Episode 886 – We Need to Turn Our Eyes East!

Could we be coming to a head with the real threat to us in this world? Well, if we are, it’ll be within the next few months.

A man in Florida is missing his emotional support pet. Yeah, there’s more to this story.

And evidence comes out that a vegan diet may not be the best for one’s body. Who would have thunk it?

We Need to be Watching

Here is an article by Scott Miniter of Fox News:

This might sound like a plot for a thriller — and I am the author of “The Year of the Dragon” — but the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, recently said, at Vanderbilt University’s “Summit on Modern Conflict and Emerging Threats,” that Chinese-government-linked hackers have “burrowed into critical U.S. infrastructure” and are waiting for “just the right moment to deal a devastating blow” to America.

Could such a moment come if China attacks Taiwan? Just imagine the mayhem in the U.S. if the national power grid was taken down for days.

The U.S., along with Taiwan, run war games scenarios on worries like these annually. But why is the director of the FBI worrying about them publicly?

Also, why in the same political moment did U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken publish talking points saying there are now “290,000 Chinese students in the United States” but just 900 American students in China?

In the release, Blinken did not mention the massive rise in Chinese nationals entering through the porous southern border of the U.S. — that fact just isn’t something the Biden administration finds politically convenient enough to talk about.

But Blinken did say the Biden administration is “very clear-eyed about the challenges posed by the PRC [People’s Republic of China] and about our competing visions for the future,” before talking about how China is supplying Russia with military parts that are “powering Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine.”

He also mentioned Chinese involvement in selling chemicals to Mexican cartels that are sending massive amounts of the fentanyl into the U.S. — chemicals that are killing more Americans every year than died in the entire Vietnam War — though he didn’t take a stance tough enough to make the Chinese flinch on this critical topic.

So then, why are Biden administration officials suddenly sounding so tough on China?

Biden recently signed legislation to force the sale of Chinese-owned TikTok and legislation to fund Taiwan’s defense. In response, Chinese officials are now threatening to take “resolute and forceful steps” against the U.S. and Taiwan.

Saber-rattling can be an important part of diplomacy, but typically, rhetoric like this would be said through diplomatic channels while solutions are floated publicly.

As that is not happening here, this appears to be all about U.S. domestic politics.

To put this in perspective, it is important to remember that Biden accused former President Donald Trump of xenophobia when he called COVID the “China virus.” Later, the Biden administration worked with American social-media companies to censor political speech about China’s involvement in the virus.

Even when Trump used tariffs to try to force China to play fair, Biden and much of the Left mocked and attacked him for it.

Indeed, when China sent a spy balloon over the U.S., Biden hesitated and let it cross the entire continent before ordering it to be shot down. In fact, much of the Left, from The Atlantic to The New York Times, have long told us that the Chinese model of a state-run economy is far superior to America’s freer iteration of a market economy.

Yet, with a presidential election looming and the polls not looking so good for Biden, his administration is suddenly saying some very tough things about China.

A central reason for this is that the Biden administration clearly wants to distract American voters with a foreign threat — and they are willing to risk a horrifying war to do so.

Next, this threat would empower the Biden administration’s ambitions on the domestic front; after all, if private and state-run companies all agree that the Chinese hacking threat is real, then they will feel obligated to give the FBI access to their computer systems and data now — at the same time, for security reasons, they’ll need to keep any details about this from the public. This then, would further empower the FBI by giving them more access to Americans’ data and more control of corporations at a time when the FBI has too often behaved as a partisan political player for Democrats.

We know, after all, where the U.S. intelligence agencies stand on Fourth Amendment-protected due process rights of U.S. citizens.

This isn’t to say that China isn’t a real threat. Many “red states” have passed legislation barring Chinese interests from purchasing land near military bases for this very reason. I am spelling this all out because the American public needs to be aware of all the nuance within this critical topic so they can at least try to vote this November for what is in their best interest — the Biden administration and various members of U.S. intelligence agencies, after all, have not always done what is in the best interest of the American public.

Look at what China has done:

  • Stealing of intellectual property.
  • Spying.
  • The fentanyl crisis.
  • Human smuggling.
  • Unfair trade practices.
  • Buying farmland.
  • Purchasing American businesses.
  • Promoting propaganda in film, television and media.
  • Run Chinese police stations in the United States to keep dissidents in line.
  • Tik Tok.
  • Hacking.
  • Distributing cash to politicians.
  • Political lobbying.
  • Smuggling illegal weapons.
  • Promoting discontent and abhorrent behavior.

They Stole a What?

According to Fox News:

An emotional support alligator has reportedly gone missing in Georgia, prompting a desperate search by his owner and pleas from the gator’s social media fans.

Pennsylvania resident Joie Henney believes that his 8-year-old gator named Wally was stolen during a trip to Brunswick, Georgia. Henney was reportedly visiting his friends at the time, and he brought Wally with him.

Henney claimed in a TikTok video that Wally was left in an enclosed yard when a trapper captured the reptile, then released him into the wild.

“We need all the help we can get with bringing my baby back,” Henney says into the camera, as tears welled in his eyes. “Please, we need your help.”

Henney and Wally are an inseparable pair. Wally is a licensed emotional support alligator and helped Henny through his battle with prostate cancer, Fox News Digital previously reported.

Well, Duh!

According to the New York Post:

Good for the environment — but what about your body?

Trendy plant-based meats could be triggering health issues less frequently seen in humans who prefer to chow down on the real thing, a new study warns.

Research published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition compared the impacts of protein alternatives, scientifically known as plant-based meat analogues, or PBMAs, to actual meat dishes — and the experts didn’t necessarily like what they found.

I have said this for YEARS!

During an eight-week period of analysis, it turned out that actual beef provided more protein than its imposter — while typically being higher in sodium, a problem for those struggling with hypertension.

It’s not about the protein. It’s about the amino acids. There are 16 amino acids that make up protein. We need all of them. Non-animal proteins do not have all 16 amino acids. We can’t even replicate it.

Also, PBMAs contained high levels of potassium and calcium, possibly triggering issues with blood sugar control in ways not observed among meat eaters.

“This suggests that assumptions of health benefits from consuming [plant-based meats] may not be directly extrapolated to those consuming a [plant-based diet],” the researchers said.

Previous research found that plant-based diets overall have been found to show little health benefits to counterpart foods.

In another study, veganism was found to launch the female libido up to 380%.

The medical news comes as well-known brand Beyond Meat experiences tanking sales. The company has been making attempts to cut fat from its products by 60% recently.

And while the jury may still be out, that hasn’t stopped the likes of Bill Gates from giving meat alternatives a strong vote of confidence.

“I think eventually these products will be very good, even though their share is small today,” Gates told Redditors in a recent online discussion.

I just want to point out the science has been proven for a very long time. For some reason, he Left wants us to eat plants and bugs, but they know this is not good for is. The important people will get the beef, pork, chicken and fish. It will be served with a side of fois gois and a nice chiante. After all, our elite need to be healthy.

We Already Knew This

According to Fox News:

Vitamin D could be a surprise weapon against cancer, new research suggests.

A study of mice published in the journal Science last week found that eating a diet rich in vitamin D changed the gut microbiome in a way that boosted cancer immunity.

The micronutrient increased levels of the bacterium Bacteroides fragilis, which has been shown to improve cancer immune response.

The mice that received vitamin D showed improved responses to cancer immunotherapy and greater immunity to new tumor development, according to researchers at the Francis Crick Institute in London, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Aalborg University in Denmark.

“This could one day be important for cancer treatment in humans.”

The researchers aren’t yet sure why vitamin D seems to foster a “good” microbiome.

“If we can answer this, we might uncover new ways in which the microbiome influences the immune system, potentially offering exciting possibilities in preventing or treating cancer,” said co-author Evangelos Giampazolias, former postdoctoral researcher at the Crick and now group leader of the Cancer Immunosurveillance Group at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, in the release.

“What we’ve shown here came as a surprise — vitamin D can regulate the gut microbiome to favor a type of bacteria that gives mice better immunity to cancer,” said senior study author Caetano Reis e Sousa, head of the Immunobiology Laboratory at Crick, in a press release.
