Bad Numbers…Again

Joe Biden decided to celebrate the jobs report from September and held a speech today. Here are the highlights:

Some things:

• His speech was 14 minutes.
• He celebrated that unemployment went down.
• He said salaries were up but never mentioned that inflation is still ahead of salary growth.
• he talked about how well he is doing with COVID. Reality is there have been more deaths this year than all of last year.
• He compared the economy to last year, but not before the pandemic hit. There, the numbers aren’t good.
• He tried selling his spending bills.
• He took no questions.

Yeah, so which is right?

I think it is easy to say we are in stagflation. That means that prices are going up while innovation, employment and salaries are staying the same or going down.

• The economy added 194,000 jobs, well below the predicted 500,000.
• Notice, the speculators keep dropping their predictions? They went from 900,000 to 800,000 to 700,000 to 500,000 and still overshoot it.
• The jobs gains in August were revised up to 366,000 from 235,000.
• The unemployment rate lowered to 4.8%. That’s good.
• Salaries are up but artificially. Businesses have to pay more to get people to work and that’s not working.
• Bad news, we still have 10 million available and people aren’t looking for work even after the extended unemployment benefits have ended last month.
• Today, Biden made a speech about it. I haven’t heard it yet.

What Joe is trying to push is, not the crappy job he’s doing, but that we need to let him f-up more so that he can fix the economy.

 

Biden’s Poll Number Tanking

Biden’s poll numbers are falling like a rock. They are now lower than Trump’s worst poll numbers during his presidency.

• His poll numbers are at 38% approval rate.
• This is down from 42% last month.
• 80% of Democrats approve. That’s high but it is down.
• 32% of Independents approve. That’s way down. Remember, he won the Presidency because of Independents.
• The Virginia gubernatorial vote is coming up. This could be a real sign of how Dems will do in 2022.
• Even CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post are panicking.

 

Censorship…Again

Google is at it again with its censorship push.

According to Fox Business:

The ban applies to “content that contradicts the well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change,” Google, the world’s largest digital-ad company by revenue, said in a blog post Thursday. It also applies to any content denying that human activity or greenhouse gas emissions contribute to climate change.

I have some thoughts about this:

• Climate science is not science.
  • Science is a process. The scientific method, which is how science works, cannot be applied to climate “science”.
  • We only have about 150 years of climate data.
  • Today, meteorologists can only accurately determine weather for five days accurately. How are “climate scientists” going to determine the weather 10 or 20 or 30 or a 100 years from now.
  • All the “science” is based on computer models. In other words, they guess.
• Wouldn’t it be better if:
  • Cut our emissions by innovation and technology created by the private sector than by regulation that will bring us back into the 18th century?
  • Isn’t the climate something that is ever changing?
  • Maybe we should, instead of trying to prevent change, we should deal with the change.

The Wild, Wild Midwest

Chicago is a mess. They are looking at setting records for murders and shootings this year. That’s a real accomplishment since the record was broken last year and the year before that.

There was a shooting involving five gang members from two different factions of the Four Corner Hustler gangs. One person ended up dead and two were injured. The police had enough information to arrest the individuals and charge one with first degree murder and the others with assault with a deadly weapon. They also probably would have gotten extra time for crime being committed due to illegal gang activity.

The absolutely terrible prosecutor of Chicago, Kim Foxx, said there was not enough evidence and, since the gang members were shooting at each other, the gang members are considered “mutual combatants” and there should be no charges. No charges were files and all of the suspects were released.

The more miserable mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, is furious over the decision. She said:

If they do not feel like the criminal justice system is going to hold them accountable, we’re going to see a level of brazenness that will send this city into chaos. And we cannot let that happen.

It’s complicated, for sure, but we really urge the state’s attorney herself to get personally involved, look at the evidence. And I believe that there are charges that can be brought at a minimum against the individuals who initiated the gunfire. We can’t live in a world where there’s no accountability.

Foxx, who is a Leftist and treats crime as a political opportunity, thinks all white people are racist and all black criminals as underprivileged and wants to defund the police, said:

The mayor, as a former prosecutor, knows of the ethical obligations of the prosecutor, which is to only bring forth charges where the evidence and the law support it.

I don’t play politics. We do prosecutions. And it’s why we do our best to not engage in public conversations about cases because we recognize that as tragic and horrific as these incidents are, that if we want to see criminal justice and accountability, we do that in the courtroom.

This would be a commendable statement if it weren’t for the fact that Foxx never seems to take any criminal to court. Don’t forget she let Jussie Smollett go.

Showing all her leadership ability, Lightfoot called for the federal government to get involved. This is the chaos that Leftist cities embrace. Then they blame someone else and ask for help from the federal government when their lack of leadership can’t deal with the chaos.

Is it a wonder that the CDC released a report that homicide is at its highest point in 100 years? In a report, the CDC said that homicide is the highest since 1904, 1905.

Sportswomen of the Year?

The transgender female weightlifter, Laurel Hubbard, that tanked in the weightlifting competition this summer has been named “Sportswoman of the Year” by New Zealand’s University of Otago.

Why? I don’t know:

• He got his ass kicked at the Olympics.
• He obviously isn’t a great weightlifter.
• He’s a man and has been for most of his life!

The university said in a statement:

“We acknowledge that gender identity in sport is a highly sensitive and complex issue requiring a balance between human rights and fairness on the field of play. The New Zealand team is committed to supporting all eligible New Zealand athletes at the Olympic Games, ensuring their mental and physical wellbeing as they compete on the world stage.”

Hubbard said:

“It is not possible for athletes to complete at the Olympic level without the encouragement and aroha of friends, family and supporters. This award belongs to everyone who has been part of my Olympic journey.”

Maori term means “compassion” or “love.”

The International Olympic Committee has been put in a really bad position because of Hubbard. None of the female athletes, including the medalists at the Olympics, had anything to say about the “historic” consequences of a man competing against women. They seemed kind of annoyed. They allowed Hubbard to compete a week before the competition. According to the AP:

“The IOC will release a new ‘framework’ for transgender athletes’ eligibility in the coming months. That document is expected to take into account newer scientific studies published since the last major review in 2015. That will form a basis for sports to draw up their own updated policies.”

New “scientific studies”? What scientific studies are actually going to prove that a man can be a woman? A blood test will prove everything.

Here’s some bad news from those transphobes at the United Kingdom’s Sports Councils Equality Group. The report stated:

“Current research indicates that testosterone suppression does not negate this physical advantage over females and so cannot guarantee competitive fairness and/or safety.”

They also added:

“[T]here appears to be a retention of physical capacity in transgender people who suppress testosterone from male levels. Such physical differences will also impact on safety parameters in sports which are combat, collision or contact in nature.”

Duh!

“[Sports governing bodies] may choose to offer sport in which the female category is protected for reasons of competitive fairness and/or safety if they are gender affected. These sports would offer both a female category and an open category. Female entries would be required to declare themselves as recorded female at birth. An open category would be available for any competitor to enter.”

So, basically, create a transgender league. In other words, create a competitive division for men who can’t compete with men. This is so dumb. Hubbard, who competed as a man until he was 35 years old, couldn’t compete with the men. He became a woman and now we find he can’t compete with the women. That’s how bad he is at weightlifting.

What a waste of time to stay woke.
