What Happened
Here is what happening, in nutshell, in Israel this weekend:
- Israel declared an all out “state of war” on Saturday after Palestinian terrorists reportedly fired thousands of rockets from inside Gaza and while dozens of highly armed terrorists infiltrated parts of Israel opening fire on innocent civilians.
- Occurred during the holiday of Simchat Torah and on Shabbat — the Jewish day of rest that is observed by many in Israel.
- Terrorist Mohammad Deif, Hamas’s military chief, said that his militants fired 5,000 rockets into Israel as part of “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.” He called for surrounding Islamic nations to join the Palestinian terrorists in their attacks on Israel.
- Fighting was taking place at Erez Crossing, Nahal Oz, Magen, Kibbutz Beeri, Rehim Army Base, Ziikim Army Base, and Kfar Azz.
- Hamas now controls several population centers in southern Israel.
- A ground invasion started with Hamas tearing down walls and fences with bulldozers and to get in and flying in with para-gliders.
- There are reports of torture, rape and murder of men, women and children.
- Soldiers are being held hostage and beaten.
- Dead soldiers are being dragged through the street while the terrorists celebrate.
- From what we know, four Americans have been killed and there is an unknown number taken hostage.
The response from the Israeli government has been harsh and swift.
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the world:
- “We are at war, not in an operation or in rounds, but at war. This morning, Hamas launched a murderous surprise attack against the State of Israel and its citizens. We have been in this since the early morning hours. I convened the heads of the security establishment and ordered – first of all – to clear out the communities that have been infiltrated by terrorists. This currently is being carried out.”
- “At the same time, I have ordered an extensive mobilization of reserves and that we return fire of a magnitude that the enemy has not known. The enemy will pay an unprecedented price. In the meantime, I call on the citizens of Israel to strictly adhere to the directives of the IDF and Home Front Command. We are at war and we will win it.”
- The Israeli Defense Force launched Operation “Iron Swords” on Saturday.
- Israel said that it was calling up reservists to fight in the war.
- The IDF, armed with advanced weaponry, has nearly 170,000 active-duty soldiers and nearly half a million reservists, making it “the Middle East’s most formidable force,” The Wall Street Journal reports.
- Video shows that Israel is rushing tanks to the area.
- Israelis have been told to evacuate southern Israel and the airports are jammed.
- Netanyahu has warned Israelis and Palestinians to evacuate the Gaza Strip
- “Dear citizens of Israel, this morning, on Shabbat and a holiday, Hamas invaded Israeli territory and murdered innocent citizens including children and the elderly. Hamas has started a brutal and evil war. We will be victorious in this war despite an unbearable price. This is a very difficult day for all of us. Hamas wants to murder us all. This is an enemy that murders children and mothers in their homes, in their beds, an enemy that abducts the elderly, children, and young women, that slaughters and massacres our citizens, including children who simply went out to enjoy the holiday.”
- “What happened today is unprecedented in Israel and I will see to it that it does not happen again. The entire government is behind this decision. The IDF will immediately use all its strength to destroy Hamas’ capabilities. We will destroy them and we will forcefully avenge this dark day that they have forced on the State of Israel and its citizens.”
- Netanyahu then warned that “all of the places which Hamas is deployed, hiding in, and operating from in that wicked city, we will turn them into rubble.”
- “I say to the residents of Gaza: Leave now because we will operate forcefully everywhere,” he said. “At this hour, the IDF is clearing the terrorists out of the last communities.”
- 2400 people have been killed including 9 Americans.

World Reaction
How this happened and how everyone was caught off guard seems to be the big question. Here is some information.
- This is an attack that was planned well in advance. Some are saying this could have been planned for up to two years.
- Hamas has admitted that Iran was directly involved in the funding, arming and planning of the attack.
- The Taliban have offered to help Hamas, asking for permission to travel across Islamic countries to get their fighters into the the Gaza Strip.
- Pro-Palestinian protests have been taking place in Pakistan, Canada and the United States including the burning of Israeli and American flags.
- The United States has sent naval warships to the area.

America’s Reaction
Let’s face it, this whole mess was enabled by Joe Biden handing out $6 billion to Iran. He had some words about the attack:
Then he left, not answering any questions and went to a BBQ.
This is an absolute disaster for the Biden administration! They kept telling us how Iran was a moderate country and how they were going to join the world stage. They negotiated a nuclear deal that Iran broke every couple of minutes. Just last week, this administration gave Iran $6 billion to release a few hostages that were under house arrest.
Heck, last week, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that there was peace and stability in the Middle East:
This has gone viral. The reason the Middle East has been quiet is because the Iranians and Hamas has been planning.
The Biden administration is changing their tune a bit. They might even have to admit they f-de up a bit. Here is Antoney Blinkin basically admitting the Iran is a terrorist group but he swears it wasn’t financed by the $6 billion the Biden administration gave them:
He also followed the Biden playbook. He said that there needs to be a ceasefire in Israel. Of course, Israel hasn’t even started their attacks yet, but they should do what everyone but Ukraine is doing, stop fighting. I guess Ukraine is the only country that gets to protect their border.
The idiocy is amazing. So the Biden administration knew that Iran was a terror state that was capable of doing this but they gave them the money anyway? This, right here, is a campaign ad.
Sure enough, Republicans jumped on Biden and his handing out of cash to a terrorist nation.
Donald Trump released a statement:
“These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force. Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration. We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again.”
What has gone viral is a speech he made on August 17, 2023. They guy is beginning to look like Nostradamus:
Once again, he was right. By he way, when I say Trump looks like he can see into the future, I was kidding. Anyone could have seen this coming!

In another interview, he said this is proof that we need to shut the border down. We don’t know who’s coming in and what they are planning. We should have learned that after 9/11.
Nikki Haley said the right things to. She said an attack on Israel is an attack on America:
Who didn’t have a good statement was Mike Pence. Somehow, this whole thing was the fault of Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Of course, he said that on CNN. This guy is just scratching for voters and this was not a good way to get them. He looks like the consummate politician here.
