Speaking of Businesses that Want to Go Under

I guess it was not a coincidence that Disney decided to release their new Star Wars series, The Acolyte, during pride month. I also guess Disney is going to continue on their quest to go broke.

According to Pink News:

Actress Abigail Thorn stars in the new Star Wars Cinematic Universe (SWCU) show The Acolyte, which drops on Disney+ this week.

Thorn plays ensign Eurus in The Acolyte, which is set at the end of the High Republic era – approximately 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

, the new show is a “mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers… [when] a former padawan reunites with her Jedi master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”

Thorn will be appearing alongside Lee Jung-jae of Squid Game fameAmandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games), and Carrie-Anne Moss, who featured in The Matrix franchise.

Not much is known about Thorn’s character or how she fits into the wider narrative of the show, but as she is also known as a prolific YouTuber and a trans trailblazer, we thought it would be a good time to revisit what we know about her.

Yeah, this Thorn guy is a dude who likes to dress up as a woman. He looks like a dude. He sounds like a dude. On his YouTube channel he was a dude, then he dressed like a chick.

Asked about this, the star of the new Star Wars show, Amandla Stenberg (who is an LGBT activist and is gay) and director Leslye Headland (who is an LGBT activist and is gay) were asked about making the gayest Star War series yet. Here’s what they had to say:

C-3PO is a robot. I just want to point out these people hate their core audience.

So are the reviews in? The Acolyte has an 88% fresh score on rottentomatoes.com from critics but a 45% rating from viewers. What a shock.

Good for you Disney. You’ve spent $180 million on a new Star Wars series nobody is going to want to watch. Like the last three Star Wars series.

Time for Sanity to Speak Up

According to the Post Millennial:

A bar in Idaho has officially declared the month of June “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” and will provide free beer and discounts to straight people.

Old State Saloon in Eagle said they want to celebrate heterosexuals because without them “none of us would be here.” This comes as an alternative to LGBTQ Pride Month, which has been dedicated to the month of June.

Additionally, the bar put out a job listing for applicants to judge if a man has straight enough clothing in order to receive the special perks awarded on “Hetero Male Mondays.” Whoever gets the job will be paid $15 per hour plus a free beer, according to the bar.

Old State’s Saloon Facebook post elicited varied responses, with some criticizing the decision and others praising their efforts.

“Every day is hetero day. They’re not a marginalized group, they’re the norm,” said one commenter, Jenna Nash. “I don’t care if you are glad you’re straight but pointing out your heterosexuality during gay pride month is an affront, is othering and creates separation and discord.”

Around 25 people were banned by Old State Saloon after they received comments that contained profanity and disrespected the name of the Lord. However, one LGBTQ patron said he was elated by the bar’s announcement.

“I’m a gay dude and I think this is awesome. I am an ally to the often stigmatized straight male. I am also grateful for my heterosexual parents that made my life possible,” he said.

Despite the backlash, the bar’s owner, Mark Fitzpatrick, who describes himself as a Christian conservative family man, said they won’t be backing down.

This is What We’re Fighting

According to the Post Millennial:

A taxpayer-funded LGBTQ pride event in Lynnwood, Washington will feature a “kids catwalk,” in which a panel of adults will judge toddlers while they strut down the runway to sexually charged music.

One of the judges is Democrat state Sen. Marko Liias, who is the legislator behind SB 5599, which allows for minors to be taken by the state if their parents don’t allow them to obtain sex change procedures.

Also judging are Democrat Lynnwood City Council Members Josh Binda and Nick Coehlo, and former Democrat State Senator Maralyn Chase, The Center Square reported.

“The Fashion Catwalk Contest” will be from 2 to 3 pm and split by different age groups. The kids category is for children between the ages of 2 to 12, according to Lynnwood Pride’s website.

Participants will select a three-minute song of their choice. The list of song choices suggested by Lynnwood Pride are songs that contain sexually charged lyrics. This includes “Texas Hold ‘Em” by Beyonce, “Free Your Mind” by En Vogue, and “Supermodel – You Better Work” by RuPaul.

To receive taxpayer funding for an event, a city spokesperson told The Center Square that it must “provide a public benefit to the community.”

Up to $2,500 in “eligible expenses” (such as event rentals, artist fees, and promotion) will be reimbursed by the city to the organization. However, the organization’s receipted expenses must total $5,000 or more in order to qualify. Additionally, the city is advertising the event on social media and its website.

In addition to the judges, event speakers include Snohomish County Sheriff Susanna Johnson, a Democrat who recently unseated Republican Sheriff Adam Fortney. Snohomish County is also a co-sponsor of the event through its Office of Social Justice, which grants $5,000 of taxpayer funds to “organizations working to advance efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

They’re After the Kids

According to the Daily Wire:

Scholastic is encouraging teachers to “disrupt the status quo” by exposing children to LGBT books this Pride Month, telling them they “absolutely know queer children.”

The children’s book publishing company recently released its 2024 guide for Scholastic’s annual “Read With Pride” initiative, which includes LGBT children’s book recommendations.

The guide assures teachers, caregivers, and “advocates” that “whether or not they are out to themselves or you, you absolutely know queer children and interact with them in your classrooms, libraries, and communities.”

“Books and literature are never neutral; by engaging with queer literature for children and young adults, you are disrupting the status quo that implies being cisgender, heterosexual, and allosexual are the default. You are showing children an expanded way of thinking and being that validates all children and all people,” the guide states.

Scholastic recommends LGBT books for children as young as preschool age.

Why do preschool kids need to know about sex much less deviant sex? Could this be for indoctrination?

The article continues:

The guide also lists resources for “supporting” LGBT youth and books, including The Trevor Project, a nonprofit that says it works to prevent LGBT youth suicides. The Trevor Project previously helped devise a model school policy that says schools should hide suicidal students’ sexual orientation and gender identity from their parents unless the student gives permission.

Gee, the same Trevor Project that supports drugging and mutilating children.

In a statement, Scholastic said:

“As a teacher, librarian, educator, or caregiver, how you interact with all children and teens around queerness matters. What literature you provide them with, and how you talk about both literature and identity, can have an immense, life-changing impact on the young people in your life.

“Everyone benefits from books with authentic representation of queer identities.”

The Backlash is Coming

According to the Daily Wire:

One of the country’s largest Catholic advocacy groups is launching an effort led by parents to root out progressive LGBT books aimed at children from libraries ahead of Pride Month, which begins Saturday.

CatholicVote, a nonprofit focused on promoting Catholic values in public life, will debut its third annual “Hide The Pride” campaign on June 1. The campaign urges parents to rid their local taxpayer-funded library’s children’s section of sexualized and gender-related books, especially those that are prominently displayed.

“Public libraries have long been a summer destination hangout where children and parents can go for free resources, books, computer access, and community. And as public spaces, they should stay that way,” CatholicVote wrote in a toolkit for parents.

“But during ‘Pride Month,’ many libraries fill their children’s sections with gay and trans books, images, and symbols – not to mention drag- queen story hours,” the group continued. “So we are equipping you to fight back and reclaim your library for your kids. We are going to ‘Hide the Pride.’”

The group is urging families to plan a library visit in early June where they go to the children’s section, take all the “Pride Month” books off the display shelves, check them out at the front desk, and go home and place the books on a shelf out of reach of children. The library books should be returned on time later, the group says.

One person should also be designated to film during the library visit in case library staff gives the group trouble, CatholicVote recommended.
