Episode 1103 – Adieu, Jimmy!

The Federal Reserve makes a big, but expected, move to shake the economy awake.

ICE is making great strides in cleaning our streets from illegal alien thugs. Let’s go over a few of them.

And free speech might be under attack from an unlikely source.

Maybe This Will Help

According to Fox Business:

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced the first interest rate cut of the year as policymakers lowered its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points, as signs of a weakening labor force outweighed elevated inflation.

Following the central bank’s decision to cut rates for the first time since December 2024, the federal funds rate will sit at a new range of 4% to 4.25%. The cut comes after the Fed left rates unchanged at its first five meetings this year amid economic uncertainty.

Policymakers have been monitoring economic data which has shown a slowdown in hiring as businesses grapple with shifts in trade and immigration policy, while inflation has remained elevated and trended higher in recent months as tariff-related price hikes filter through into inflation data.

That dynamic has presented a challenge for policymakers in achieving both of the goals of the Fed’s dual mandate to promote maximum employment and stable prices in line with the Fed’s 2% inflation target.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), which guides the central bank’s monetary policy moves, noted in its announcement that job gains have slowed and the unemployment rate has risen but remains relatively low, while inflation has risen and remains somewhat elevated. The FOMC added that in monitoring both sides of the dual mandate that “downside risks to employment have risen.”

Dumbass Politicians

Addul Hammol, mayor of Dearborn, Michigan. The conflict is the city wanted to to name a street after a Muslim terrorist. Some of the non-Muslims had a bit of a problem with this.

Maybe They Were Looking for an Excuse

According to the New York Post:

Jimmy Kimmel is taking an involuntary hiatus.

ABC said it is pulling the comedian’s late-night talk show off the air “indefinitely” following his controversial comments about the killing of Charlie Kirk.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely,” an ABC spokesperson confirmed to The Post Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Kimmel, 57, faced backlash after he said Monday night that the “MAGA gang” was trying to score political points off Kirk’s murder after the conservative activist was shot dead on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, Sept. 10.

Of course, the media is flipping out just like they did when Stephen Colbert was fired. The media is calling it state-sponsored censorship because the FCC head, Brandon Carr, said that the comments of Jimmy Kimmel could land the network into hot water. Well, if the network decides to promote conspiracy theories and lies, yes it could.

Here is Brian Stelter on CNN whining about how comedians are being censored.

Van Jones also got into the act:

OK, let’s stop with everyone getting the vapors. There are a few things:

  • The show is tanking and has been for years.
  • What Kimmel said was bad, even slanderous. This could be what the network was afraid of.
  • Kimmel never apologized.
  • It is very possible this was an offramp to get rid of the show. Quite possibly, this was the last straw.
  • Nexstar (a subsidiary of Disney) did this on their own and never blamed the government or Trump.

This May Be the End of the Road

Trying to clarify her dumb remarks, she posted:

Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.

Under 18 U.S.C. § 875(c), it is a federal crime to transmit “any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.” Likewise, 18 U.S.C. § 876 and 18 U.S.C. § 115 make it a felony to threaten public officials, members of Congress, or their families.

You cannot call for someone’s murder. You cannot swat a Member of Congress. You cannot dox a conservative family and think it will be brushed off as “free speech.” These acts are punishable crimes, and every single threat will be met with the full force of the law.

Free speech protects ideas, debate, even dissent but it does NOT and will NEVER protect violence.

It is clear this violent rhetoric is designed to silence others from voicing conservative ideals.

We will never be silenced. Not for our families, not for our freedoms, and never for Charlie. His legacy will not be erased by fear or intimidation.
