Trump keeps winning but I am still a tad nervous.
Rosie O’ Donnell makes a big move … literally.
And a government shutdown looms.
Big Wins, But…
Trump had some big wins this week:
- Inflation has cooled to 2.8%.
- Eggs have gone down.
- Gas has gone down.
- The Department of Education is cutting 50% of their staff. They just need to figure our what 50% of 4100 employees is.
Good Riddance
According to the Daily Wire:
Rosie O’Donnell finally confirmed rumors that she moved out of the United States following President Donald Trump’s victory as she called out legacy media for not doing their job.
In a nearly ten-minute long video posted on Tuesday on TikTok, the 62-year-old TV personality/comedian and vocal supporter of the Democratic Party said on January 15, before Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, she and her 12-year-old daughter Dakota — who now goes by Clay — moved to Ireland.
“It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming and I’m very grateful,” O’Donnell said, noting that she decided to move because it “would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child.”

Trump Wants the Chance
According to the Daily Wire:
On Tuesday, the GOP-led House narrowly passed another stopgap bill to prevent a partial government shutdown by the end of this week, marking a victory for President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
The 99-page continuing resolution, which provides funds to various federal agencies and programs through September 30, prevailed in a 217-213 vote. All but one Republican and a single Democrat — Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) — supported the measure. The rest of the Democrats and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) opposed the bill.
“For years, House Democrats have railed against government shutdowns, but they suddenly changed their tune when President Trump returned to office,” Johnson said on X. “Their falsehoods and misinformation campaigns are a desperate attempt to distract from their own failures. Despite these tactics, President Trump and Congressional Republicans will stop at nothing to deliver on the mandate given by the American people.”
Now the continuing resolution heads to the Republican-controlled Senate, where Democrats could filibuster the measure. Blocking it as such could lead to a partial shutdown in which non-essential federal employees will be furloughed beginning on March 15.
It was not clear heading into the afternoon whether the continuing resolution would have enough votes to prevail in the House, in which the Republicans have a slim 218-214 majority. There were a handful of GOP holdouts, but they came around in the final hours before the vote. As part of the effort to rally support for the measure, Vice President JD Vance paid a visit to Capitol Hill to deliver a closing pitch to House Republicans and Trump worked the phones.
Brought Back to Reality
According to the Daily Wire:
Ukraine agreed to accept a 30-day ceasefire today following negotiations with Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Saudi Arabia today. Russia has not yet agreed to the deal.
Rubio, who announced the deal upon the conclusion of negotiations, said the ceasefire is a first step to larger negotiations to create an enduring peace.
“Today we made an offer that the Ukrainians accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that is enduring and sustainable and accounts for their interests, their stability, and their ability to prosper as a nation,” Rubio said.
In a joint statement by the United States and Ukraine, leaders called the negotiations “steps toward restoring durable peace for Ukraine.”
Ukraine agreed to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire which could be extended by mutual agreement, pending Russian approval and implementation.
Rubio said the ball is now in Russia’s court.
“We hope that they will say yes to peace,” Rubio said. “The ball is now in their court.”

Another Win!
According to the Daily Wire:
Canada backed down from its threat to impose a 25% surcharge on electricity coming into the Unites States after President Donald Trump said he would double tariffs on Canada’s steel and aluminum products.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Tuesday that he had agreed to suspend the electricity import surcharge after speaking with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, which the two called a “productive conversation” in a joint statement.
Ford and Lutnick said they plan to meet on Thursday to discuss renewing the trade deal between the United States, Canada, and Mexico that Trump signed during his first term ahead of April 2, when the United States plans to impose reciprocal tariffs on almost every country.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump ripped Canada in a post on Truth Social, saying new 50% tariffs on steel and aluminum would take effect Wednesday morning.
Ontario supplies electricity to Minnesota, New York, and Michigan. Trump said he would declare a national emergency for the areas Ontario is targeting with the electricity surcharge.

Good Move
According to the Daily Wire:
Education Department staff have been told not to come into work on Wednesday as speculation swirls about whether President Donald Trump will shutter the department.
All offices will be temporarily closed for “security reasons” starting Tuesday evening, and staff are instructed to take their laptops with them and leave their office buildings at 6 p.m., according to a memo sent to all Education Department employees.
Also, “reduction in force” notices for Education Department staff are expected to go out at 6 p.m., and nearly half the department is expected to be eliminated, according to Semafor.
The office buildings are scheduled to reopen on Thursday, but the move is reportedly an unusual one for the department.
The memo to staff comes as the Trump administration mulls shutting down the Education Department. Last week, the draft of a potential executive order closing the department circulated.
The draft would direct Education Secretary Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department” to the “maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.”
The department has already placed dozens of its around 4,500 staffers on leave. It also recently terminated over $600 million in grants for training teachers in “divisive ideologies” including social justice activism, anti-racism, and recruiting teachers based on race.
Dumbass of the Day
Great News
According to the New York Post:
The Menendez brothers won’t be going free anytime soon if LA’s hard-bitten new district attorney gets his way.
Prosecutor Nathan Hochman refused to support the resentencing of Lyle and Eric Menendez — because the infamous brothers have “lied to everyone for the last 30 years.”
Hochman on Monday asked a court to to withdraw his predecessor’s motion to resentence the killer kin and make them eligible for parole after they executed their parents with shotguns in 1989.
“The Menendez brothers have never come clean and admitted that they lied about their self-defense,” Hochman said at a press conference.
“We are requesting that the prior district attorney’s motion for resentencing be withdrawn.”
He also blasted their attempts to get out of prison — suggesting that they need to “come clean” about what really happened in their family’s Beverley Hills mansion before he could consider supporting their resentencing.
A resentencing hearing on March 20 will go ahead as planned but now without his predecessor George Gascón’s recommendation to lighten their current sentences of life in prison without parole and resentence them to 50 years to life.
With the more than 30 years they’ve already spent behind bars, Gascon’s resentencing request would’ve made them immediately eligible for parole.
Lyle and Erik Menendez, 57 and 54, have long claimed that they pumped their parents Jose and Kitty full of birdshot on an August night 35 years ago because they were fearful their abusive father might kill them.
Their case recently became a cause celebre among the true crime set in recent months after a Netflix documentary and new evidence that they were sexually abused by their father.
They’ve since gone as high as Gov. Gavin Newsom to seek clemency for the murders and appeared to be looking at freedom thanks to former ex-DA Gascón’s push to review their sentences.
But Hochman — who booted soft-on-crime Gascón from office in the November election – was unimpressed by their pleas.
“The basis for that request is that the prior motion did not examine or consider whether the Menendez brothers have exhibited full insight and taken complete responsibility for their crimes by continuing for the past over 30 years to lie about their claims of self-defense,” Hochman said.
He offered a blistering assessment of the case against the brothers during the conference Monday, highlighting at least 16 times the brothers had lied about the murders.
Those lies began with the 911 call they first placed shortly after killing their parents, Hochman explained, and carried on through their two trials and into their incarceration.
The brothers have been behind bars almost continuously since they were arrested in 1990.
Their first trial ended in a mistrial over a deadlocked jury in 1994, but two years later they were found guilty of first-degree murder.
