Episode 849 – Back-to-Back for the Chiefs!

The Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls. This cost Josie a hundred bucks. Let’s talk about that.

There was some attempt to wokify the NFL and this attempt has already failed heavily.

And Sunny Hostin of The View gets a surprise.

Some News

Here is some news:

  • Chiefs beat the 49ers, 25-22.
    • The Black Nation Anthem, some poem some guy wrote in the 1800s, was sang way before the game. There was mass mockery of it. No one stood.
    • The National Anthem was sang by Reba McEntire.
    • There was nothing in the game that look fixed.
  • They had oral arguments in front of the Supreme Court about Trump not being on the ballot in Colorado.
    • This will determine what 13 other states are going to do.
    • Two of the Justices kept arguing that Trump was an insurrectionist.
    • Overall, the judges were skeptical.
    • It will probably be 7-2 though a lot of people say it will be 9-0.
    • As much as people bitch, the Supreme Court is unanimous 75% of the time.
  • Special Counsel Robert Hur will not recommend criminal charges against President Biden for mishandling classified documents, according to his report after a months-long investigation into the president’s alleged improper retention of classified records.
    • “We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone from whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties—of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
    • Joe Biden held a press conference and it was a disaster. It proved the special counsel was right.
    • Donald Trump says his charges should be dropped.
  • A woman in a trench coat armed with a long rifle – and accompanied by a young child – entered pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church on Sunday afternoon and began firing, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said.
    • Two off-duty law enforcement officers – a Houston police officer and an agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission – engaged and struck the woman, who died on the scene, Finner said. The woman was roughly 30-35 years old, the chief said.
    • Two people were injured.
    • BREAKING: Lakewood Church shooter identified as a transgender, legal name Genesse Moreno but went by the name “Jeffrey.”

This is Why I Am a Conservative

According to Fox News:

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to compete in Sunday’s Super Bowl, a group of Native Americans is renewing their call for the team to drop its name, mascot and fan-driven “tomahawk chop” ritual.

Activist Rhonda LeValdo is one of the individuals leading the fight to see the use of Native American imagery and references in sports come to an end. She is the founder of a Kansas City-based group called Not In Our Honor.

LeValdo and dozens of Indigenous activists have traveled to Las Vegas, the site of Super Bowl LVIII, to protest and demand the team alter its nickname, abandon its logo, and cease certain game rituals they view as offensive. Protesters had the same goal a few years ago when they organized a demonstration outside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, ahead of the start of Super Bowl LV.

You knew this was coming. For their part, the Chiefs have beard all this BS before and have told these activists to kick rocks.

They also learned from the Washington Redskins that cancelling their name has pissed of a lot of Native American tribes, especially the one the Washington Redskins was honoring!

According to the New York Post:

A group called the Native American Guardian’s Association (NAGA) is demanding the Washington Commanders change their name back to the Redskins, organizing support for the name reversal with a petition that has gained more than 90,000 signatures.

“We invite all Americans to stand up for the dignity of EVERY AMERICAN under assault in today’s increasingly nonsensical culture wars,” the petition says.

“This ‘LINE IN THE SAND’ moment reinforces undeniable history of the NATIVE AMERICAN assisting the FOUNDING OF AMERICA, with NATIVE AMERICAN principles used by the FOUNDING FATHERS in the US Constitution – and, EVERY AMERICAN’s right to the 1st and 14th Amendment and not to be targets of cancel culture or ESG.

“This is not a simple left or right issue for Americans; it reaches across the political spectrum dating back to our Founding Fathers.”

Some facts:

  • Walter “Blackie” Wetzel, a former leader of the Blackfeet Nation, helped the NFL develop the Indian head logo for the “Redskins” football team, which players debuted on helmets in 1972.
  • The profile of a Native American trimmed with a circle of life and two eagle feathers.
  • The logo was a composite of portraits of a Blackfeet chief named White Calf (who was marketed to wealthy tourists of Glacier National Park as Two Guns White Calf). Blackie considered the logo a sort of “unification symbol” among Native Americans.
  • Being called a Redskin is considered a compliment. Redskins were the warriors of the tribe. There are Indians today who consider themselves Redskins and are proud of it.

Most Indians think this is a cancelling of Native Americans (whatever that means). The Land O Lakes butter logo is considered another example. In that logo, the pulled the pretty Indian lady and kept the land. Does that sound familiar?
