Episode 1077 – We Are Still the Big Boy on the Block!

Federal district judges continue to over-steps their boundaries.

And the United States shows the world (and Iran) that it is still the big boy on the block.

It Will Be Better Late Than Never

According to Perplexity:

Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate and prominent pro-Palestinian activist, was released from federal immigration detention in Louisiana on June 20, 2025, after a federal judge ordered his release on bail while his immigration proceedings continue123

Khalil, a legal permanent resident of the United States, had been detained for more than three months (104 days) following his arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in New York in early March567.

The decision to release Khalil was made by U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz, who determined that Khalil was not a flight risk, posed no threat to the community, and that his detention was “highly unusual” for a lawful permanent resident127

The judge rejected the government’s arguments for continued detention, which had included allegations that Khalil’s presence in the U.S. could cause “potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences” and claims he provided false information on his green card application237

Judge Farbiarz also suggested that the government might be using immigration charges to punish Khalil for his activism2.

Khalil’s release was met with celebration among supporters and his family. He missed the birth of his first child while in detention and was denied temporary release to attend the birth, though he was allowed a brief visit with his newborn son last month157. Upon his return to New York, Khalil was reunited with his wife and child, and he has vowed to continue his pro-Palestinian activism despite ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to deport him468.

Amnesty International and other human rights organizations have criticized Khalil’s detention as unjust and emblematic of broader efforts to suppress solidarity with Palestinians and weaponize the immigration system against activists8. Khalil’s legal team and supporters argue he was targeted for his political speech and peaceful assembly, rights protected under U.S. and international law89.

The Trump administration has indicated it will appeal the judge’s decision to release Khalil, maintaining that there was no basis for a New Jersey judge to order his release from a Louisiana facility1. Khalil’s bail conditions restrict his travel to several states and require him to attend all immigration proceedings1.

The End Is Near

B-2 Stealth Bomber Mission

Operation Midnight Hammer featured the largest B-2 bomber mission in U.S. military history, with seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers flying an 18-hour transcontinental mission from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.12

The mission employed sophisticated deception tactics, with a decoy formation flying westward into the Pacific while the actual strike package moved eastward toward Iran.34 To maintain tactical surprise, the bombers operated with minimal communications and required multiple in-flight refuelings before reaching their targets.2

The B-2 bombers delivered 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator “bunker buster” bombs, each weighing approximately 13,000kg, specifically designed to destroy hardened underground facilities like Iran’s Fordow nuclear site.34

The precision strike began at 6:40 p.m. Eastern Time when the lead bomber dropped the first two bunker busters, with the remaining aircraft delivering their payloads over a 25-minute window.5

The operation’s success was highlighted by the fact that Iran’s air defenses failed to detect the incoming bombers, with no surface-to-air missiles fired at the American aircraft.

GBU-57 Massive Ordinance Penetrator

The GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) is a 30,000-pound (13,600 kg) precision-guided “bunker buster” designed specifically to destroy deeply buried, hardened targets like Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility.12

This specialized weapon can penetrate approximately 200 feet (61 meters) of earth or 59 feet (18 meters) of reinforced concrete before detonating its massive 5,342-pound (2,423 kg) explosive payload consisting of AFX-757 and polymer-bonded explosives optimized for confined spaces.23

The bomb’s casing is crafted from high-density Eglin steel alloy engineered to withstand extreme penetration stresses, while its guidance system combines GPS and inertial navigation for precision targeting.23

The B-2 Spirit is currently the only aircraft capable of delivering the MOP, with each bomber able to carry two of these massive weapons.124 If a single bomb cannot reach the intended target depth, multiple MOPs can be dropped in sequence, effectively “drilling” deeper with each successive blast.1 First developed through a partnership between the Air Force and Defense Threat Reduction Agency in 2004, the weapon received its combat debut during Operation Midnight Hammer against Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22, 2025.25 The forthcoming B-21 Raider is also expected to be capable of carrying this.

Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan

The Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, buried 80-110 meters deep inside a mountain near Qom, was the most critical target in Operation Midnight Hammer due to its heavily fortified nature and suspected role in Iran’s nuclear weapons program.12

Unlike the Natanz facility (which was struck in Israel’s initial assault), Fordow was specifically designed to withstand airstrikes and housed advanced IR-6 centrifuges capable of rapidly enriching uranium to higher purity levels.34

The facility gained particular international concern in March 2023 when the IAEA discovered uranium particles enriched to 83.7% purity—dangerously close to the 90% weapons-grade threshold.31

The Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center, also targeted in the operation, was crucial for metallic uranium production, while satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies had revealed unusual ground activities at Fordow in the days immediately preceding the U.S. strikes.56 Military analysts had long assessed that destroying Fordow would require either U.S. support with GBU-57 penetrators or sustained Israeli strikes with smaller payloads, as the facility’s underground positioning made it virtually impervious to conventional bombing.12 The three facilities collectively represented the backbone of Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities, with Fordow specifically believed to be the site where Iran could potentially increase enrichment from 60% to the 90% weapons-grade level.

Democratic Response

AOC is now calling for Trump to be impeached.

John Fetterman was the voice of reason. He tweeted on X:

As I’ve long maintained, this was the correct move by

@POTUS. Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and cannot have nuclear capabilities. I’m grateful for and salute the finest military in the world

I’m grateful for and salute the finest military in the world.

Of Course Celebrities Have to Weight In

Other celebrities that are flipping out:

  • NFL star Robert Griffin III said this is a start to World War III.
  • Natasha Cloud calls for Trump’s impeachment after US strikes Iranian nuclear facilities.
  • Amy Lou Wood, a British actress known for her role in The White Lotus, posted on Instagram early Sunday condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s praise of President Trump following the strike. She wrote, “I feel sick,” and shared critical messages from politicians and commentators, including a graphic that read, “Bombing for peace is like f***ing for virginity.” She also inadvertently reposted a message from a parody account impersonating Quentin Tarantino.
