There have ben a lot f questions about how Conservatives can win the culture war. Well, I have one answer: We can start fighting.
If you thought violence and crime were already bad in Chicago, hold on to your shorts. It’s about to get a whole lot worse.
And I am getting pretty sick and tired of hearing about the mental well-being of murderers. I have a story that will make your stomach turn.
How the Culture is Won
According to the Daily Caller:
Two conservative movies have cracked into, and stayed in, the top 10 at the domestic box office in September despite some negative reviews from critics.
The Ronald Reagan biopic “Reagan,” starring conservative actor Dennis Quaid as the former president, has so far grossed over $26 million, nabbing the number eight spot as of Sept. 20, according to the latest numbers. The documentary “Am I Racist?”, starring conservative Matt Walsh, took the number seven spot, having grossed over $9 million since its release Sept. 13.
Several film critics have panned Quaid’s movie, with The Washington Post calling it “shallow hagiography” and New York Magazine describing it as a “disservice” to Reagan the president. The biopic has a 17% critic approval on Rotten Tomatoes, but boosts a 98% Popcornmeter rating and an average of 4.7 stars on Google’s audience ratings.
Meanwhile, “Am I Racist?” has a 73% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a 98% Popcornmeter rating and a 7.5 out of 10 on IMDB.
During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” earlier in September, Quaid addressed what he called “the largest gap in cinema history between critics and audiences” after host Shannon Bream asked him about the negative reviews.
“Do you get sort of a kick out of the fact that critics really don’t love this movie, but people have gone bananas for it? On the customer side, the viewer side, they’re crazy about this movie. I mean, there’s quite a gulf there.”
“We had the largest gap in cinema history between critics and audiences; 98% of the audience loved the movie. And I think it was 19% or 20% of critics liked the movie. The rest not only panned it, but basically attacked it. So, I guess we must be doing something right,” the actor replied.
Quaid previously told the Daily Caller that his role as the 40th U.S. president was an “enormous challenge” and one of his “most interesting roles” to date.
“Portraying Ronald Reagan was an enormous challenge,” he told the Caller. “I think what’s going to appeal to the audience is you’re getting the whole story. I’ve always been told bits and pieces of the stories from Reagan‘s life. This movie puts the whole story together.”
Here It Comes
According to the Daily Wire:
Chicago gang members and ex-convicts are warning of coming violent turf wars with newly arrived Venezuelan migrants who are part of the notorious gang Tren De Aragua, or TDA.
Not unlike other cities across the country, Chicago has been inundated with migrants as the border crisis rages on. Since 2022, an estimated 48,000 migrants have come to the city, with the majority of new migrant arrivals hailing from Venezuela.
“When the black gangs here get fed up with the illegalities and criminal activities of these migrants or non-citizens, the city of Chicago is going to go up in flames and there will be nothing the National Guard or the government can do about it when the bloodshed hits the streets,” Tyrone Muhammad, an ex-con and former gang member, told the New York Post. “It’ll be blacks against migrants.”
Members of TDA are taking over Chicago turf, residents said. They’re also receiving robust welfare benefits, further angering residents and gang members who say the money should be going to Chicago citizens who are suffering.
“The real issue is that America has allowed gangs to enter our country,” a former gang member told the Post. “They let terrorist groups into our country!”
Residents say TDA gang members and other migrants are flooding their shelters, increasingly taking up apartments, and displacing Chicago residents.
The displacement of residents is happening elsewhere, too, like in Springfield, Ohio. There, Haitian migrants, who are subsidized by taxpayers, are sometimes paying $3,000 a month in rent, which citizens can’t afford to pay.
It’s unclear how many TDA gang members are in the city, though authorities have confirmed that these gang members are present. With Venezuelan immigrants, U.S. officials are not given their criminal history. Cuba, China, and some other countries also don’t share criminal records with the U.S. This makes it impossible for authorities to know who is a criminal.
Just last year, some 330,000 Venezuelans crossed the southern border. During the Biden-Harris regime, thus far, close to a million have tried to enter the U.S.
TDA migrant gang members are causing issues in other parts of the nation, too. As the governor of a border state, Greg Abbott of Texas is on the front lines of dealing with the gang.
“TDA is notorious for their brutal violence and murder, and their kidnapping, extortion, bribery, and trafficking of drugs, weapons, and even humans,” Gov. Abbott said during a press conference last week.
“They’ve been linked to more than 100 law enforcement investigations across the country,” the governor continued. “They were involved in the brutal attack and assault upon New York Police Department law enforcement officers. Reports have also linked TDA to the murder of Laken Riley.”
There have also been reports and shocking footage of alleged migrant TDA gang members in Aurora, Colorado. One man told CNN that condemned buildings he owns in Aurora have been taken over by TDA gang members. There was also shocking video circulating online out of an apartment complex showing armed men walking down hallways and kicking open an apartment door.
Authorities in Aurora, who’ve largely tried to downplay some of these shocking reports, made arrests in connection to that apartment complex incident and have admitted that it’s possible these men are tied to TDA. They noted that it’s hard to confirm the connection since Venezuela doesn’t share criminal background information with the U.S.
Just Sick
According to Fox News:
A federal judge has ruled that it would be unconstitutional for an Indiana prison to deny a transgender inmate sex reassignment surgery following the inmate’s lawsuit against the facility.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued the Indiana Department of Corrections last year on behalf of a transgender inmate, Jonathan C. Richardson, also known as Autumn Cordellionè, who was convicted of strangling his 11-month-old stepdaughter to death in 2001.
Indiana law, however, prohibits the Department of Corrections from using taxpayer dollars to fund sex reassignment surgeries for inmates. However, the ACLU argues in the lawsuit, filed on Aug. 28, 2023, that the law is a violation of the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition of “cruel and unusual punishment.”
The surgery for Richardson, who is serving out a 55-year prison sentence for reckless homicide, “is a medical necessity,” according to the ACLU lawsuit.
Judge Richard Young agreed with the ACLU’s claims and ruled in favor of Cordellioné last week.
“Specifically, Ms. Cordellioné has shown that her gender dysphoria is a serious medical need, and that, despite other treatments Defendant has provided her to treat her gender dysphoria, she requires gender-affirming surgery to prevent a risk of serious bodily and psychological harm,” the ruling states.
The DOC must now take “all reasonable actions” to ensure Cordellioné undergoes sex surgery, according to the order.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, a Republican, said in a post on X that his office is still reviewing the judge’s decision, “but you can undoubtedly expect our office to appeal this decision.”
“An Indiana inmate convicted of murder wants our taxpayers to fund their gender-altering surgery! Hoosiers do NOT want thism” Rokita said.
