Episode 1132 – You Can Lose More Than Your Job Because of AI

I think Artificial Intelligence is more dangerous than we initially thought.

The Senate and House overwhelmingly pass a bill allowing the release of ALL of the Epstein files. You will be surprised to know I don’t care and doubt this is going to solve anything.

And protestors rally against Islamic rule in Dearborn, Michigan. This is how the modern civil war will start. Let’s talk about it.

Reviving your dead relatives with an AI app? This is one of the problems I see in the future with AI. It is not that we will lose jobs, but that we will lose our humanity.

Just Get It Over With

According to the Daily Wire:

The Senate on Tuesday unanimously voted to release documents related to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, just hours after the House of Representatives passed the same bill.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on X that he “received unanimous consent to approve the Senate bill to release the Epstein Files.” Once the House sends the bill to the Upper Chamber, it will immediately go to President Donald Trump for his signature.

Just hours before Schumer’s call for unanimous consent, the House passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act by a vote of 427-1, with only Louisiana Republican Rep. Clay Higgins voting no. Epstein survivors were in the House gallery crying and cheering when the bill passed, The Hill’s Emily Brooks reports. The bill, which requires the Department of Justice to publish “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in DOJ’s possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein,” now heads to the president.

Schumer pledged to fight Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) had he attempted to block the resolution. But by the time the House took up the vote, the bill’s passage already seemed a foregone conclusion. Over the weekend, Trump urged House Republicans to vote to release the Epstein files and pledged to sign the bill if passed.

Good for Them!

According to Fox News:

Anti-Islam activists and pro-Muslim counter-protesters clashed on Tuesday in Dearborn, Michigan, prompting a heavy police presence.

Dearborn, home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the country, has recently become a target for activists who accuse it of operating under “Sharia law,” according to MLive.

The clash began when Jake Lang, who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, arrived on Michigan Avenue and attempted to burn a Quran, the outlet reported.

Lang held up a lighter attempting to light the religious text on fire, but counter-protesters knocked it from his hands.

Later, Lang slapped the Quran with a slab of bacon before a counter-protester grabbed the book and took off with it.

Lang and his group later marched toward City Hall ahead of the City Council meeting Tuesday night.

Police maintained a perimeter on the sidewalks and along Michigan Avenue, intervening briefly when the clash escalated following Lang’s attempted burning of the book.

One person was seen being arrested at City Hall, according to MLive. No injuries were reported.

The chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, Curtis Hertel, condemned the attempted burning of the Quran.

“Attempting to burn a religious document is an unacceptable act of hate,” Hertel said in a statement. “Dearborn is a beloved, multicultural city with tens of thousands of people who are cherished friends, family members, and neighbors.”

Dumbass of the Day

Keep Going In This Direction

According to Fox News:

A coalition of 130 congressional Democrats filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court urging it to rule in favor of two trans athletes in forthcoming cases over the protection of women’s sports and national enforcement of Title IX.

The coalition, which includes nine senators and 121 House members, is led by Congressional Equality Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Becca Balint, D-V.t., Democratic Women’s Caucus Chair Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, D-N.M., and Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii.

The list of signees features prominent figures on the party’s left wing, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. The list also includes House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Nancy Pelosi. The list does not include noted moderate Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., or Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

The 130 Democrats on the list urged the court to side with Becky Pepper-Jackson, a trans teen from West Virginia who successfully challenged the state’s law that prohibits biological males from competing in girls’ sports, and Lindsay Hecox, who successfully challenged a similar law in Idaho to compete on Boise State’s women’s cross-country team.

Mazie Hirono, the dumbest member of the Senate, wrote:

“All students deserve equal access to opportunity in schools—whether in the classroom, on the playing field, or in other settings. No student should be discriminated against based on who they are.

“A categorical ban on transgender students participating in sports not only harms these students, but also subjects women and girls to harassment and discrimination, and leads to the policing of children’s bodies. This contradicts the very purpose of Title IX: ending discrimination in federally-funded education programs. These bans are blatant discrimination, and the Court should say so.”

What Is She Going To Do About It?

According to Fox News:

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Tuesday rejected the idea of U.S. military strikes against cartels on Mexican soil, responding to President Donald Trump’s comments that he would do “whatever it takes” to stop drugs from entering the U.S.

The Associated Press reported that Sheinbaum said Mexico would not allow foreign military action in its territory and reaffirmed her government’s position against any U.S. intervention.

Trump said Monday he would consider authorizing U.S. strikes inside Mexico to halt the flow of drugs, calling it “OK with me” if that’s what it takes to protect American lives. He cited what he described as major success intercepting narcotics by sea and suggested similar operations could target cartel routes on land, arguing that such action would save “millions of lives” in the U.S.

Sheinbaum pushed back quickly, saying the proposal echoed earlier talks with Trump about potential U.S. intervention. She said Mexico welcomes cooperation on security but that its sovereignty is nonnegotiable, stressing that any joint efforts must respect its authority within its own borders.

Maybe They Should Take the U.S.’s Help

There were major riots and violent protests in Mexico over the weekend, primarily centered in Mexico City and several other cities. The unrest was triggered by the recent assassination of Uruapan mayor Carlos Manzo and broader anger over escalating cartel violence, corruption, and perceived government inaction.

What Happened

  • Large crowds, described as “Gen Z”-led or youth-driven, organized mass protests across Mexico, with Mexico City experiencing the largest turnout.
  • The march began as a peaceful demonstration but escalated near the National Palace when a contingent of masked protesters tore down barriers, attacked police with stones, fireworks, and improvised weapons, and tried to breach government property.
  • Riot police responded with tear gas and non-lethal weapons, resulting in violent clashes that lasted several hours.

Injuries, Arrests, and Aftermath

  • At least 120 people were reported injured in Mexico City alone, including approximately 100 police officers and 20 protesters, with dozens needing hospital treatment.
  • Police made at least 20 arrests in connection with the violence in Mexico City, and dozens more were detained in other states.
  • Similar protests and sporadic riots occurred in Michoacán, Guadalajara (Jalisco), and other municipalities, with government buildings damaged in some locations.

Political Response

  • President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the violence and blamed right-wing opponents and foreign influences for stirring up unrest while opposition leaders accused authorities of police brutality against peaceful demonstrators.
  • The protests have increased political tensions, with government critics and supporters fiercely debating the handling of organized crime and the legitimacy of the demonstrators’ demands.

Broader Context

  • The current wave of unrest follows the highly publicized assassination of a reform-minded mayor and reflects deep dissatisfaction with the government’s security policy and efforts to curb cartel violence.
  • Youth and Gen Z activists have become increasingly visible, demanding action on organized crime, political reform, and accountability.

These events have been widely reported internationally and have focused fresh attention on Mexico’s ongoing struggles with violence and corruption.
