybe, she needs to change me. It has to be by force (curtailing right-wing media, censorship, cancel culture or, dare I say it, prosecution). She could change people’s minds on the right by debating her position and proving that her position is superior. Of course, she won’t be able to do that because her position has never actually succeeded in human history.

Yes, AOC, we’ve had socialism and it has failed every time.

Episode 278 – An So It Begins

“They came first for the communists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t communist
Then they came for the Jews
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionist,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then the came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.”

Martin Niemöller, a German pastor recounting the German Holocaust.

The purge has started and it is big tech that is dropping the hammer.

Time to Join Parler

Twitter announced on Friday afternoon that they have banned President Donald Trump from using their platform due to “risk of further incitement of violence.”

Twitter stated:

This determination is based on a number of factors, including:

  • President Trump’s statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate and is seen as him disavowing his previous claim made via two Tweets (12) by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there would be an “orderly transition” on January 20th.
  • The second Tweet may also serve as encouragement to those potentially considering violent acts that the Inauguration would be a “safe” target, as he will not be attending.
  • The use of the words “American Patriots” to describe some of his supporters is also being interpreted as support for those committing violent acts at the US Capitol.
  • The mention of his supporters having a “GIANT VOICE long into the future” and that “They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!” is being interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an “orderly transition” and instead that he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election.
  • Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.

As such, our determination is that the two Tweets above are likely to inspire others to replicate the violent acts that took place on January 6, 2021, and that there are multiple indicators that they are being received and understood as encouragement to do so.

Trump responded, saying:

“As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me—and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me.”

“Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long.”

“I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!”

“Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely,” Trump continued. “STAY TUNED!”

What crap. What Twitter is doing is not reading the words, for the are not violet or inciteful but are interpreting the words and forming them so they can be construed as violent and inciteful. I also must add that this is a hell of a stretch.

I find it amazing that the social media platforms continue to allow the leaders of Iran, China and Russia use their services and have no trouble with the incitement by Left wing hacks, who actually do say things to incite violence, but they will ban the President of the United States because he doesn’t want to go to the Inauguration.

By the way, did Twitter ban all the Democrats who said they weren’t going to Trump’s Inauguration or piss on them when Left wing protestors did get violent outside the grounds of the Inauguration?

This is just the beginning. We knew it would happen especially when the Democrats took the government. Big tech was going to do whatever the Democrats want.  Republicans could have stopped this but they didn’t. Now the shit sandwich is ready and we are all going to have to take a bite.

By the way, Twitter isn’t the only one banning Trump. So is Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok (which is a Chinese company), Reddit,

What?! They See a Problem with This?

The ACLU released a statement on Friday taking a shot at Trump before suggesting that minorities would end up being affected by Big Tech’s policies surrounding censorship.

“For months, President Trump has been using social media platforms to seed doubt about the results of the election and to undermine the will of voters. We understand the desire to permanently suspend him now, but it should concern everyone when companies like Facebook and Twitter wield the unchecked power to remove people from platforms that have become indispensable for the speech of billions – especially when political realities make those decisions easier. President Trump can turn to his press team or Fox News to communicate with the public, but others – like the many Black, Brown, and LGBTQ activists who have been censored by social media companies – will not have that luxury. It is our hope that these companies will apply their rules transparently to everyone.”

This is good. The ACLU is not a friend to the President or Conservatives and I have never cared for the, but the have always been for free speech until about two years ago. This was a group that defended a neo-Nazi group’s right to march in the south. A couple of years ago, they went full Left wing and would not defend Conservative principles anymore. But, seeing what is happening in social media, they are a little afraid of what could happen if the tech tyrants start getting rid of people with some BS and vague rules and policies. And it’s all being done to one side.

Even the Left leaning ACLU thinks this is dangerous.

Did I say, “Time to Join Parler”?

Parler is a social network site much like Twitter. The difference is they allow for free speech and will not suspend people for saying controversial things like men can’t be women and stuff like this (I was suspended for “dead naming” on Twitter already). Parler is seen as an alternative site for Conservatives afraid of getting banned or suspended by Twitter because of their views.

Megacompany Apple is threatening to remove social networking service Parler from its App Store unless the company starts moderating its platform more harshly.

“We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021 that led (among other things) to loss of life, numerous injuries, and the destruction of property,” Apple wrote in the letter. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

Apple then made its threat, “to ensure there is no interruption of the availability of your app on the App Store,” demanding Parler update its app and submit to Apple a “requested moderation improvement plan within 24 hours of the date of the message.”

Parler CEO John Matze said:

“We will not cave to pressure from anti-competitive actors! We will and always have enforced our rules against violence and illegal activity. But we WONT cave to politically motivated companies and those authoritarians who hate free speech!”

“Anyone who buys an Apple phone is apparently a user. Apperently [sic] they know what is best for you by telling you which apps you may and may not use.”

Google has already removed the app from the Google Store. By the way, Trump does not, as of yet have an account on Parler so they are just attacking them because they won’t go along with Apple’s and Google’s terms of use.

By the way, I’ll just mention this again: Apple produces the iPhone, iPad and Mac Books in China using slave wages that is supported by the communist government then, sell you their product for a 1000x over production value. Yeah, I don’t think Apple has the moral high ground.

Google was working with the Chinese government to limit what people could see or search and has been working with them in creating a surveillance system so they can monitor their systems.

But it’s gotten worse. Amazon was hosting Parler on their AWS platforms. They gave Parlet 24 hours to come up with some sort of moderation standards. Parler didn’t and Amazon shut them down. To this moment, Parler is still down.

That is scary. That someone’s business can be blackballed like that. But it is happening today. Parler is suing and they will probably win but it’ll take years.

It’s Not Just Social Media Being Attacked

It’s not just Donald Trump that is getting attacked here. This is part of the reason I added the poem to the beginning of the post.

So far, Trump has been banned from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Reddit and TikTok.

Companies Stripe and Paypal have banned payments of any kind to Trump’s campaign store. This is scary when one can be banned from making financial transactions because of a political point of view, even a wrong one. None of these companies banned donations allowing from freeing rioters over the summer led by Kamala Harris. Remember the rioters that caused $2 billion in damage.

Last week, Jason Lee, was blocked from entering a film studio so that he could try out for a Fox Business news show. The excuse is that he is on a “list”. No one really knows what the list is but we have suspicions.

A host of American corporations have announced that they are halting donations to Republican members of Congress who on Jan. 6 objected to certifying the Electoral College votes cast for President-elect Joe Biden. Those corporations include: American Express, AT&T, Amazon, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Commerce Bank, Dow Chemical, Marriott, and Mastercard. These are private companies and they can donate to who the want but I’ll remind you that they never did the same thing to Democrats who supported the BLM/Antifa riots over the summer.

The Washington Post reported on the alleged memo from Cumulus, a syndicate that owns 416 radio stations in the United States, on Jan. 11. The memo purportedly threatened to fire conservative hosts who fail to tone down discussions about election fraud. A number of left-wing media outlets picked up the story. The company supposedly targeted Conservative talk show hosts Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin and Dan Bongino. All three denied getting the letter and Cumulus has not responded to inquiries.

According to the Daily Wire and reported on by Tucker Carlson on Fox News:

Following Big Tech’s censorship of President Donald Trump in his last days of office, CNN’s media reporter Oliver Darcy has suggested cable providers do something similar to conservative voices.

Darcy, who routinely writes up alleged bias at Fox News and other right-leaning networks and publications, insisted that the most-watched news channel (Fox routinely beats Darcy’s employer CNN) spent months spreading disinformation about the November election results.

“We regularly discuss what the Big Tech companies have done to poison the public conversation by providing large platforms to bad-faith actors who lie, mislead, and promote conspiracy theories. But what about TV companies that provide platforms to networks such as Newsmax, One America News — and, yes, Fox News?” Darcy wrote in CNN’s “Reliable Sources” newsletter.

So, now CNN, who always gets their ass kicked by Fox News, wants televisions companies to stop carrying news stations that do not agree with the mainstream. Tell me this isn’t scary.

These are just a few instances and within a week of Democrats taking full control of the government. This isn’t going to stop. It’s going to get worse.

Not Everyone Thinks Banning Trump is a Great Idea

A lot of people don’t think that it was a great idea for the Big Tech tyrants to ban Trump. And they are coming from places that are a little surprising.

Alexei Navalny, a Russian dissident who was supposedly poisoned by Vladimir Putin, tweeted:

“Don’t tell me he was banned for violating Twitter rules. I get death threats here every day for many years, and Twitter doesn’t ban anyone (not that I ask for it).”

“Among the people who have Twitter accounts are cold-blooded murderers (Putin or Maduro) and liars and thieves (Medvedev). For many years, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have been used as a base for Putin’s ‘troll factory’ and similar groups from other authoritarian countries.”

“Of course, Twitter is a private company, but we have seen many examples in Russian and China of such private companies becoming the state’s best friends and the enablers when it comes to censorship.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that banning President Donald Trump from Twitter is “problematic,” her spokesman said on Jan. 11.

Merkel’s spokesman said:

“This fundamental right can be intervened in, but according to the law and within the framework defined by legislators—not according to a decision by the management of social media platforms. Seen from this angle, the chancellor considers it problematic that the accounts of the U.S. president have now been permanently blocked.”

Clement Beaune, the junior minister for European Union affairs, said he was “shocked” a private company made this kind of decision.

Bueune said:

“This should be decided by citizens, not by a CEO. There needs to be public regulation of big online platforms.”

Manfred Weber, the leader of the European People’s Party—a centre-right political party—echoed Beaune and called for Big Tech firms to be regulated.

Weber said:

“We cannot leave it to American Big Tech to decide how we can or cannot discuss online. Today’s mechanisms destroy the compromise searching and consensus-building that are crucial in free and democratic societies. We need a stricter regulatory approach.”

Meanwhile, Norway’s left-wing Labor Party leader Jonas Gahr Støre said

“This is a line where freedom of expression is also at stake. If Twitter starts with this sort of thing, it means that they have to go around the world and look at other people completely astray, and shut them out.”

Acting Prime Minister from Australia, Michael McCormack said:

“There’s been a lot of people who have said and done a lot of things on Twitter previously that haven’t received that sort of condemnation or indeed censorship. I’m not one who believes in that sort of censorship.”

Mexican President Manuel López Obrador:

A “court of censorship like an inquisition to manage public opinion.”

“I don’t like anybody being censored or taking away from the right to post a message on Twitter or Face(book),”

Do you know why all these other countries, countries that do censor and regulate speech, are saying this is a really bad thing? That’s because the United States is the bastion of freedom that all these countries aspire to be. And with the United States gives them hope that this experiment can be successful.

Oh Marty, Say It Ain’t So

Martin Luther King Jr. is not a saint. So what? The slow crawl of censorship moves forward. Trump gets a big win! And perversion gets a big hug from the Left.

So What?

Some bad news came out about Martin Luther King Jr. This news is actually not news but the media is making it news. Apparently, MLK wasn’t the greatest of human beings…personally. He loved women and cheated. He was involved in group sex, while married. He was even in a motel room while another man was “raping” a woman. I put that in quotes because I just read about it and didn’t hear the transcript. Let me give you the story and then talk about the controversy. Once that’s done, I’ll explain why it’s not a controversy.

When MLK was pushing for the abolition of the Jim Crow laws, he was very rocking the boat. Racism was systemic. And King wanted to blow that out. Since racism was systemic, the FBI wanted to silence King. They did this by trying to dig up dirt on him through spying. This isn’t new; J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI director at the time, monitored everybody including the Kennedy family. Finally, after fifty to sixty years, information was released about MLK.

The information includes MLK was a philanderer. He participated in group sex. He beat women. He beat his wife. But, the worst, he was in the same room while one of his minions was raping a woman.

Oh, the emotion!

OK, let’s pull emotion out of this and really break this down.

First off, everyone knew MLK was a womanizer. This is not in doubt. His wife said it. It was in a movie that made him out into a hero (the movie, called Selma, is awesome). He wasn’t the only man who tried to make the world good that did it. John F. Kennedy used to travel to other countries to have sex with hookers. He slept with Marilyn Monroe. Bill Clinton, who was an iffy President at best, got blown in the Oval Office (and that’s the least that he did). Ronald Reagan was an alcoholic and and cheated on his wives. Hell, he ended up divorced a few times because he cheated on his wives. J. Edgar Hoover was gay and a transvestite and he was responsible for having crap on people.

These are crappy arguments, I know. This is what-aboutism. But stay with me. I’m going somewhere with this.

We are living in a world where people are tearing down statues of the Founding Fathers. Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Andrew Jackson (he really wasn’t a great guy) all had slaves. Street names are being changed, statues are being torn down or removed, even the names of schools are being changed all because these men were slave owners. Though immoral, at the time, this was the practice. Should we be tearing down the statues of Martin Luther King Jr., changing the names of the streets he was named after and getting rid of his holiday?

Of course not. Just like we shouldn’t be doing it with the others I have mention. Martin Luther King, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were all great men who had great accomplishments. Those accomplishments include freeing ourselves from the oppressive King of England, establishing a government that acknowledged our inalienable rights, created the capitalist economic system that has made this country the richest and most technologically advanced civilization in the history of the world and ended the scar of our history, the Jim Crow Laws, establishing that race differences have nothing to do with societal class. This stuff is so important and we can’t let personal failures ignore the societal impact that their activism had.

Here’s my story: Martin Luther King Jr. was personally flawed. Like we all are. Maybe he wasn’t a great man to his wife. But he was a great man to this country. And he should be celebrated. Just like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson (I don’t like Andrew Jackson).

SOCIAL MEDIA WAR!!!

Outspoken comedian and conservative, Steven Crowder, got into a war with a Left wing Vox activist over things Crowder said about him. The gentleman’s name is named Carlos Maza. He is a gay Latino that also has his own YouTube channel. Well, being a Leftist, gay and Latino is way too much for Crowder to hold back. So several times over the last year, Crowder would make fun of Maza. Well, Maza through a temper tantrum. He and Vox decided it was time to have Crowder deplatformed. So the called out YouTube and said that Crowder was abusing him.

There was just one problem: YouTube could not find any violations of their agreements. But that was not good enough for Maza and Vox. They complained again and, folding under some unfounded pressure. YouTube decided to demonetize Crowder’s YouTube channel. Crowder, through his lawyer, decided to find out why. He wasn’t give any reason. They said there were a few videos that had some questionable videos. But, when pushed by Crowder’s lawyer, YouTube said they would send a list. And they never have. They also complained about a T-shirt that Crowder sells. The “Socialism for Figs” T-shirt could not be referenced in the YouTube description of Crowder videos.

Yeah, I know. He doesn’t mean “figs” but that is not a “a” between the “f” and “g”. It’s a fig.

I watch the Steven Crowder show on YouTube. I love his Change My Mind series. It’s a great show. And he’s rough on people. He doesn’t ever hold back. He calls his lawyer, who is frequently on the show his “half-Asian lawyer.” He calls his producer “Not gay Jared” and “Quarter Black Jared” (I think it’s Jared). He’s called Ben Shapiro a “greedy shekel hoarder.” he’s not reverent for sure. But he’s hardly mean. It’s all done for the purposes of comedy. Below is his “apology” for hurting all the feeling he has hurt over the year. It is hysterical and you will get the idea of the kind of show he has.

He’s a pretty funny guy. If one appreciates that type of humor. Guess what? I do.

But there are bigger problems here. First, these social media platforms, which claim to places where free speech is embraced, are really hammering down on conservative voices. But, what’s worse, they’re doing it when those conservative voices aren’t actually breaking any rules. That’s bad. They are also beating conservatives up simply because Left-leaning groups have their “feelings” hurt. Vox and Maza didn’t want Crowder demonetized. They wanted him deplatformed. They wanted him censored. They don’t like what he says. Insulting a public figure, like Maza, is not uncommon. You’re a public figure and you will have a target on your back from those who don’t agree with you. But conservatives seem to get nailed by the platform whenever someone gets his feelings hurt. Hey, Louis Farrakhan was never suspended from Twitter when he compared Jews to cockroaches. But I got suspended when I called Bradley Manning, a traitor and trans-woman, a “him”. He frigging deserves it.

Censorship is always gradual. And dangerous. When only one message is out there, it is no longer entertainment but indoctrination. We already have that in the public schools, the news media and the entertainment industry. When regular people through social media platforms who have any conservative opinions are banned, what’s left?

OK, I Lied

A bigger news story came out tonight. I promised, in a flash podcast yesterday, that I was going to talk about some awesome books. Changed my mind since this is getting long.

Apparently, Donald Trump’s tariffs have worked.

Last week, Trump, using the only weapon he has, said he would place tariffs on Mexico if they did not help in trying to get these Central American migrants to stay in Central America. Tariffs on Mexico would kill them. And it wouldn’t help us (avocados are already expensive). This seemed to a feint by Trump to get Mexico to comply. Well it worked.

Mexico sent six thousand troops to their southern border and seem to agree to harbor asylum seekers within Mexico. The paperwork has been signed and the tariff threat has been averted.

This is a big win from Trump and makes Congress look far more worthless.

Oh… My… God…!

There’s a video flying around Twitter that is just flipping a lot of people out. I can’t find the video on YouTube but I’ll give you example.

Dude, this is so f-ing wrong, I don’t have words for it.

The video on Twitter is of a dozen kids acting like this. And all the people, including the parents, are laughing and enjoying watching these troubled children dancing around some coffee house in New York.

WTF!!! This is terrible! This is child abuse! This is Gender Dysphoria! Not only are these very ill kids not getting help, they’re being encouraged!

Need to calm down. Here’s the thing: I had four kids and there are a ton of challenges. But we disciplined out kids when got them help when they needed it. And, just to be clear, I have a daughter who is married to another woman. I do not have a problem with a child who is gay. But if my daughter came to me at eleven and said she was gay, I would tell her to wait. She may not be. Gender Dysphoria used to be in the DSM-5 but is no longer there, you guessed it, because of political correctness, not science.

The human mind is not mature. The prefrontal cortex, which controls emotion and reaction, which makes one think before action, is not matured until the age of around twenty-six. An eleven year old is not mature enough to make a decision like this. That eleven year old needs counselling and needs to understand who he/she is. It’s physical, it’s science.

Next, this isn’t normal. It’s abnormal and anti-social. This is not diversity. Should we be diverse with those with bi-polar disorder? Should we be diverse with the schizophrenic? Should we be diverse with the sociopaths or psychopaths? No! we should fix them before they harm someone. Why does our society always accept perversions as normal.

It’s sick. History is going to piss on this era.
