Another example of why we need to close the border rears its ugly head.
Trump and Xi Jinping sign a trade deal. I will still hold my breath on this one, but we can talk about it.
And Greta Thunberg has lost a fan.
These People Don’t Belong Here
According to the Daily Wire:
The FBI prevented a potentially “violent terrorist attack” planned for Halloween weekend and arrested multiple people in Michigan, FBI Director Kash Patel said on Friday morning.
Patel did not disclose where exactly the attack was planned to take place or who was allegedly behind it, but he added that more details would be released soon.
The FBI director thanked the men and women of the FBI and law enforcement everywhere who stand guard 24/7 to “defend the homeland.”
Fox News has reported:
The Detroit Public Affairs Office confirmed to Fox News that members of the FBI field office in Michigan were in Dearborn and Inkster this morning, but there is no clear indication if this was connected to the thwarted attack.
News of the thwarted plot comes 10 months after Shamsud‑Din Jabbar plowed a pickup truck into New Year’s revelers on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street. Fifteen people were killed and dozens were injured, making it one of the deadliest acts of terrorism in the U.S. since 9/11.

Another Win…I Hope
The latest China-United States trade deal, reached in late October 2025, is a one-year truce that temporarily eases tensions between the two nations by suspending certain tariffs and export controls, while introducing new agreements related to rare earth elements, agricultural purchases, and fentanyl controls.
Key Elements of the 2025 Trade Truce
- The United States agreed to cut tariffs on fentanyl-related goods from 20% to 10%, lowering the overall tariff burden on Chinese imports to roughly 47% (from a previous average of 57%); a threatened 100% tariff has been suspended.
- China agreed to suspend its new export controls on rare earth elements for one year, effective immediately, which had been a major source of contention in recent months.
- Both sides will halt reciprocal port tariffs on each other’s ships for 12 months, aiming to facilitate smoother logistics.
- China committed to ramping up purchases of American agricultural products, especially soybeans, and will boost imports of U.S. energy, with a possible transaction for Alaskan oil mentioned in talks.
- The agreement features expanded cooperation to limit fentanyl and its precursors, with China pledging to undertake more efforts to curb illegal shipments to the U.S..
- The U.S. will temporarily suspend certain export controls related to national security, specifically delaying an expansion of the ‘entity list,’ which restricts Chinese companies’ access to American technology.
- The two sides reaffirm previous commitments, such as those made in the Madrid consultations, involving corporate cases and broader cooperation.
Unresolved Details and Longer-Term Issues
- The rare earths agreement is explicitly a one-year temporary deal, with a plan to “regularly extend” as needed.
- Trade truce remains thin on detailed implementation mechanisms and future steps; analysts caution that many issues—especially on technology, chip exports, and long-term tariff rates—are only temporarily resolved and could return.
- The U.S. and China have agreed to further dialogue, with additional state visits planned for the first half of 2026.
- Historical context and existing “Phase One” deal elements—regarding intellectual property, technology transfer, and agricultural purchases—remain operative but are not fully absorbed into this new truce.

Wow!
According to Business Insider:
Amazon slashed 14,000 jobs this week — not to cut costs or chase AI, but because they didn’t fit the culture.
That’s according to Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who shared his thoughts about the layoffs for the first time during the company’s quarterly earnings call on Thursday.
“The announcement that we made a few days ago was not really financially driven, and it’s not even really AI-driven, not right now at least,” Jassy said, referring to the job cuts announced on Tuesday. “It really — it’s culture.”
Jassy’s remark aligns with his broader mission to reshape Amazon’s culture this year, which Business Insider chronicled. He is trying to raise performance standards, enforce discipline, and eliminate bureaucracy.
Amazon’s senior vice president of people experience and technology, Beth Galetti, announced the cuts on Tuesday in a blog post, explaining that despite the company’s strong performance, it is reducing jobs as a result of AI rapidly changing the world.

You Don’t Say
Some things:
- He is proposing mitigation, not prevention.
- He accepts that the climate is going to change and there is nothing we can do about it.
- His caring for “human welfare” is new. He is a Malthusianist. He believed that we needed to lower population to prevent climate change. He believed vaccines were a way to do that.
- Who cares what Greta Thunberg has to say or what she thinks?
- Greta doesn’t buy climate change anymore either.
- I do want to point out that he talks about vaccines being for the betterment of humanity. He also thought it was a way to control the population.
- Climate change has never been about human welfare or saving of the planet. It has been about control. The was made clear by the World Economic Forum in which Bill Gates is a member.
You Have To Be Kidding
According to the Post Millennial:
Virginia school officials and parents are condemning a series of student-made videos posted by Muslim Student Association (MSA) chapters at two Fairfax County high schools, in which members staged mock kidnappings as part of efforts to recruit for the club. Critics say the content is “traumatizing,” especially for Jewish students, which appear to mock the real-world kidnappings carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
The since-deleted clips, filmed at Langley High School in McLean and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, appear to show MSA members targeting students who refuse to join the club. In one video, students at Langley can be seen placing a bag over a classmate’s head, lifting him off the ground, and throwing him into the trunk of a car, which quickly drives away. The scene ends with the group laughing and asking bystanders if they want to join after seeing the consequences of saying no.
A similar video at Thomas Jefferson depicts students covering a classmate’s head with a keffiyeh while stuffing another into a plastic storage bin before dragging them away. It’s unclear whether the two clubs coordinated the content, though similar clips from unrelated students mocking club recruitment have surfaced online.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) swiftly condemned the footage, stressing that the district did not approve the videos and warning that disciplinary consequences are possible.
This Just Enables the Behavior
According to the Post Millennial:
A Minnesota man who was arrested by the FBI for a TikTok post placing a $45,000 bounty on the head of Attorney General Pam Bondi has been released without bail. Tyler Maxon Avalos, 30, of St. Paul, Minnesota, signed a personal recognizance bond on October 22, agreeing to appear for future court proceedings.
Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright released Avalos on October 22 with GPS monitoring and ordered him to continue his mental health treatment. He was prohibited from using a computer or online services without the approval of his probation officer. The conditions of release also prohibit Avalos from using drugs, alcohol or possessing a firearm, Avalos must submit to a curfew as directed by the pretrial services officer, and submit to a search of his person, residence, and other areas under his control.
Avalos is accused of posting the bounty to TikTok, which featured a “sniper-scope red dot” on Bondi’s head and the words “WANTED: Pam Bondi. REWARD: 45,000. DEAD OR ALIVE (PREFERABLY DEAD).” A TikTok user in Detroit flagged the post.
