The U.S. Mint said in a release that the final penny was struck in Philadelphia by United States Treasurer Brandon Beach.

A transgender Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer in Virginia is suing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), accusing it of sex discrimination over a new policy that bars transgender agents from conducting security screening pat-downs, according to a federal lawsuit.
Danielle Mittereder, a transgender woman and TSA officer at Dulles International Airport, filed the lawsuit Friday claiming the new policy violates civil rights law, according to The Associated Press.
A TSA spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the new policy states that only male officers can perform pat-downs on male passengers and only female officers can perform pat-downs on female passengers.
The rule applies regardless of an officer’s gender identity or transition status.
The spokesperson said that the rule change was implemented to comply with an executive order issued by President Donald Trump on Jan. 20. That order, titled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” declared that the federal government will recognize only two sexes — male and female — defined by biological sex “at conception.”
Until February, TSA assigned work consistent with officers’ gender identity under a 2021 management directive, the agency said.

Overstepping Again

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to release roughly 615 illegal immigrants nabbed in Chicago immigration raids.
During a hearing on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings, a Biden appointee, ruled that hundreds of detainees must be granted bond by Nov. 21, according to ABC7. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) must provide Cummings with a list of detainees by Friday.
DHS hit back at the ruling Wednesday afternoon, calling Cummings an “activist judge.”
“At every turn activist judges, sanctuary politicians, and violent rioters have actively tried to prevent our law enforcement officers from arresting and removing the worst of the worst,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire.
“Now an ACTIVIST JUDGE is putting the lives of Americans directly at risk by ordering 615 illegal aliens be released into the community,” she added.
The ruling comes after immigration advocates at the National Immigrant Justice Center argued that federal immigration agents violated a consent decree in Illinois when they arrested the detainees.
Last month, Cummings ruled that the feds’ warrantless arrests in Chicago violated a previous consent decree that required officers to evaluate whether there is probable cause and if the target is a flight risk before making arrests.
Warrantless arrests are routine for federal immigration authorities, who often conduct surveillance and utilize informants to verify targets.

Starbucks employees are set to strike on Thursday to pressure the company in an effort that the organizers have decided to undertake on “Red Cup Day,” which is the company’s annual holiday promotion. The strike will consist of around 1,000 Starbucks workers at around 65 locations across the nation. The union demanded that those around the country boycott the company’s coffee.
In a post to X, Starbucks Workers United said, “As of today, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we’re prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history. Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON’T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike!”
“It has been nearly a year since Starbucks has offered us a single proposal to finish the remainder of our union contracts. The company knows where we stand: we need fair wages, better scheduling, and an end to union-busting. Instead, Starbucks is fighting US, their workers,” the union added.
Union members say that there have not been new proposals from the company regarding staffing levels as well as pay since the union rejected a contract offer in April.
“We’re turning the Red Cup Season into the Red Cup Rebellion. Starbucks’ refusal to settle a fair union contract and end union busting is forcing us to take drastic action,” Amos Hall, a barista, said in a statement to ABC News.
