Episode 753 – What Did She Think People were Going to Do?

I need to start listening to more Beach Boys.

Bed rotting is a thing and we need to force our kids to get out of bed.

And we have another example of Face Tattoo Syndrome

News

Here is some news:

  • Biden’s order specifies that no more than 3,000 total members can be activated at any one time, of whom no more than 450 may be members of the Individual Ready Reserve, which consists of trained soldiers who have previously served in the Active Army or Selected Reserve.
    • “By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America . . . I hereby determine that it is necessary to augment the active Armed Forces of the United States for the effective conduct of Operation Atlantic Resolve in and around the United States European Command’s area of responsibility.”
    • Operation Atlantic Resolve is an initiative that was launched in the wake of Russia’s 2014 invasion of the Crimean Peninsula, designed to enhance the deterrence posture along the eastern flank of the US’s NATO allies.
  • Joe Biden has decided to go out and violate the Constitution and the Supreme Court ruling on student loan forgiveness.
    • The U.S. Department of Education announced Friday it “will begin notifying more than 804,000 borrowers that they have a total of $39 billion in Federal student loans that will be automatically discharged in the coming weeks.”
    • U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in a statement: “For far too long, borrowers fell through the cracks of a broken system that failed to keep accurate track of their progress towards forgiveness. Today, the Biden-Harris Administration is taking another historic step to right these wrongs and announcing $39 billion in debt relief for another 804,000 borrowers. By fixing past administrative failures, we are ensuring everyone gets the forgiveness they deserve, just as we have done for public servants, students who were cheated by their colleges, and borrowers with permanent disabilities, including veterans. This Administration will not stop fighting to level the playing field in higher education.
    • This will be overturned by the Supreme Court.
  • Joe Biden just ended his NATO trip. It was a disaster.
    • He was ignored by the other leaders.
    • He confused Zelensky with Putin. He called Zelensky, Putin.

    • He had to explain why using cluster bombs was a good idea.
    • He tripped going up Air Force 1 again.
    • He never answered any questions again.
    • But he is going to Camp David for another much needed vacation today.
  • In 2010 and 2011, New York authorities discovered 11 sets of human remains strewn along a suburban Long Island beach highway. Those who have been identified are Shannan Gilbert, Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Costello, Megan Waterman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Jessica Taylor and Valerie Mack.
    • Police in New York’s Long Island have arrested suspect Rex Heuermann on Friday in the Gilgo Beach serial killer case.
  • More than two months after defending its rules on the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced Friday that trans cyclists will now be banned from competing in all international women’s events.
  • Dylan Mulvaney, the guy who has single-handedly destroyed Bud Light, went to Peru. He had a pretty good reason.

Dumbass Of the Day

For the third time, our dumbass of the day is:

She doesn’t know what AI is. It’s that simple.

The Death of Art

In Heather MacDonald’s book, When Race Trumps Merit, she talks how wokism will (specifically racism), in the end, destroy art. Mozart, Monet, Shakespeare and Michelangelo, have been demonized because they are white. This is evil. Art is a glimpse into the mind of God. It is an attempt to understand God and nature in ways that words can’t convey.

We should fight this evil. The best way to fight evil is to make fun of it. Thomas Moore said, “The devil…the prowde spirite…cannot endure to be mocked.”

Well, Mike Love of the Beach Boys decided to tackle this evil head on.

According to the Daily Wire:

Former Beach Boy Mike Love announced at a recent concert that he was afraid to perform the band’s hit song “Surfer Girl,” fearing backlash because the lyrics were “gender specific.”

Love expressed his concern with a jab aimed at Anheuser-Busch — and the recent brouhaha surrounding the company’s brief but ill-fated partnership with trans-identifying influencer Dylan Mulvaney — joking that he hoped there wasn’t “anyone from Budweiser”

Here is the clip:

there are some old school rockers that haven’t been bitten by the woke bug yet. It’s good to see that the Beach Boys are one of those bands.

This IS a Thing

my strp daughters do something that absolutely drive me nuts. They are in bed all day. At first, I thought they did this because they were lazy. I don’t understand it. I was never allowed to be in bed all day. Hell, I wasn’t allowed to stay in my room. For more than a couple of hours without being told to go outside.

I yell at them constantly to get out of bed and stop being so damn lazy. Turns out it isn’t just my steps kids that do this. There is a dangerous trend out there with Gez Z called “bed rotting”.

According to Fox News:

Lounging in bed all day might seem lazy — but some Gen Z trend followers are now embracing it as a form of self-care.

“Bed rotting” — the practice of spending long periods of time snuggled under the covers with snacks, screens and other creature comforts — is gaining popularity on social media.

The unofficial definition, per Urban Dictionary, is “the Gen Z term for staying in bed for days on end, binging on Netflix, Tik Tok and Hinge.”

Are these extended siestas really wise for one’s mental health — or could they be a cause for concern?

Dr. Ryan Sultan, a board certified psychiatrist, research professor at Columbia University in New York and medical director of Integrative Psych NYC, who treats many young patients, called the bed rotting trend “fascinating.”

“In our current culture, with too much to do, too many expectations and too much productivity, many individuals are feeling burned out and often aren’t getting enough sleep,” Sultan told Fox News Digital.

“In our current culture, with too much to do, too many expectations and too much productivity, many individuals are feeling burned out and often aren’t getting enough sleep,” Sultan told Fox News Digital.

“It’s easy to see why taking time off to lie around — literally — is appealing,” he went on.

“In many ways, this is beneficial. It’s a chance to clear your mind, recharge and regroup before returning to life in a better frame of mind.”

On the flip side, however, he said a long-term need or desire for “bed rotting” could be a warning sign.

I can’t believe we even have to answer this question. It seems to me it should be obvious that sitting in bed all day is bad for you. But Gen Zers don’t know about those issues.

What are those issues:

  • Depression
  • Could mess with sleep schedules.
  • Decreased motivation. You just don’t care to do things you need to do.
  • Increased body weight.
  • Binge eating.
  • Blood clots.
  • Increased blood pressure.
  • Anti social behavior.
  • Bad for stress.
  • Worsens fatigue.

This is like that “conscious quitting” thing that is being promoted where people do the minimum at their jobs. Of course, then those people bitch about being stuck in the same old job.

This should all be an obvious thing. We should all know this is a bad way to be. We should know it’s not healthy.

Face Tattoo Syndrome

According to the New York Post:

This big-breasted influencer doesn’t have a whole lot of support.

A model with size M-cup boobs is opening up about how people treat her differently all around the world, calling out Americans in particular.

Jazmyne Day claims people stare at her and harass her over her large breasts.

WHAT THE HELL DID SHE THINK PEOPLE WERE GOING TO DO?! She inserted M-cup breasts. Did she think people weren’t going to look?

And if she didn’t think people were going to look, WHY DID SHE INSERT THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

This is face tattoo syndrome. People put a big tattoo on their face and are surprised and offended when people look at it.

Here’s the thing with this broad, she’s getting negative attention. People aren’t looking at her because she’s sexy. They’re looking at her because she turned herself into a freak.

Let’s continue:

The 29-year-old from Wales told News.com.au that people in the US very openly react to her appearance and are “very forward” about it.

“They will laugh and point, or stop and stare. They won’t make an effort to hide what they are doing,” she said.

The model said the only time people in the states aren’t so upfront is when they’re trying to sneak a picture.

This is the typical social media influencer. There are things that are really popular to do when posting crap. Be a victim, k

Don’t Dump Our Shit on Them

According to the New York Post:

The Toronto Zoo is urging visitors to stop showing gorillas cell phone videos as some of the unmoderated content could be “upsetting” — and even addictive — to the primates.

“We just want the gorillas to be able to be gorillas,” behavioral husbandry supervisor Hollie Ross told CP24 last Thursday.

“And when our guests come to the zoo, we want them to be able to see gorillas in a very natural state, and what they would be doing naturally – to sort of connect with them on that level.”

Newly posted signs requested visitors refrain from showing the animals any videos or photos “as some content can be upsetting and affect their relationship and behavior within their family,” according to a photo posted by the news outlet.

One of the gorillas at the Toronto Zoo, named Nassir, is particularly susceptible to vids.

“Nassir is truly the epitome of a teenager, fascinated by videos and screen time would dominate his life if he had his way,” the zoo said in their description of him.

“I think, mostly, he was seeing videos of other animals,” Ross told CT24. “But, I think what is really important is that he’s able to just hang out with his brother and be a gorilla.”

The zoo hasn’t noticed any significant changes in the gorillas’ behavior from the video viewing so far.
